I am in St George, Ut and my PCP offered to refer me to an NS in Las Vegas or in SLC, I chose SLC because I have 3 family members who work in the new hospital where the NS is. I am not sure if there are any Chiari specialists in LV, but after my NS visit in SLC, I have decided to get another opinion from the Barrow Neorological Institue in Phoenix. The wait is long, but I feel it is worth it. Barrow has an easy referral system that is acessed either online or by phone.
I really need help as I am very scared right now since I do not have health insurance and have been having a lot of problems in my tonsils and mouth (canker sores) in my mouth (I know this is not the place to receive help for that, it is just another symptom that I am getting around the same time as this lump inside my vagina). Also, the lump is moveable and kind of itchy, but not like a yeast infection. Please, if anyone can help, I would be so grateful.

In background: My brother has had Hep-C for years. He is disabled (for other reasons) and has Medicare and has applied for Medicaid. He has been free of syptoms and waiting for the interferon-free treatment to be approved. He has been seeing a gastroenterologist.
In the past few months he has had numerous episodes of severe anemia requiring transfusions every 6 weeks or so.

my hepatologists name in vegas was dr. sharma. i can't find paperwork with means to contact him. and would like to if he's still practicing, or anyone who may be able to help. last january my latest gasterointologist, a dr. sobczak,
told me i had a yr or yr and a half to live. and has offered no help or advise since.

Ok, So that was in the year 2005 I had my MRI and the results said I was 5mm, but safe within the guidlines. My doctor wanted to put me through physical therapy once a week and try me out on topamax to try and prevent my migraines from coming on. Long story short....I didn't do the therapy, didn't take the topamax and ended changing jobs so I lost my health insurance for almost 2 years now. The only medication that I do take is Imitrex.
