Common Questions and Answers about Healthy breakfast pregnancy

Avatar f tn Ok so I work 8 to 5 Monday thru Friday. I usually don't have time to make a healthy breakfast so I whip up a smoothie and get on my way. What can I put in my smoothie, like protein or something that will help me get my morning nutrition. Before pregnancy I didn't care, but I am 13 weeks and I want to make sure I'm doing this right. All the help is appreciated!
Avatar f tn Hot wings, Sun chips and lemon iced tea for me. Not healthy but oh well. Also can eating spicy foods be harmful? I'm currently 14w3d.

Avatar n tn You could also drink a glass of orange juice or milk if you don't eat breakfast. At least you'll have something healthy in your stomach. I only drink chocolate milk, and prefer TANG over OJ, but that's just me! LOL Or perhaps you could just try to eat a granola bar mid-morning...don't wait until 12 to eat anything at all. This is just my take it for what it is. :-) Best of luck!
Avatar f tn Fruit and yogurt sounds great. Totally going to the store today! Lol. A happy and healthy pregnancy for you all!!!
Avatar n tn Hi there, Good nutrition is very essential during pregnancy for having a healthy baby. The diet should include grains like whole wheat bread, whole grain cereal; vegetables, fruits, dairy products, eggs, nuts etc.Getting adequate folic acid is very important as a prenatal supplement. Choose grains fortified with folic acid, including breakfast cereals, breads, rice, and pasta, every day too. Have enough of proteins during pregnancy for preventing restriction of fetal growth.

Avatar f tn If you were a healthy weight prior to your pregnancy, set your pre-pregnancy weight as a goal. If you were overweight before getting pregnant, ask your doctor or for a healthy weight range for your height and age. Eat between 1,800 to 2,200 calories a day if you are breast-feeding to ensure your infant has adequate nutrition. Eat at least 1,200 calories a day, if you are not breast-feeding.
8572167 tn?1398765119 Ladies what are you doing to stay in shape and to keep the pregnancy weight gain under control? I try to mix up the following routines 3-4 days a week: walk 2-3 miles during lunch break at work with 3-5 lbs. hand weight, combo of walk/run 3 miles on treadmill varying the incline, 30-45 minutes on ellipital, tone arms/legs with 8-10 lb dumbells. I want to get back into Saturday morning zumba and cant wait to swim when our community pool opens on memorial day.
422823 tn?1229740447 So far I have lost 14 lbs, and still have a really hard time eating. I have looked through my pregnancy nutrition book and they have healthy snacks listed, but some of them are pretty strong in flavor and I just dont think I could handle that. Does anyone have any snack ideas that are healthy, but not offensive to an upset stomach? Perhaps something that worked for you? BTW: None of the traditional remedies work for me, like ginger, sprite, etc.
222234 tn?1216343635 This is an annoying thing, especially if you do end up with gest diabetes, but it's treatable and it won't make for a failed pregnancy. You've got a healthy pregnancy, be happy! You'll get through this.
Avatar f tn I don't think it's a big deal, I've accidentally eaten pink CHICKEN before (besides giving me an upset stomach my baby is completely healthy) while I was in mid-pregnancy. I don't think it should cause concern unless you start showing signs of illness, you should probably call your doctor and let them know just to make sure though.
3222049 tn?1361465976 Just because someone else does this or does that doesn't mean its ok or safe. Heat or cook it thoroughly or avoid deli meats all together, happy and healthy pregnancy to you all!

7841769 tn?1408460986 Eating healthily while you're pregnant means that your baby eats healthily too. We all want to eat healthily. But it can feel like a challenge, especially if time is squeezed, money is tight, or you’re just not used to cooking. When you’re pregnant, eating healthily is doubly important. That’s because every day your baby’s brain and organs are growing and it needs lots of the right nutrients to do this.
435762 tn?1244686220 I say enjoy pregnancy and eat ice cream or anything fun. Yes still have healthy choices but don't treat this as a pregnancy diet. Babies love DQ blizzards too, just ask my 3 year old. He also loves peanut butter and jelly sandwiches because I ate those daily while pregnant.

Avatar f tn Yeah, I'm wondering about that too. Did you have some test done that made your doctor think it would be unlikely to conceive on your own? Like a high FSH level? I'm definitely sending you lots of baby dust! Let's hope you can prove your doctor wrong!
Avatar f tn This weight gain had followed a spinal injury that caused severe sciatica in which I had to stop all serious physical activity for three months. I started to follow the diet solution which recommends eating healthy meals 5 times a day and cutting out all processed sugars and all high fructose corn syrup. At first it really helped. I lost nearly 10 lbs in the first few weeks but then started gaining it all back rapidly. I was also exercised about 45 min to an hour a day.
11999399 tn?1422743385 I know is not the case to be bothered by that as i'm single and focusing on my studies an the moment, but i definitely want to know if i would be able to carry a healthy pregnancy even if i got these health conditions. I also am a petite woman, looking much younger than my actual age(4ft10'' and 105 pounds),as I haven't developed much after the surgery. So, i could ask the endocrinologist about my fertility chances, but i don't feel comfortable to do it yet.
4232443 tn?1352837570 I then went to this Christian pregnancy counseling center because I didn't know what to do, I was in college, waitressing, and knew I couldn't support my baby. But after I met with the woman and cried with her for hours, I knew everything would work out just fine. I told my baby's father first, then my best friend, who will be the godmother.
4193337 tn?1355701972 With this pregnancy I have been trying to eat much better so I have a few smoothies a week for breakfast. I make my own and always use fresh fruit and fat free yogurt and fat free milk and just a little vanilla. I hear that these are not nearly as healthy as I thought and could cause me to gain more than I should. What do you guys think?
Avatar f tn And I fix up snacks for the weeks time because I have a 3 year old who likes to snack all day long throughout his meals.. I learned with my first pregnancy, it's so much better and easier to eat healthy so you don't feel lethargic throughout your day.. the healthier you eat, the more energy you will have.
Avatar f tn Do this pranayam twice a day, to get extra oxygen into the blood, and in turn help your body make your systems healthy. You can continue this pranayam throughout the pregnancy and for rest of life. Build up your timing gradually. If you feel tired or dizzy, stop and resume after one minute.
Avatar f tn I have been on a restricted calorie controlled diet for 6 months and doing pretty well. 5 days ago I realised I had missed a period and did a home pregnancy test and it was positive! Even though it wasn't planned I am excited. My question is how many calories should I be eating during my pregnancy? I know the baby needs at least 300 extra calories a day but what should I up my own calorie intake to? I was eating 1500 calories a day.
