Avatar f tn Call your health plan provider. It's different with each state, I believe.
Avatar n tn I was wondering if I lose my mothers medical insurance (Bluecross Blueshield of Iowa) if I don't go to college next year? My brother did but I was told I wouldn't because I'm considered a dependent. The reason why is because I became paralyzed in 11th grade. Do you believe this is true?
Avatar f tn Like someone else said , the ONLY way to know how your insurance works and what is covered is to call your insurance and ask about your specific policy. I worked for a major health insurance company for years and the biggest mistake you can make is not calling them in advance. I also recommend finding out what options you have for permanent coverage for your baby.
Avatar f tn com (where I work) you can get free quotes from a broad selection of top health insurance carriers, compare plan rates and benefits, and apply for coverage online. We also have licensed agents you can talk to over the phone at 1-800-977-8860. Best of luck.
Avatar n tn Dear Paula526, Depending on where you live, there are plenty of affordable private individual health insurance plans that you can apply for. Just keep in mind that private individual health insurance is “underwritten” in most states & not guaranteed issue. That means whether or not the carrier issues a policy will depend upon the applicant’s health history. I am not saying every simple flu or cold can get you declined, but I am saying that it is considered during the underwriting process.
11294269 tn?1422402907 I currently work 3 part time jobs, 7 days a week, 50 hours a week. Something has got to give. Its just too much. The one job i cannot stand is the one that offers health insurance. I am planning to leave this job. As a single woman(i plan on getting married in the coming months), what are my options for health insurance? Im nervous and so unbelievably stressed. This whole "Affordable Healthcare Act" isn't very affordable. I went to the healthcare.
Avatar f tn I have no idea what doctor would take a patient with no insurance. We are ineligible for medical help through the state due to our incomes and we don't have insurance through work because it would be pointless to keep through October and then have to cancel it. Of course I won't wait til October to be seen, but what are my options??
Avatar f tn Chiropractors do not give massages unless you've got a multi-talented chiropractor on your hands. Prenatal massage is kind of a specialty massage because of all the care required so I think you would have to go to a massage therapist who knows specifically how to perform prenatal massages and has the appropriate equipment. Can you ask your insurance people if they know anyone who can provide a massage for you?
521840 tn?1348840771 Unfortunately, many psychologists can no longer afford to participate with insurance companies or Medicaid/Medicare. The reasons for this include low reimbursement rates, frequency of denied payment for services, and the burden of insurance related paperwork. While the situation is problematic, there is no reason to assume that you can not get the care you need. On the bright side, if you can take the time and energy to search, you have a good chance of finding someone who can help.
Avatar f tn s a given as we all have health insurance as per the Canada Health Act. Supplemental insurance for most prescription meds, eye care, dental care is another matter and covered by supplemental health plans. I have that too. Other interesting questions would include how much do each of us pay for premiums, how much are our co-pays. I'm curious about how much $$$ is spent in total one year on my health care including physician visits, radiology, ER visits, etc.
968076 tn?1248272910 Here's a link to a web site with some really good information. http://janis7hepc.com/Symptoms.htm#cirrhosis%20signs This link is specific to Cirrhosis, but the site has tons of good information about Hep C. I think a teaching hospital will treat you without insurance. I have a friend who is co-infected with HIV and HCV, and while I think he has insurance, he has to go to a teaching hospital to get treatment.
Avatar f tn I'm stay at home Mom and 34 weeks pregnant, my husband might be out of job before the baby is born and I'm trying to figure out what are my options for health insurance. Has anyone had to go through this situation before ? Any suggestions would be helpful.
Avatar n tn If no insurance and need antiviral drugs, possible to get generic brand of entecavir from India, about $700 for one year's usage, per HR.
Avatar f tn Ask your Dr office for info on other medical assistance options. There is usually something for everyone.
393685 tn?1425812522 Schools are not required to provide copies of records unless, for reasons such as great distance, it is impossible for parents or eligible students to review the records. Schools may charge a fee for copies. Parents or eligible students have the right to request that a school correct records which they believe to be inaccurate or misleading. If the school decides not to amend the record, the parent or eligible student then has the right to a formal hearing.
Avatar n tn Hey, I'm 22 and this is my first pregnancy. I am 5 weeks and 3 days. My husband makes too much for us to qualify for Medicaid but I don't qualify for any other health insurance as well (that I know of). Everything will have to be paid out of pocket. And trust me, we don't make enough for us to pay out of pocket. We have other medical bills that haven't been paid as well. Do I have any other options??
Avatar n tn I have not chosen any treatment nor has he suggested any treatment yet.....I just looked at my health plan to find this out and the way insurance companies have stuctured their drugs list is discouraging.....
Avatar n tn I think that your history of tooth decay dictates the amount and frequency of x-rays that are needed. That being said it is vitaly important that your periodondal condition must be monitored regularly. In my practice I take a full mouth series every 5 years. I don't think you can treat your health that being both medical and dental by the insurance you have or don't have. You are doing yourself a disservice. The least expensive dentistry is preventive dentistry.
1412618 tn?1281730072 Medicaid is generally for low income families and the disabled. I'm not sure you qualify just because you can't find work. Medicaid is very straightforward as to who qualifies. Google MEDICAID and it will pull up all types of info including the rules in your state. I don't think there is free insurance for full time students, but again google it and you might find something. Goodluck...
Avatar f tn I had a baby two years ago without insurance and I'm still paying! It wasn't bc my hubby and I were ignorant about the options available for assistance it's bc we couldn't qualify. My first baby i had state insurance and it was fantastic bc they paid 100% for everything.
Avatar n tn Right now a major concern they also have is what options will be available for my brother when he is no longer covered under my parents health insurance and he is a college student himself trying to make ends meet. I know there must be something someone knows that can help one way or another. Any advice please?
667078 tn?1316000935 I basically since my diagnosis of MS have only one choice for health insurance through my husbands work. We used to have four plans to choose from. Now it is two a basic and standard PPO. Now they are doing mandatory weight and smoking checks and if one member of the family smokes or has a BMI of 40 or above you are forced to the basic plan. I do not have to worry but my husband is a big muscular guy.
Avatar n tn I worked extensively with International Students at my last position for may years. I know the challenges you face when coming to our country especially with health care. Have you contacted your sponsoring agency? Not the one that employees you but the agency that helped you to come to the USA? They should be able to assist you in any health related issues. Also see your employer's Human Resource Department. They should be your advocate.
Avatar f tn I am not able to produce all of the documents needed in order to obtain health insurance and I cannot afford to pay $1000 per visit. Do you guys know of any other options that I'd be able to utilize so that I can know what's going on with my baby?
587437 tn?1219893624 Yes, I have my MRI's then I had an accident and had another one. Since IHOP doesn't have health insurance and I have to go to the county hospital for care--this is a slow process since I have numerous health issues. I'm going to school for my bachelors then hopefully masters and don't have a lot of time. My primary care doctor there seems to think I have other health issues that need more immediate attention and everything goes so slow in the county system.
Avatar n tn And I wouldnt even really have many options for healthcare for her or me. Luckily I have a health plan http://www.mybenefitsplus.com/aagate if it wasnt for that discount health and dental plan. I wouldn't be able to afford anything...and my mother wouldn't even qualify for any thing...not health or medical... and heardly any type of vision or prescription plan. Its crazy what america has done to its citizens!
