Avatar f tn Sooooo Medicaid denied me and told me to reapply! And husbands insurance wont give me coverage because pregnancy is a preexisting condition. And he tried to work it to where it would cover my bills under His name but hey, being an expectant father is a preexisting condition, too! So I'm reapplying for Medicaid and until they freaking approve me I am going to get my routine checkups at the freaking health department!

Avatar f tn If drug treatment is covered by your health insurance- can it be denied as a "pre-existing condition" if you were getting treatment and paying out of pocket before you got the insurance??? Anybody know? Someone told my son that because of ADA it cannot be denied. Anybody know?

Avatar n tn Is there any reason you don't want medicaid? Just wondering about that... I am self-employed and insurance is always a thorn in my side. I make too much for medicaid and too little for traditional maternity insurance. I found it cheaper to carry a insurance policy on myself and pay my maternity fees out of pocket. Ironically, I save money doing it this way. Most doctors and midwives will give you the option of a payment plan if you don't qualify for medicaid.
729288 tn?1251254433 My fiancee's insurance company did exactly the same thing. Denied one and approved the other. The letter was so confusing - we called the GI doc's office and got the nurse on the phone (THEY know WAY more about what's going on) she reissued the authorization request and they approved it right away. She said it seems like they just automatically deny it the first time with some insurance companies...you have to push on through it to get it approved.
Avatar n tn I'm so tired of people saying we have to pay a higher rate on insurance just because we have pre-existing conditions. Why? don't we have rights, especially the one not to be denied health insurance?
Avatar f tn I have health insurance because of my mom but it didn't cover all of my expenses so I also have pregnancy medicaid and they pay after the insurance after my baby comes I'll go back to my regular health insurance and my baby will me on medicaid

Avatar f tn The Oklahoma High Risk Pool provides health insurance to Oklahoma residents who have been denied coverage. Before your friend's COBRA runs out, she would need to apply for major medical coverage with a local Carrier (doesn't which one or for what plan becasue she will most likely get denied anyways) & get a formal declination letter.
Avatar m tn Ok I applied for Medicaid health insurance about 2 And an half months ago, so when i filled the application out it gave me theses questions, income job title and how much I'm paying for rent bills and other things and since I have no job and have no income I put all 0's and asked me where I'm living at so I put my girlfriend grandparents house whom I've lived with for about a year now cause my girlfriend lives here with them so basically I live with my girl anyway , they sent me
Avatar n tn Hey, I'm 22 and this is my first pregnancy. I am 5 weeks and 3 days. My husband makes too much for us to qualify for Medicaid but I don't qualify for any other health insurance as well (that I know of). Everything will have to be paid out of pocket. And trust me, we don't make enough for us to pay out of pocket. We have other medical bills that haven't been paid as well. Do I have any other options??
798555 tn?1292787551 I have had health insurance for the last 21yrs. I had a TT so I am clincially hypo. I have had to change health insurances at least four times since the TT (17yrs ago), but NOT once was I ever denied, nor did I have to pay higher premiums. Some forms asked about medical history & I listed it, but no problems stemmed from it. Now I am only on my husband's insurance as opposed to mine offered here at work.
412832 tn?1219075345 Hi, Was wondering if anyone has experience with life insurance company denying coverage *after* successful tx and becoming SVR. Especially if once denied, you were able to convince insurance company to accept you. I discovered I had HCV in routine life insurance exam, then tx'd and reached SVR -- just reapplied and was denied due to "History of Hepatitis C.
Avatar f tn I have been doing a lot of research on health insurane lately, since I am switching from a student (group) health insurance plan to a private (group) plan. One thing I found out, is that all of your medical records are an open book to any medical insurance company. If you have a pre-existing condition such as a back injury, cancer, or other, go with the group medical insurnace, it is regulated so that they have to accept any illness no matter what the pre-existing condition is.
Avatar f tn I got laid off at my job and have no insurance what can I do to get some help in PA.
Avatar f tn My insurance company (a Medicare HMO Advantage Plan) just denied me treatment for HCV saying it is not medically necessary. What a bunch of crock, they have been denying everything lately. I asked my doctor's office for a letter and they said they would send one but it hasn't arrived before the deadline coming up. Help!
6520484 tn?1399082398 ve had nothing but wonderful experiences with my obgyn. We should really be grateful for the health care we have. Sometimes it seems slow and annoying, but being pregnant everything has gone smoothly and wonderful. Any other Canadians feeling pretty happy about how easy we have it through pregnancy?
Avatar n tn I think that is outrageous. I don't think they can deny you coverage if you do, god forbid diagnose you with BC. You might never get BC, but if you do, they have no way of denying you coverage for that. It wouldn't be a pre-existing condition. I can't believe that they don't have to cover it by law. What kind of insurance is that? And what does having alot of cysts have to do with it? I will be anxious to see what comes of this.
15480 tn?1302529802 My husband and I will have to buy our own health insurance. Does anyone know if it is likely that I will be denied because of the EBV diagnosis? I don't take any prescription meds for EBV. Thanks for your help!
Avatar m tn It's not legal for health insurance to deny an FDA approved treatment when prescribed by a physician. Do you think this isn't the case?
