Anxiety can certainly cause this problem, I know, I speak from experience. I, too, have a fear of heart disease, etc, the more I worry, the worse it gets. You see, when we are uptight, our muscles spasm and this causes the pain. There is a great book called "Hope and Help for your nerves" by Claire Weekes, it is outstanding and so easy to read and understand, I highly recommend to anyone going through anxiety, and such.
