1252074 tn?1271541709 Ironically the ones who do the best job at compiling medical information are health insurance companies. All are medical records go to one place in the country for all insurance companies. They can collectively take any disease such as MS and know what treatments have been effective and which ones have not. They know how many MRIs are done in a year in this country, etc.
11294269 tn?1422402907 I currently work 3 part time jobs, 7 days a week, 50 hours a week. Something has got to give. Its just too much. The one job i cannot stand is the one that offers health insurance. I am planning to leave this job. As a single woman(i plan on getting married in the coming months), what are my options for health insurance? Im nervous and so unbelievably stressed. This whole "Affordable Healthcare Act" isn't very affordable. I went to the healthcare.
790496 tn?1315615657 NO, you don't have to tell them unless of course your disability is obvious and you need accomodations up front. If will go the ADA pages, they will provide a more complete answer. I didn't qualify for health insurance due to another medical condition and it did not affect my employment status. My employer knows because of the extended absences needed an explanation.
Avatar m tn The job situation is not directly related to the ACA in my opinion. The fragile state of the economy is at least half way responsible. Things are getting better, but they are far from great. More part time jobs says to me that employers are becoming a bit more satisfied or secure with the economy but are not willing to commit to hiring a gaggle of full time employees.
699970 tn?1228235830 He seems healthy, but I am concerned for his health. What do you think we should do. Do you think he would be ok for a while longer? May be a long time till he finds a job with a company that offers insurance. I guess what I am wondering, is what is the progression of the disease, any chance that his liver could be affected asymptomatically? I don't want to lose my husband, he is only 36 years old, and I am so worried! Please let me know if he is at risk right now.
280299 tn?1216855676 "lovingmom2" is right. I 've heard of nurses coming to the house working for insurance companies, at least there should be paperwork that you give "permission" for the insurance company to look into your medical records. I too would talk to the Cardiologist. An incompetend, poorly trained and new employee could've given the Insurance company your medical info.
Avatar n tn t healthy competition to keep prices under control and make access to health insurance affordable, and for many even available. For reasons like this our government is looking and moving toward solutions that will make it possible for every American citizen to have some method for obtaining healthcare insurance and be able to keep it if they lose their jobs, or start a new job. If you are not part of the solution, then you are part of the problem.

I would rather wait a little longer for her to get back to me so I can feel better a person that knows more about my question can tell her what to to say to me!!!!!!!!
Avatar f tn A health insurance company can still refuse to pay for a pre-existing condition, but only for 12 months. Late enrollees in group health plans may have to wait up to 18 months for coverage of preexisting conditions. Credit for time served: If you've been continuously covered under another plan, your new health plan must give you credit for time served.
5650943 tn?1374112808 I hate rude nurses! I'd ask for that specific nurse to be replaced and not come into your room anymore.
Avatar n tn So why is it then, that when you are applying for life insurance and you tell them that you have quit smoking, they will wait exactly one year, come back, and do a mouth swab to see if you have indeed quit smoking for that full one year? Hubby just applied and two different companies sent nurses over. Both nurses told us that up until one full year has passed since your quit date, the swabs they use will detect nicotine. If they find nicotine at that point you will have to pay a higher rate.

1901977 tn?1333991726 Hi, I'm about to have my first baby, and the baby's father and I aren't married or in a relationship anymore, but we're planning on raising her together. However, we both have good jobs with good insurance - I'm just not sure whose insurance she should go under? How does this work for single parents who both have insurance? Is there any particular reason why she should be under mine?

148588 tn?1465778809 As millions of Americans wait to see how the federal health exchanges shake out, some who’ve been hanging onto their jobs just for the insurance say Obamacare gives them a new reason to bid their old employers goodbye. One Arizona couple, Claudia and Joseph Schulz, just quit their jobs, in fact, and launched a husband-and-wife real estate team, largely because they can sign up this week for health insurance not tethered to any position. “That was the fear before.
Avatar f tn 62 days left, and things are starting to really come together. We have most of our nursery set up, minus curtains, rocking chair, and crib, all of who I are still in boxes. I feel like I still have so much to do though! I'm only planning on taking 6 weeks maternity leave because I really can't afford any longer, and I have no idea what I'm going to to about child care.
Avatar f tn It has been a significant program and it has helped many middle-class families to keep their health insurance at a time when maintaining health insurance was difficult because of the high rate of job loss," said Alan Krueger, the Treasury Department's chief economist. Official statistics on how many people were helped have yet to be compiled, but Krueger estimates that as many as one-third of eligible unemployed workers enrolled in subsidized coverage.
Avatar f tn Hi Frrecks, I'm sorry that I don't know anything about the insurance, since we still have private insurance. It has to be so difficult to set aside the financial worries and concentrate on feeling better. I do know a lot of the DMD companies have programs to assist anyone without insurance. As for my private insurance cost, my employer just finished the open enrollment for next year and here is what I will be paying for my health insurance - $238.00 a month for me and my spouse.
Avatar n tn Depending on your salary alone, you may be entitled to more than just health insurance. For example, I was on maternity for most of 2013, and went back to work part-time for several months. I filed my income taxes married but seperate so when they looked at my income, they actually sent me a benefits card for me and "unborn 1" ha. I already have a 1.5yr old and she qualified for health insurance regardles.
Avatar f tn Like someone else said , the ONLY way to know how your insurance works and what is covered is to call your insurance and ask about your specific policy. I worked for a major health insurance company for years and the biggest mistake you can make is not calling them in advance. I also recommend finding out what options you have for permanent coverage for your baby.
387294 tn?1207620185 My son and daughter may be looking for health insurance after they leave college and are no longer dependents. My daughter has been diagnosed with a bicuspid aortic heart valve. Avatar m tn Hi, I was wondering if anybody could help me with a health insurance question? About a year ago Anthem Covered two separate visits to the doctors office that I had gone to. So initially they paid and I thought I was all set. Now, almost a year later, they retracted payment due to my coverage ending within days of the visits. I understand if I wasn't covered, but I am wondering how they can pay for it and then decide they were wrong and bill me a year later?
6927110 tn?1393318669 The first thing you do is start looking for a dr with the new insurance. Once you have your dr picked out ask for your medical records that way on your first visit new dr is on the same page and has a plan for you and baby boy. Register to a hospital that corresponds to new insurance as with Kaiser we didn't have to do that. If you have any questions feel free to message me.
