Avatar f tn I was like that, smells made me gag, ground beef made me throw up. I'm 11 weeks today and it's getting better now but still can't do ground beef. Hope it doesn't last long for you.
Avatar n tn You can use frozen fruit and veggies to made healthy meals, instead of fresh, since fresh tends to be a lot more expensive. Also, if you live in an area that has year 'round Farmer's Markets, be sure to utilize those, since fresh food tends to cost much less at a Farmer's Market than at most grocery stores. You can use ground beef and other less expensive cuts of meat and utilize a crock pot to make the meat more tender.

Avatar f tn Preheat your oven to 350°…Crumble ground beef in a skillet, salt and pepper it. (When its done put in a can of rotel if you want) and put your choice of cream of mushroom or cream.of chicken in the meat. While that's cooking defrost some tater tots in the oven. After they're defrosted layer some tater tots in the bottom of a cake pan then layer the meat on top and some.cheese and more tots and meat and.cheese and the pop.in the oven for about 30 minutes.
973741 tn?1342342773 She used some chicken mixed with taco seasoning as a topping, some ground beef, some beans, lettuce, tomato, different types of cheeses and vegis. She said it was a big hit. I think I'll try that in the near future. Not sure how healthy it is but kind of a festive Friday night type of dinner that would be fun.
Avatar f tn Baked russets topped with ground beef onions and Garlic, bacon, steamed broccoli, cheddar cheese, scallions, and sour cream...so not good for me but it sounded so good !! What about you?
579258 tn?1250649343 This makes a tremendously healthy alternative and can work the same for when you want to use any kind of ground meat (lean beef cuts, turkey or chicken breast). A fast, easy, and healthy chicken dish is to take breasts, put them between two pieces of plastic wrap, and then pound to half an inch thickness. Season with salt, pepper and your favorite spices (paprika, garlic powder, etc.) and saute in a fry pan with just a touch of olive oil.
Avatar f tn Hamburger casserole (layer mashed potatoes, cooked ground beef, green beans, tomato sauce is optional, and cheese. Every thing is cooked so it takes like 20 minutes to heat in oven. Or if you make small portions you can microwave) i bought Salisbury steaks already made and then done a veggie and instant mashed potatoes in microwave. Breakfast casserole(so many ways to make this but i usually do hash browns, sausage, scrambled egg, gravy, and then cheese) lasagna, chicken lasagna.
Avatar f tn As for recipes and health eating just try adapting the foods you already eat by using healthier ingredients. (Ex. Ground turkey instead of ground beef, whole grain pasta instead of white pastas, high protein cereals over high sugar cereals) Small adjustments add up to big changes. I hope this helps.
Avatar f tn An easy cheep on is chili cook a bunch of ground beef with onion and peppers cool it off mix in the rest and put it in big freezer bags. That way i slip it out of the bag on the day i want it into the slow cooker it melt in there and simmers and its so good! Sheppards pie or lazana can be cooked into thos cheep disposible tin pans. And frozen. Throw them in the oven when you want them to warm them up.
1277082 tn?1344057820 Well, I don't really have any actual recipes but I do have advice for you in which it should probably help you out. For us with PCOS, it makes our bodies harder to digest simple carbs (i.e. pasta, breads, rice). So because of this, this is why we gain weight and this is why it takes so long to come off. My suggestions are as follows: Bread: whole grain, high fiber. Anything high fiber (yes it is more calories) works to your advantage, because it will make your body feel more full...
Avatar f tn t eat anything made with ground beef. Well, turns out I was p/g! I carried to term and now have a 20 month old DS... Just a ray of hope to shine on you :) Hope this is your BFP, Good luck! Keep us posted!
1057389 tn?1325465587 Ground beef...I HATE ground beef, the smell of it used to make me sick I hated it so much, but now it's like I HAVE to have it, that and seasoning salt, it makes everything smell so good!!
Avatar n tn When I first became pregnant I could handle ground beef. Smell, taste and look just made me sick. My couldn't eat it either and would make her feel sick too.
Avatar f tn For protein, you can include a 3 oz can of tuna (leave sealed until time to eat), chunked chicken or turkey, cheese, etc. You can do the same thing with healthy sandwich fixings - sliced turkey, chicken, left over roast beef on whole grain bread or wraps. Pack Greek yogurt, raw veggies, fresh fruit, homemade soups that you can heat in the microwave. Any healthy leftovers that can be put in containers and microwaved. The important thing is to be sure to take them with you.
4628530 tn?1369109086 I've learned to change my diet as well. It's tough, I often relapse. I have to plan my meals out for the week in order to be effective. I follow a paleo diet, which is basically if you can hunt it, catch it, gather it, or pick it, you can eat it. I just try not to eat too much meat and try to limit my beef to once a week if necessary at all. If you want to stay away from meat period, you can still follow paleo, just might be a little limited.
Avatar n tn It's definitely hard when that stuff is all around you like that. You could try bringing a healthier alternative with you from home. Something that really helps a lot is drinking a lot of water. Another thing that really helps is eating enough protein. No, the junk at McDonald's doesn't count as protein. They put all kinds of nasty chemicals in that type of "meat". It's far better to eat a healthier type of protein, like a cooked chicken breast.

5221747 tn?1365396245 I'm 37+3 and sorry in advance for the tmi. But the past two times I've eaten either a steak or like tonight, ground beef in a sauce for pasta, I've gotten diarrhea. The steak also made me throw up like crazy. But tonight, i made a meaty sauce and ate around 6?(its 12:30am now) and about half an got ago, i started getting that nasty sour stomach feeling. And just now i had to run to the bathroom before i pooped myself DX the beef is the only common denominator.
594189 tn?1386916607 You aren't complaining -- this is a fact of life for a lot of people. I would guess that the food banks give out that type of food because it is filling and satisfying; not because it's good for you. I understand that you don't have a lot of money to buy food, but can you afford some fresh/frozen veggies to go with all these carbs? A head of lettuce & couple of tomatoes for a salad to go with the beef stew?
