Avatar f tn Meals that consist of some lean protein--- a broiled piece of fish with some lemon, a baked chicken breast, a grilled pork chop along with much vegitables and fruit is a healthy meal. Try to cut down on grains/starches. Things like bread, white rice, pasta, for example. Eat fruit for a snack. It has natural sugar so I get my sugar fix with say an orange or an apple.
Avatar f tn I make lots of stuff from scratch don't fry much. Try baking fish or chix without skin. Bake potatoes or slices with just salt and pepper. If he eats hotdish use skinless chix breast with rice little bit of milk/cream and butter doesn't have to be a lot. Google low fat quick recipes there's a lot to try!

Avatar m tn The best way to eat is to eat a healthy and well balanced diet with lots of fresh fruit and vegetables, meat, fish, etc. so that your body gets all the vitamins and minerals in needs to stay healthy. Drinking plenty of fluids and especially water is also important so as not to get dehydrated. If you are concerned that you are "not eating enough", the time to worry is if you start to lose weight.
Avatar f tn Shepards pie with some veg in it, broccoli and pasta bake, homemade soups, fish and let them dip I'm egg then breadcrumbs and bake in the oven, make your own pizzas they can have some fun decorating them but go very light on the cheese... If you let them cook some meals with you it gives them an interest in food and educates them on healthy eating too - good luck.
Avatar n tn com is a great site to find out about macronutients I am not saying that pasta, rice, breads are unhealthy, but we tend to take 3 cups of pasta instead of 1 cup. The same with rice ect ect. Like those meals with pasta, garlic bread and some kinda dink. Just this meal could rack up over 200 grams easy.
Avatar m tn First of all, almonds contain healthy fats needed for a healthy body. In addition to their healthy fats, they are high in protein, fiber, and vitamin E. If I had to guess, I would say that you probably pass some of the fat through your stool because of the amount of fiber content in the almonds. If you eat 1-2 ounces of almonds a day, stay on track with that.
2020005 tn?1476662562 Center your meals around lean protein such as lean beef, pork, chicken, fish, turkey, etc and complex carbs, such as those found in veggies and whole grains. Protein and complex carbs take longer for the body to break down, so will keep you feeling fuller longer. Also, make sure you get an adequate amount, but not too much, good fats, such as those found in olive oil, avocados, etc. Watch labels and look for foods that have either mono or polyunsaturated fats.

Avatar f tn For a 16 year old and for the rest of your life a healthy diet means choosing to eat nutrient dense foods over empty calorie foods. Nutrient-dense foods you get from a food, given the number of calories it contains. These foods give you the most nutrients for the lowest number of calories.
