Avatar f tn If you are currently covered on an insurance plan & you get laid off, & you plan to switch to your partner's plan RIGHT AWAY...then there shouldn't be an issue with pre-existing conditions. It's only when you have a lapse in coverage when this comes into play. I think when I looked up info on it, there is a certain amount of days that you shouldn't go without health insurance..They want you to have continuing coverage.
Avatar f tn If drug treatment is covered by your health insurance- can it be denied as a "pre-existing condition" if you were getting treatment and paying out of pocket before you got the insurance??? Anybody know? Someone told my son that because of ADA it cannot be denied. Anybody know?
903660 tn?1252977130 as long as you don't have a lapse in coverage, hippaa protects you (insurance portability). it isn't pre-existing, unless your coverage with your husband actually lapses before being covered by the new insurance. so if you have to pay the COBRA for a month or two, even though it is exorbitant, you will have to do it to make sure there is no lapse.
Avatar n tn I changed jobs and have a temporary lapse in my health insurance. Is there any resources to help with medications?
15480 tn?1302529802 We are purchasing insurance immediately, the day the existing insurance stops the new insurance will be effective. I was just worried how the EBV would effect the underwriting process for the insurance. I was hoping that would not be held against me and be denied insurance. I will find out soon, we are going through the approval process next month.
Avatar n tn im sure it wouldnt stop u from getting health insurance, but normally u have to declare previous/present problems and it wont cover them. ie if u were to take out private health insurance now, then it wouldnt cover u on anything to do with ur breast problems. thats just what im guessing from previous experience, i may be wrong of course but thats how it normally works.
Avatar m tn Don't let that policy lapse! You will not be able to get it again, even if you clear the virus. You will have antibodies the rest of your life and even though "cured" insurance companies consider you high risk. It is their loss because once SVR( "cured") people live out a normal life. There is probably an insurance company somewhere that insures "high risk" med conditions but it will cost you an arm & leg.
Avatar m tn Weve got health insurance. Good health insurance. Blue Cross/Blue Shield. The whole family went to the eye doctor yesterday. All had exams and each exam was $10. Yeah, $10 bucks!!! Pretty awesome.... glasses for the whole outfit excluding me, even with good insurance is going to cost $700. So much for that good insurance. Who knows what it would have cost if I was going to get glasses....
422823 tn?1229736847 You will have 31 days to notify your insurance company of the birth(s) to put your children on the policy for their own coverage, and payment of premium for the newborn(s) must be received by the insurance company within that 31 days. There will be no lapse in coverage as long as you notify your insurance company and pay the premium for your newborn(s) within 31 days of the birth.
1222679 tn?1266972001 Yes as far as i can remember my RAI was successful and i was Hypo at the time of my lapse, the lapse wasn't ordered by the doctor i just wasn't able to keep up with my meds at the time. I did however gain a lot of weight during that time but no other significant differences from how i was feeling prior to the lapse.

Avatar f tn Like someone else said , the ONLY way to know how your insurance works and what is covered is to call your insurance and ask about your specific policy. I worked for a major health insurance company for years and the biggest mistake you can make is not calling them in advance. I also recommend finding out what options you have for permanent coverage for your baby.
Avatar f tn Call your health plan provider. It's different with each state, I believe.
Avatar n tn Hi, I just found out I do not have health insurance. We thought it would be until the end of the month but it's already done. I wad still under my moms plan and she was laid off last month. Well I had medical assistance through the state my last pregnancy but they dropped me when she was a month old because of my fiance's income. My daughter still has medical assistance.
Avatar f tn What health insurance coverage/plan do you have? How much do you pay deductible and premium? Im so confuse about that. I'm 35 and planning family soon, but I'm so confused about this. thank ;you Just trying to get an idea.
387294 tn?1207620185 My son and daughter may be looking for health insurance after they leave college and are no longer dependents. My daughter has been diagnosed with a bicuspid aortic heart valve. She has a healthy heart and it is working well. With this impact her chances to get health insurance on her own? Will it impact our ability to continue her insurance after the cobra period is over on our insurance?
Avatar f tn I am going to lose my health insurance soon. I was wondering if anyone knows of any government programs I can participate in in order to afford doctors appointments and delivery.

Avatar m tn Hi, I was wondering if anybody could help me with a health insurance question? About a year ago Anthem Covered two separate visits to the doctors office that I had gone to. So initially they paid and I thought I was all set. Now, almost a year later, they retracted payment due to my coverage ending within days of the visits. I understand if I wasn't covered, but I am wondering how they can pay for it and then decide they were wrong and bill me a year later?

Avatar f tn Hi Frrecks, I'm sorry that I don't know anything about the insurance, since we still have private insurance. It has to be so difficult to set aside the financial worries and concentrate on feeling better. I do know a lot of the DMD companies have programs to assist anyone without insurance. As for my private insurance cost, my employer just finished the open enrollment for next year and here is what I will be paying for my health insurance - $238.00 a month for me and my spouse.
Avatar n tn What are the best health insurance sites/companies/agents? When you search health insurance you get ehealthinsurance.com, and healthinsurance.org, and http://www.HealthPlanOne.com as the top 3 but I want to know if you have found better ones than these ones.
Avatar n tn Alright, so I'm on my dad's health insurance through his work. It's upmc. Well, my boyfriend & I are getting our own place & my dad told me I can't change my address & stay on his health insurance. How true is this? Because I just looked it up & it said that a child under 26 can remain on a parents plan even if they don't live with them. I just want to know for sure because I can't afford it on my own. Especially not with the baby coming.
Avatar f tn If you're in the USA than I believe by law, health insurance must cover pregnancy appointments and delivery. It doesn't matter if your on your parents insurance or not. Now, how much they pay could be iffy so you're best bet is to call or ask your mom to call. One thing to think about, grandchildren cannot be extended on to the grandparents health insurance most of the time.
