1280753 tn?1367757932 Wow Unc!!! Just popping in and saw this great news. Great work in completing the task and wish you the very best for your next few pcr's and ultimate svr. Congrats on eot and getting your life back.
Avatar f tn I started at UNC and switched to Duke in the middle of Chemo. My care at Duke has been excellent. UNC treats you at Women's Hospital not the Lineberger Cancer Hospital and the chemo room is a nightmare. Also I never saw my Doctor at UNC except before surgery. I do not know if he was actually there the day of my surgery. He was going to see me six months after I finished chemo. No one could explain my cancer or chemo to me at UNC. A student called me with the pathology over the phone.
667078 tn?1316000935 Now we have gone to the hardware store, the mall, two art galleries, coffee shop twice, grocery store, sat in on two meetings with clapping, UNC Hospital parking deck, skyway over to the hospital, all over the health sciences library next door, sat in on my therapy session. We did stairs, elevators, construction zones, and bus stops. She only balked at the restroom so we have to work on that. We are filling out the application from the state so wish us luck.
Avatar m tn Cost is $20, half of which will go to Lineberger Cancer Center at UNC. Plate will have the teal ribbon of Ovarian Cancer on it. Email ***@**** to sign up. We need 300 paid applications by the end of March or the plate will have to wait one more year for state approval……so don’t wait!
396099 tn?1216254986 But new research shows that stopping drinking -- including at moderate levels -- may lead to health problems including depression and a reduced capacity of the brain to produce new neurons, a process called neurogenesis. The findings from the Bowles Center for Alcohol Studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill appear online in the journal Neuropsychopharmacology.
667078 tn?1316000935 Kelly I am out of the study. They stopped it when my ovarian cancer spread back to my spleen. The spleen is not good because it is now in the blood supply and can go anywhere. I did have it in the liver and spleen and the other chemo killed it. But because it came back I can't be on this chemo again. My breasts are fine or at least my breast doctor says I should not worry about them while I am in chemo. I have the choice of two studies or one more chemo. There are not a lot of options left.
Avatar f tn These are not the signs of autism. Given your literacy skills I would assume your intellect is in the average range. However it is possible that your cognition is on the lower side of the average range which results in this type of challenge. You or your parents can pay for a psycho-educational evaluation from a psychologist to determine exactly what the problem is.
1280753 tn?1367757932 Way to go Unc!!! Best of luck and hope you nail it this round.
Avatar n tn I found an autonomic neurologist at UNC Chapel Hill, (Dr. Caroline Klein) and tried to get a referral to her, but was told she was on a medical leave of absence. So now the EP says he is going to refer me to another EP specialist at Duke or UNC. The doc has mentioned sinus node ablation and/or pacemaker several times and I am afraid that is what they are going to want to do at Duke or UNC and I have read that ablations and pacemakers can make POTS patients worse.
Avatar f tn me me me.... I just went today... Dr. David Ontjes UNC Specialty clinic off Fayetteville Rd. in Durham.. I just went to see him today and he is AWESOME.. He actually specializes in thyroid and adrenal disease. he took so much time with me today and took notes and understood what i was saying and took the time to answer all of my questions, he wants to treat my symptoms and he is working WITH me to get me feeling good whatever that might take, he is open minded and very patient..
Avatar f tn Hubby had his 3 mo appointment (Dec 12, 2013) with a bunch of scans and blood work with his hepatologist at UNC. Everything was showing positive trends such as his spleen has shrank in size (but still enlarged) and his platelets were back up to 75! (He hadn't been that high since before treatment!) So everyone was quite happy and expected the trend to continue.
1280753 tn?1367757932 Hang in there as long as you can unc, I know it has been a long time and I feel for you.
470168 tn?1237471245 Maybe he is plugging into this ability which is helping some aspects of literacy/numeracy but is causing the mirror image problem.
1280753 tn?1367757932 Way to go, unc ! Heading in the right direction. Are they going to run an 8 week PCR? With the hgb decline and the drop in LFT's I wouldn't doubt we hear a loud UND from you in a couple of weeks. Hang in there and don't stab yourself with the kitchen knife.
Avatar f tn I'm not a health professional, so this is just a thought from a person who had a cough prior to my fundoplication... There are lots of reasons for coughing, including congestive heart failure, GERD, COPD, obesity, and there is also the chance that the Vegas Nerve can be cut during the surgery. It sounds like you need to have the reasons for your coughing sorted out carefully. Hopefully you are insured, I'd ask for a second opinion from the nearest teaching hospital where you live.
572651 tn?1530999357 I am trying to eat. I am still not out of the woods but Duke is great. Everyone is working hard to get me stabilized. It is hard work getting and keeping food in. Especially when you do not like any food at all. I ate all week end but I lost 5 pounds today alone. I have a health care advocacy conference at UNC on Friday so I have to get better fast. The workshop I signed up for is on how to get your health care story to the press.

362119 tn?1223137936 I showed DH and he said it would look better if there was a big UNC Tarheel symbol on it. Which in our language means he loved it too. I really love the name too!!! Congrats and can't wait to see pictures of your baby boy!
Avatar f tn he is very cleaver in maths but hates literacy and often refuses to do it. an occupoational therapist identified a slight problem with his fine motor skills and am now waiting on a test. i now have parents threatning harm to me and my child due to him attacking their children in school time. i have tried every behaviour therapy going and still nothing works.
Avatar f tn my mother has a pseudo tumor in the left eye. She has previously had a UNC Chapel Hill Dr. do a biopsy and has had radiation treatment to no avail. She doesn't have health insurance so the Dr. won't continue with any treatment and are baffled as to the cause and solution. So we (I) are lookin' for a Dr. that would be willin' to use her as a ginea pig to figure out the problem. The tumor is startin' to grow and now extends out to her glasses.
770551 tn?1305578901 com They are a corporation who donate a percentage of their profits to world literacy. Free shipping and great prices on new and used books.
Avatar f tn One week ago, I visited an Asian massage parlor and had protected oral sex with a female. She sucked me off, I ejaculated into the condom. I do not remember if her mouth went over the edge of the condom or not. After I came, she took off the condom and continued to masturbate me for several minutes using massage oil. Several days later, I have been feeling a sustained light tingling in my penis which comes and goes. It may be in my head, but it is somewhat noticeable.
