Common Questions and Answers about Health insurance qualifying event

insurance

Avatar f tn If you get denied for medicaid that is considered a qualifying life event to go through the health insurance market place after Feb 15
Avatar n tn Dear kelleymonica, In case of a qualifying event such as death or divorce, Federal COBRA can be extended from the original 18 months to as long as 36 months (18 + 18 = 36 months); however it doesn't seem like you have had a qualifying event (as described by COBRA law). The good news is that after exhausting your COBRA you are HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act) eligible, which means you will qualify for some type of coverage depending on your State of resident.
Avatar f tn You cannot add the bills in December to the new insurance. Give them a call the insurance helped us when we had a gap before our new insurance.
Avatar n tn Hi, I just found out I do not have health insurance. We thought it would be until the end of the month but it's already done. I wad still under my moms plan and she was laid off last month. Well I had medical assistance through the state my last pregnancy but they dropped me when she was a month old because of my fiance's income. My daughter still has medical assistance.
Avatar n tn m not sure how it is with mass health but I am 19 as well I had to get my own insurance because blue cross blue shild wouldn't have me on my dad's insurance being pregnant. Sooo I would really talk directly to the insurance company to make sure you don't want to do something that's not under the insurance and then have to pay alot.
359574 tn?1328360424 No raise in pay grade, but the season is likely to be nearly 11 months long, guaranteed over 6, thereby qualifying me for (drum roll) federal employee health insurance. I get to start on my 34th wedding anniversary, January 5. Definitely something I've been praying for. I don't need anything else for Christmas or the anniversary. Or valentine's day, or my next birthday. Just got back from a four-day weekend visiting our kids and some of the friends we left when we moved.
Avatar m tn s medical plan but even w/his insurance, with NO income, the co-pays and medicines are too high....does anyone know of an organizations or discount programs or low cost supplemental insurance that would help?..at least until/if i'm approved for disability??
1502945 tn?1289422077 The only one who can answer your question is your SSI caseworker. I agree that $89 a month is a ridiculous amount, and it makes one wonder why they even bother. You should be receiving full medical coverage for your disability, though, and that should be some comfort. Also, if you qualify for SSI, then your son might qualify for medicaid, through Adult and Family Services. It wouldn't hurt to check it out. I feel your pain. I have end stage renal disease, and stage 4 heart failure.
Avatar n tn If you search on line under health insurance there are policies you can get. Check with your state insurance department. Some states like NY have a non preexisting law which means you MUST be covered without a waiting period. The only way a new insurance cannot cover you is of you did not have coverage for 61 days. Contact your last job. By FEDERAL LAW they MUST offer you COBRA insurance. You musty pay for it but they have to offer it to you fro 18 months.
Avatar f tn I am awaiting official test results from my doctor. I currently have an individual health insurance plan. I was wondering if my insurance company can drop me? Thanks in advance for any info regarding insurance and herpes.
Avatar f tn Depending on what you consider affordable, privately purchased health insurance is available to qualifying applicants. Qualification is determined through the process of underwriting in which your current state of health will be decisive for the approval of your application. To most traditional health insurance carriers being tested, treated, examined, consulted with, received advice on or had symptoms of a condition could be construed as Pre-existing Condition.
228463 tn?1216761521 You need to meet the income requirememts but if you do, all health care is free. Each state has their own Medicaid qualifying rules. Also, some states like Pennsylvania, offer insurance to all children at free or low cost, and have similar programs for adults. The member needs to call the state senator and ask what health insurance programs are available that are state sponsored.
Avatar f tn a person in indiana is hep c positive. needs treatment, but has no insurance till december when she is passed her probationary period at work. where can she go for help and treatment? Can the famil doctor prescribe treatment, or must she she a hepatologist?
Avatar f tn Excellent answer. Thank you.
Avatar f tn Like someone else said , the ONLY way to know how your insurance works and what is covered is to call your insurance and ask about your specific policy. I worked for a major health insurance company for years and the biggest mistake you can make is not calling them in advance. I also recommend finding out what options you have for permanent coverage for your baby.
Avatar f tn Call your health plan provider. It's different with each state, I believe.
Avatar f tn What health insurance coverage/plan do you have? How much do you pay deductible and premium? Im so confuse about that. I'm 35 and planning family soon, but I'm so confused about this. thank ;you Just trying to get an idea.
387294 tn?1207620185 My son and daughter may be looking for health insurance after they leave college and are no longer dependents. My daughter has been diagnosed with a bicuspid aortic heart valve. She has a healthy heart and it is working well. With this impact her chances to get health insurance on her own? Will it impact our ability to continue her insurance after the cobra period is over on our insurance?
Avatar f tn I am going to lose my health insurance soon. I was wondering if anyone knows of any government programs I can participate in in order to afford doctors appointments and delivery.

Avatar n tn m currently 20 weeks and not working at the moment but I do have money save up. Does anybody know any health insurance that will help??
Avatar m tn Hi, I was wondering if anybody could help me with a health insurance question? About a year ago Anthem Covered two separate visits to the doctors office that I had gone to. So initially they paid and I thought I was all set. Now, almost a year later, they retracted payment due to my coverage ending within days of the visits. I understand if I wasn't covered, but I am wondering how they can pay for it and then decide they were wrong and bill me a year later?

Avatar f tn Hi Frrecks, I'm sorry that I don't know anything about the insurance, since we still have private insurance. It has to be so difficult to set aside the financial worries and concentrate on feeling better. I do know a lot of the DMD companies have programs to assist anyone without insurance. As for my private insurance cost, my employer just finished the open enrollment for next year and here is what I will be paying for my health insurance - $238.00 a month for me and my spouse.
