387294 tn?1207620185 My son and daughter may be looking for health insurance after they leave college and are no longer dependents. My daughter has been diagnosed with a bicuspid aortic heart valve. She has a healthy heart and it is working well. With this impact her chances to get health insurance on her own? Will it impact our ability to continue her insurance after the cobra period is over on our insurance?
927707 tn?1244133034 I live in New Jersey and my husband and I need affordable health insurance. He owns his own business and we are paying close to $900 dollars a month for doctor visits, hospital, prescriptions, laboratory, diagnostics etc. We currently have United Health Care/ Oxford. We did have Cobra when I left my job, but that was too expensive $1300.00/ month. With our Cobra we didn't need referrals, but with Oxford we need referrals. Our copay is $30.00 for doctor visits and $50.00 for specialist.

1709021 tn?1308184343 Hi lady, that would be awesome if the Obamacare did cover dental too. I'm on disability and I don't have dental coverage either and it's sad because bacteria in the gums can affect your heart health. I know the false teeth are expensive, my mother had a tooth knocked out during surgery last August, it was hanging there literally, it had to be pulled. It was from a tube they put down her throat, she was furious! I would have been too.

Avatar f tn Hi Frrecks, I'm sorry that I don't know anything about the insurance, since we still have private insurance. It has to be so difficult to set aside the financial worries and concentrate on feeling better. I do know a lot of the DMD companies have programs to assist anyone without insurance. As for my private insurance cost, my employer just finished the open enrollment for next year and here is what I will be paying for my health insurance - $238.00 a month for me and my spouse.
Avatar f tn I think I found an answer to my question on the COBRA web site: "Pre-existing conditionsSome health insurance companies cut their costs by invoking something called a "pre-existing condition" clause. The notion of a pre-existing condition makes sense when you're talking about car insurance: your windshield was cracked before you bought your coverage, so you can't expect the insurance company to replace it once your policy is in force.

1063764 tn?1272821064 I'm a 23 year old female without medical insurance. I need to see two different specialists, one of them a few times a year. But because I don't have insurance I can't afford to anymore. I have not been able to find an individual health care plan for myself that I can afford. I currently don't have a job, but as soon as I am employed medical insurance is one of the things I'll be getting. Can anyone guide me in a direction so I can find some health care plans that suit me?

1530342 tn?1405016490 The bill is the result of a compromise between dentists and the Alliance of Health Insurers, a coalition of nine major health insurance companies that handle dental claims, said bill sponsor Rep. Joan Ballweg, R-Markesan. Dentists shouldn't have to foot the bill for services that insurance won't cover and they shouldn't pass the costs on to other patients, she said. The bill brings Wisconsin in line with 30 other states that have adopted similar standards, Ballweg said.
Avatar n tn care for your teeth/gums is usually considered dental care and will be covered by you detnal insurance only, regardless of other systemic conditions one may have. You are right when you say gingivitis and diabetes are related, but just because you have diabetes does not mean your gingivitis stems from it. most adults have gingivitis, which is a mild inflammation of the gum tissue. It should be able to be addressed within the parameters of your $1000 maximum. treatment is not that involved.
Avatar n tn I think that your history of tooth decay dictates the amount and frequency of x-rays that are needed. That being said it is vitaly important that your periodondal condition must be monitored regularly. In my practice I take a full mouth series every 5 years. I don't think you can treat your health that being both medical and dental by the insurance you have or don't have. You are doing yourself a disservice. The least expensive dentistry is preventive dentistry.
Avatar n tn Is there a product I can use to help guard that area, so my tongue doesn’t get cut? I don’t have health insurance and I don’t make much money, so I can’t easily go to the dentist. I haven’t been to the dentist I need over 10years. That’s how long it’s been since I had health insurance. My the are in bad shape, my gums have been receding for years and I just don’t know what to do. I’m scared my teeth are going to fall out and I’m only 32 years old. I’m so embarrassed.

Avatar f tn Hello! Don't know where can address my (dental) health issues beacause my current treating physicians care less to treat well. Have severe pain in my upper and lower jaws and feel to take out some of my teeth. Previously was diagnosed with periodontal disease (however, only SRP was done). Also, developed TMJ after I took out all of my wisdom teeth as told they were infected and decayed and could not be treated.
Avatar n tn But now that I must take Dilantin and Vimpat for seizures, it sounds totally rational for my health insurance (which is must more comprehensive and pays for ALL my health issues), should cover the "black teeth" caused my Dilantin, since IT was the cause of my unsightly teeth, the need for periodontal surgery (even though I use an electric toothbrush, Listerine, and keep my mouth/teeth clean as a whistle) and may well have to have two dental implants to anchor a bridge for the darn tee

1667689 tn?1303337973 Thank you. Unfortunately we had been with Kaiser for 26 years then dropped our coverage to go to Mexico as missionaries for 1.5 years. When we returned we tried to get back on with them but because of pre-existing conditions that were found under their coverage, they denied me coverage. That is why I am in the place I am in. I did find a no insurance/lower income clinic which I went to and now I am waiting to hear the results of my ultrasound.
Avatar m tn My mom told me I have dental insurance with "delta." And I think you misunderstood. The tooth that underwent the root canal still has its normal color, whilst this greying tooth in the front is painless.
Avatar f tn Hello, Many thanks for posting your question. It sounds that this may be the case of Pulpitis or "inflammed pulp." I believe you will require root canal treatment of the affected tooth. It may stop hurting very suddenly. But all may not be well afterwards. I would suggest consulting an another specialist dentist who would like to examine your teeths & gums health and order some investigations like dental X-Ray to reach at appropriate diagnosis.
