Avatar f tn Any time you take your diet from a normal 2500 calories to 500 calories you'll lose weight. All the shot does is suppress your hunger to make it a little bit more comfortable for people to handle. It is all about the food that you put into your body. Your body is only going to lose the weight it needs to in order to find a healthy balance. I hope that whatever you find will help you out but I felt like I should share the information that I've recieved.
Avatar n tn Make no mistake about it, without proper treatment and the option of a transplant liver cirrhosis in time can be a fatal disease. All person with cirrhosis should be under the care of a hepatologist at a liver transplant center. Only they can help manage your cirrhosis and diet is only one small part of living with cirrhosis. Thinking that changing the food you eat will not have an impact on the fatal nature of liver disease.
637356 tn?1301928422 Ok so I was doing the Weight Watchers point system and accourding to the WW point system I was going over my points everyday. When I started Tracking Calories with Medhelp I am under my calorie alotment for the day. I don't just mean a little under my calorie alotment but I eat like 500 calories less than what I am allowed for the day. Which do you think is more accurate? Should I just use Medhelp? I do think the food tracker on Medhelp is easier to use.

Avatar f tn per week, you'll have to cut 3,500 calories from your weekly caloric intake, or 500 calories per day. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention suggest not exceeding weight loss in excess of 2 lbs. per week. Read more: http://www.livestrong.
Avatar f tn Lentil, minestrone, or tomato soup with a grilled-cheese sandwich on whole-grain bread 10. 550 calories: 1 cup pasta tossed with browned ground turkey breast, black olives, diced onion, a drizzle of olive oil, and 1 ½ tablespoons crumbled Gorgonzola cheese Evening Snack: 8:30-10 p.m. Feeling as if this was the longest day of your life? Maybe your calorie count is too low. Adjust it by adding more sensible foods to your plan.
Avatar f tn Once you've done that, you will need to drop off enough calories to lose weight. 1 pound is 3500 calories, so you'd need to drop 500 calories/day, to lose 1 pound per week. Exercise can be incorporated into most days, even if you can't set aside 30 minutes at a time. Climbing stairs, cleaning house, doing yard work; everything qualifies as exercise and you can learn some simple ways to stop and add a few moves to your work time. Every so often, stop and do a few squats or lunges.
1186967 tn?1264696740 I do use the Food Tracker on here, so you can check that out if you want to see what I am eating. I try to stay under 2000 calories. I weigh 164 and am trying to lose 15-20 pounds. Good luck!

597390 tn?1219428950 My goal is to loose a little over 40 pounds. Will it be okay to eat Lean Cuisine microwave for lunch as long as I keep my calories under the 1200 that the doctor recommended me?
Avatar f tn If you want to lose weight on the HCG diet you do have to follow the food protocol. It is not easy i will tell you that first off. You are restricted to 500 calories a day. Generally you get 100 grams of meat for lunch and a hand full of veggies, then the same for dinner. Meat and veggies are best if they are organic or all natural. I can find all natural fish and chicken in my area but beef so I just get what I can. The portion is more important.
Avatar f tn I would increase your cardio to a good level of intensity for 45 minutes atleast 3 to 5 times a week. Decrease your calories to 500 a day for the first 30 days and don't eat past 6pm. Then increase slowly but not more than 1500 a day (I stay under 1000) No soda. Atleast 8 cups of water a day. Not too much protein, a good amount of fiber, and limit sugar/carbs intake. Don't use too much weights either...more reps less weight.
Avatar n tn im 24 almost birthday is at the end of feb im 5'6 im very active now I jog/walk 40 mins per day 5 days a week ive currently lost 17 pounds but im having a problem since i started to work out longer IM burning through to many calories and not eating enough.
Avatar f tn To lose a pound a week, you would need to eliminate/burn 3500 calories/week, which averages out to 500 calories/day. You can eliminate 500 calories, burn 500 extra calories with exercise; OR eliminate 250 calories, plus burn 250 calories. Of course, to lose more, you would need to eliminate/burn more. Keep in mind that cutting calories too much will cause your body to think it's starving and will hold onto fat stores already there.
Avatar m tn You should start by consuming 250 to 500 calories more than you burn per day. You should have 25 to 30 percent fat, 10 to 15 percent protein and 55 to 60 percent carbohydrates. Have whole grains, sweet potatoes and from lean proteins such as chicken breast, fish, beans and very lean beef. Emphasize unsaturated fat sources such as nuts, plant oils, seeds and fatty fish. You need nutrient-rich foods to supplement your diet.
776302 tn?1241095453 In general, I don't recommend radical weight loss or using products like that to substitute for healthy low calorie meals. As a diabetic you need to find a way of eating you can live with ongoing. Don't believe everything sales ladies tell you about their products and don't use them as experts in diabetes.
Avatar n tn Im 5ft 4 I weigh 195 what is the best calorie intake for me If i had an idea of my calorie intake now I could just subtract 500 cals a day to lose weight Ive been trying to stay under 1500 cals a day but I really dont work out like I should and I dont know how many calories a person uses on average daily just doing eveyday things. What is your calorie intake?
Avatar f tn If either are more than moderately active, calories should/may need to increase to maintain a steady and ultimately healthy body weight. So at only 500-1000 calories if you are even moderately active you should be dropping weight fast. 3000 calories under/over your daily normal limits (as above) is all it takes to lose/gain 1 pound/approx 0.
921323 tn?1268679412 Especially if you're trying to lose a lot of weight, it seems insurmountable. Any weight loss plan should be undertaken under the supervision of a physician, but it's all right if you take the initiative. Try approaching it by making a few small changes that you can live with and stick with. Try these on for size... 1) Sleep. Studies show that people who sleep more than seven hours a night lose weight as compared to night owls. 2) Eat breakfast. Your mother was right. 3) Drink water.

