This Month my group plan ends and I can take cobra but there is no financial benefit to taking my same PPO plan which gives me to price break for being unemployed. So I am trying to look at this at a meaningful way. Since my PPO was $475/m plue $29 dental I just cant be paying that on my own now.

Avatar f tn t actually insurance, its just a new set id laws that require more robust benefits and standards for health insurance companies. There is also a marketplace that you can search through to find the right insurance plan for you. You can compare the different insurances available and find out what the prices are in your state. In some cases you can receive government subsidies to help pay the costs if you can't afford it all yourself. Healthcare.
Avatar f tn Like someone else said , the ONLY way to know how your insurance works and what is covered is to call your insurance and ask about your specific policy. I worked for a major health insurance company for years and the biggest mistake you can make is not calling them in advance. I also recommend finding out what options you have for permanent coverage for your baby.
Avatar f tn Call your health plan provider. It's different with each state, I believe.
Avatar n tn Hi, I just found out I do not have health insurance. We thought it would be until the end of the month but it's already done. 387294 tn?1207620185 My son and daughter may be looking for health insurance after they leave college and are no longer dependents. My daughter has been diagnosed with a bicuspid aortic heart valve. She has a healthy heart and it is working well. With this impact her chances to get health insurance on her own? Will it impact our ability to continue her insurance after the cobra period is over on our insurance?

Avatar m tn Hi, I was wondering if anybody could help me with a health insurance question? About a year ago Anthem Covered two separate visits to the doctors office that I had gone to. So initially they paid and I thought I was all set. Now, almost a year later, they retracted payment due to my coverage ending within days of the visits. I understand if I wasn't covered, but I am wondering how they can pay for it and then decide they were wrong and bill me a year later?

Avatar f tn Hi Frrecks, I'm sorry that I don't know anything about the insurance, since we still have private insurance. It has to be so difficult to set aside the financial worries and concentrate on feeling better. I do know a lot of the DMD companies have programs to assist anyone without insurance. As for my private insurance cost, my employer just finished the open enrollment for next year and here is what I will be paying for my health insurance - $238.00 a month for me and my spouse.
Avatar n tn What are the best health insurance sites/companies/agents? When you search health insurance you get ehealthinsurance.com, and healthinsurance.org, and http://www.HealthPlanOne.com as the top 3 but I want to know if you have found better ones than these ones.
Avatar n tn Alright, so I'm on my dad's health insurance through his work. It's upmc. Well, my boyfriend & I are getting our own place & my dad told me I can't change my address & stay on his health insurance. How true is this? Because I just looked it up & it said that a child under 26 can remain on a parents plan even if they don't live with them. I just want to know for sure because I can't afford it on my own. Especially not with the baby coming.
Avatar f tn If you're in the USA than I believe by law, health insurance must cover pregnancy appointments and delivery. It doesn't matter if your on your parents insurance or not. Now, how much they pay could be iffy so you're best bet is to call or ask your mom to call. One thing to think about, grandchildren cannot be extended on to the grandparents health insurance most of the time.
6927110 tn?1393318669 Hi everyone, Im 18 years old and currently 29 weeks pregnant. Im due in February but am going to be under different medical insurance as of January 12, 2014. Im under my dad's insurance and he had to sign for a different policy the other day(due to his job). Im curious to see if anyone else has been in this situation as well and if they have any advice for a first time mom? I'd also like to add that currently I have Kaiser Permanente and will have HMSA in January.

Avatar m tn willing: "marcia: yeah, you and Trish may laugh and think this is all pretty weird but you have no idea all the fun you're missing out on! Arguing with dr's assistants about who bills whom, with hospitals about what's been paid, with the insurance companies about what's covered, with your employer about which insurance company to switch to (not to mention arguing with everyone else about how to stop arguing about this).
Avatar f tn I was interested in seeing how many of us have health insurance vs no health insurance.
4806014 tn?1424501878 Starting January 1, 2014, health insurance plans can't refuse to cover you or charge you more just because you have a pre-existing health condition due to the passage of the The Affordable Care Act in 2010, otherwise known as Obama care. This is something we patient advocates have all fought for. Kaiser has a contract with UC and here at UCSF we perform Kaiser patients liver transplants on a routine basis.
Avatar m tn Starting October 1, 2013 all states are scheduled to open an online Health Insurance Marketplace where you will be able to compare individual health insurance plans side by side. Depending on what state you live in, information on plans and premium rates may already to be available to you. Four plan types will be offered through the state exchanges (Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze).
