Avatar n tn I have been to two Urologist since and they did not think the lesion was herpes either, they also did an HSV-1 and HSV-2 blood test thru Quest diagnostics 15 months after contact and results were also negative. My Urologist thinks I have Chronic Prostatitis.
Avatar f tn I know the criteria is a certain amount of positives in order for it to be conclusive, but this was done through Quest diagnostics and not the popular lab that starts with an "I", which has been spoken very highly of. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Avatar m tn Hi Dr I am 35 male of other wise excellent health. I have recently tested p-24 indeterminate on an HIV-1 antibody WB (this is all the detail my report provides, it is from Quest Diagnostics any experience with what this means exactly?). My report does not say anything about an initial screning EIA test or anything like that. I assume it was done and positive. If so I am not sure why it was not written on the report.
Avatar n tn These conditions may in fact be one in the same condition. Look up CPPS (spell it out) on Wikipedia, which has an excellent article; or google the term and read the information you will find, including information from the Stanford Univeristy Dept of Urology. My guess is you will find a lot of similarities with your symptoms. My second choice is that this is largely the physical manifestations of anxiety -- but as you will find, that also overlaps with CPPS.
Avatar m tn Greetings. In the quest chasing for good health, I bumped into some new unsuspected details… First I noticed problems a while ago, like 5 years, though they were mild and I didn’t pay much attention. That was time of stupid pharmaceutical experiments with oral AAS, a/b-antagonists, nootropics, other ‘notsoharmless’ substances together with some crazy diets, like being completely fatless and consuming enormous amounts of protein. Dunno what really broke me back then.
1064552 tn?1322583358 I suggest your reading the section on this website, I think in the health pages, about all the reasons why an MRI could be negative and you could still have MS. Quixotic1 wrote it and it is EXCELLENT! Please read it - you'll be glad you did!!
Avatar m tn Not to mention all the other types of illness hormone deficiencies can mimic, that is obviously very bad for your mental health and health anxiety may even be a symptom on a long ridiculous list http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CuAaMP5NNaE# I would highly recommend you watch this. It is an interview on Australian television with the author of "Running On Empty" that is a book on hypothyroidism and thyroid conditions.
Avatar f tn Yes, you should have your viral load tested minimally at week 4 and week 12. An additional week 8 test would be even better. Best yet would be weekly viral load tests starting at week 1. Some here, including myself, were tested that way, but we are in the minority. Ideally you want as sensitive a test as possible. 50 IU/ml is OK, but better would be a test like "Heptimax" from Quest Diagnostics that goes down to 5 IU/ml.
Avatar f tn I had upper and lower jaw surgery 3 years ago and my health has never been the same. I was given 4 plates and screws in the mandible and maxilla and got the same story about the bioavailability of titanium, but I question it. I have done some moderate research over the last few months and I found one excellent study about a very small percentage of patients having significant health systems since receiving Ti implants.
151263 tn?1243377877 gov/pubmed/18448695 vs the collection of papers, mostly out of the Pham, Radkowski, and Castillo labs collected in TN' health page. As best I can tell, the discrepancy is mostly due to technical issues related to different detection methods. The Pham/Michalak lab's discussion of methods is quite insistent that mitogen stimulation of PBMCs is essential to bring the trace levels of occult-HCV up to detectable levels.
Avatar n tn I have discussed they HCG injections with my family doctor and he hasn't heard of it being used for weight loss...but said he would be happy to monitor my health during the process. I have taken these shots before and had AWESOME results. At that time I lived in AL and went to LO. for a check up and then purchased the injecitons. However after many surgeries I have slowly put the weight back on and can NOT take it off.
288415 tn?1231634102 What the doctors say concern me not (i have had serveral okay ear checks since the problem began). Look, your health is in your own hands - take what the docs say with a grain of salt and backup their talk with your own research - you can be as "smart" as they are and you definately know your body better they do. i feel for all of you deeply (several times my ears have swollen shut and lymph nodes been blocked up into hard rocks for weeks non stop - i understand:)).
Avatar n tn I'm in general Good health. This must be a Symptom of some venous problem. Let's team up and all write to a reputable medical research hospital.
Avatar n tn any instructions for follow-up? did you get any meds? Seriously think about going to a naturopath for extra health support, get someone to call and drive you there. Also, go see your medical doctor if you feel that you have worsened. I got the flu shots on Nov 5th and there have been days that I felt that I went "backwards" and then I would improve again. Look at our original forum (Tingling after Swine Flu Vaccine) where there are over 150 comments for more feedback and suggestions.
Avatar m tn Hi Tiredsight, I hate to hear that you are having these types of problems. You stated: "An idea - start finding out if you have a family history of funny things that people have just shrugged off - visual problems, fits etc." My opinion which I consider fact is that you have labeled a symptom as the cause. I feel that many people these days are labeling symptoms as causes and afterall people can name a disease after either.
Avatar n tn You need to find a doctor that will listen to you. If it takes doctor shopping, do it! Your physical and mental health depend on it! To the person up above that stated all surgeries are successful...you don't know what you're talking about. Everyone is different with different pain levels. Maybe yours is set to high. I know mine is and I still feel the pain quite a bit even on the pain meds. Think before you criticize!!!
Avatar n tn i have a cut just like the rest of you and my first thought was herpes, because that is how herpes can start off, like a cut. since i went to a health clinic i have to wait a week before my results will return. i kind of feel at ease after reading others like me and thinking that it was herpes and you all found out that it was not. i do not sleep around, nor have i had many sex partners, so i am wondering how the hell did i get herpes.
Avatar n tn There is a good article in Women's Health this month in regards to Chronic pain and the fact that sometimes the nerve does not "shut off" long after the injury has healed. At least this would account for the fact that nothing shows on MRI's, X-Rays, CAT scans, Bone Scans etc., etc.. The hope was that the nerve blocks that I had would work "like shutting down and restarting your computer". One worked for 4 days, the next one 2 (they won't repeat them).
Avatar m tn I recently had a full physical and the results were that I am in above average health. I have no diseases, do not use drugs, but drink on occasion. Anyways, just started noticing these strange symptoms, within the past few weeks. Nothing "brought it on" so to speak that I can tell of. It's been going on longer, but less noticeable, now since I do not talk sleeping meds any more, it's all that I can notice... Symptoms are strange sensations on my skin.