Avatar n tn i don't think i would go out and try to gain a bunch of weight just to satisfy your doc., but itis usually recomended that you take in 500 extra calories a day during pregnancy and nursing. i hope that helped.
Avatar m tn Your mom is right. Skipping meals and under-eating WILL slow down your metabolism. And you WILL be weak if you're not getting enough calories. PLUS, at 16 you're probably still growing. You don't want to mess with your growth rate. Try and enjoy your highschool years and don't obsess too much. Just try and live a healthy lifestyle and take PE classes or get involved in sports.
Avatar m tn Are you looking for a fast and efficient way to lose weight without having to stress every single day about calories and carbs? Do you want a new system for managing your meals that doesn’t take a lot of time but keeps you healthy and your weight under control? If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, the 5:2 “diet” could make a lot of sense for you. Actually, it’s not a diet so much as a new approach: not to what you eat, or even how much you eat, but how often you eat.
Avatar f tn The diet also allowed me to explore spices and sometimes I feel like Julia Childs! I plan to eat healthy and if I decide I'm going out for chinese, I will eat less calories on the other days of the week. A splurge now and this is what I will allow myself. I also won't use processed foods anymore. I like fresh foods much more and I might even start my vegetable garden.
Avatar f tn Thanx dear i do not breast feed. i burn 500 , 600 calories at gym and will try to take 1600 calories. as for before i was overweight before but not obese as i am now. i gained weight from last 4 years about 25, 30 kg i gained.just because my way of eating and especially indian diets. u know full of fats and carbs. i am still taking indian diey just avoiding too much oils in my currys . and rice and chapati(whole wheat bread type).
921323 tn?1268679412 But as a result of this visual similarity, I’ve found that a good number of the posted comments were written in defense of this “miracle” diet, which combines supplementation with a hormone first detected in the urine of pregnant women (yep) and...a daily 500 calorie restriction. So I thought it was a good idea to readdress the issue, with a renewed focus on HCG this time. Drum roll please... I think the HCG Diet is a bad idea for at least three reasons.
Avatar n tn She has become more and more creative in preparing low carb meals--stays under 10 grams. Her doctor advised her to start adding carbs--but she gained weight immediately. Has she done damage to her metabolism? She mentioned a stomach staple, but she hardly eats anything--thus, would a stomach staple work? She is about 60 lbs over weight at this time and only 4'10" tall. This is causing a great deal of emotional stress for her and it is difficult for her friends and family.
Avatar n tn I eat very healthy five to six times a day and do not go over 1400-1600 calories. Same questions, why can't I lose weight? I have not lost any at all this month... I know I am putting my whole heart into reaching my 135 goal, and I can't seem to make it... I am so deppressed. I have friends that are thinner than me, and they don't even work out...NOT FAIR!
Avatar n tn ) then I purchased an recumbent bicycle at the beginning of Feb. Since then I have been biking off 500+ calories a DAY - per the digital readout on my bike. My problem - I'm not losing ANY weight...I've gained 2 pounds!!! I did notice that my pants fit better and that I'm looking leaner but I still want to get back to 145 not bulk up with muscle! How do I get back to losing weight WHILE getting in more exercise?
