5152628 tn?1364370772 I noticed a few months ago that a mole appeared on the back of my neck, i felt it and my husband confirmed it was a mole. I did nothing about it, then after a couple of months my neck was very itchy, i asked my husband to look at it, and he said it was very crusty. The neck is still very itchy but does not feel crusty anymore.
Avatar m tn Whereas in the past, the “face” of head and neck cancer was a man in his 60s with a history of heavy smoking and alcohol consumption, the men diagnosed with HPV oropharyngeal cancer do not smoke heavily and may still be in their 50s or younger, although older men are also affected. Dr. Wirth explains that HPV cancers show a specific pattern as to where they arise.
Avatar f tn Take Omeprazole empty stomach in morning and an antacid gel at bedtime. Refrain from smoking, alcohol, fuzzy drinks and spicy food. Get a complete ENT and dental check up before you think of cancer as the cause— less likely as the lymph nodes swell and subside too. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Do discuss with your doctor. Take care!
Avatar m tn My great worry now is that is this sore throat related to hpv as hpv can also cause head and neck cancer. I will be glad if someone can help me on it.
Avatar m tn com/id/50388546/ns/health-cancer/ Besides obesity, the report points to another potential growing cause of cancer – HPV. The report finds that two cancers on the rise, head and neck cancer and anal cancer, are caused by HPV. “HPV-associated cancers accounted for 3.3 percent of all cancer cases among women and 2 percent of the total cancer cases among men diagnosed in 2009,” the report reads. That adds up to 21,000 women and more than 13,000 men diagnosed with these cancers.
Avatar m tn Unfortunately, there is no HPV-based screening test approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to identify men at risk of head and neck cancer, the same way a Pap smear identifies women at higher risk of cervical cancer, says the health letter. Thus, men should stay alert for early signs of disease and seek immediate evaluation, since with standard treatments, cure rates are 75 percent to 80 percent.

Avatar f tn I have a few swollen lymph nodes on my neck and one right above my left collarbone. I have had one swollen node on my neck for years. I had it checked out by a doctor a few years ago and he said he wasn't concerned because of the size. He didn't check my blood or run any tests. I didn't question him. For the past few weeks I have felt unwell.

Avatar m tn Does this sound like anything to worry about? Obviously my biggest fear is some sort of head and neck cancer (I am a 21 year old male, never smoked a cigarette, barely drink alcohol, no history of oral cancer). I do have a plantar wart on my right foot, but I'm not sure if the HPV from that could spread to my throat. Does anyone have any idea what this could be? Thanks!
Avatar m tn Hi, I'm male 21 and a month a ago or so i have had this pain inside my neck at first i thought it was due to maybe a cold i had gotten better of but the cold and also diagnosed with bronchitis in the lungs is now long gone and i still continue to have pain in my throat lately i have notice recently i have to consistently clear my throat and notice wheezing and coughing but only a few times though put the day and sometimes i feel my voice change.
954814 tn?1247191128 whether it is in a margarita or just a straight shot, I get severe neck, back and joint pain. It starts in my head and then travels down my neck and throughout my body until it has run its course. Generally takes I'd say about an hour or so. I'm currently experiencing it which is why I was on the internet trying to find people that may have the same reaction with possible answers. I know it's not the fact that I'm just a lightweight. Red wine is still enjoyable.
Avatar m tn despite the fact that you smoked and drinking alcohol, 80-90% of all cases due to smoking and alcohol, I have not received message or e-mail
1372144 tn?1278483231 With regards to the sensation of heaviness and inability of your neck to support your head, inflammation of the blood vessels of the head or bony changes in the structures of the neck may be possible causes. Try to observe if this occurs with your migraine or different attack. Do keep us posted on your follow-up with your attending physician.
Avatar n tn I have a hard, non-tender lump on the right side of the back of my head down towards my neck. I noticed it in undergrad (4 years ago) and they took blood work. The NP said that my white count (i think) was slightly elevated, and that i probably had a virus lingering around, which would explain the swollen lymph node on the back of my head. It has never gone away. It has been there at least 4 years now. I have lately been SUPER fatigued.
Avatar f tn It’s been now a little over two weeks and I’m still lightheaded and not even lying down helps...I’m so tired and I feel nauseous...my neck is stiff. I’m so scared and I keep crying because I haven’t improved at all...someone pls help me!
Avatar n tn The general term used for babies who can not hold their head up well is head lag. At birth, all babies have head lag. Some control over head movement is reached by 8 weeks so that head lag lessens. By the age of 4-6 months, most babies should be able to hold their head up when pulled by their arms to a seated position. However, there is of course some variation between infants, and some may hold their head up earlier and some a little later.
Avatar n tn There are many different tests available to try to identify cancer recurrences in the neck and elsewhere in the body such as lung or bone. One of the best and still least expensive tests is a careful physical examination by a practitioner skilled in thyroid disease. Because papillary thyroid cancer tends to spread to lymph nodes in the neck rather than other far away areas such as lung or bone, a careful physical examination can easily detect a recurrence in a neck lymph node(s).

I get tingling pains in my fingers and tensing feelings in my arms. I also feel pain in my forearms of tingling and tightening. The final place there is pain I worry about is above my ears on each side. The tingling pains in my hands are mostly at the tips or index finger. I can also feel it in my legs. What could this be?
Avatar f tn Hi all, Has anyone ever heard of breast cancer (IBC or other) spreading up the neck to cause neck, ear, and head pain on that side? I have a swollen axillary node and pain in my breast and up my neck to my ear and head and nobody can figure it out, even breast specialists. Does this sound famiiar to anyone? Thanks so much for any info.
Avatar m tn After reviewing various studies that have been done on oral HPV, there seems to be a clear link between HPV and oral, head, and neck cancer. I believe the American cancer society also supports this link. That being said, ~18 months ago, a female friend of mine performed oral sex on me twice within about a 3 week period. I learned 6 months later that she had an abnormal pap, and tested positive for high risk HPV (not sure which type). That brings me to the following questions: 1.
Avatar f tn Does anyone know if tobacco and alcohol are still thought to be cofactors in oral hpv cancer? Do most people with oral hpv have a weakened immune system?
Avatar f tn I was prescribed anti-depressents which calmed me but the headaches continued. I was then sent for a MRI head and neck scan without dye which came back clear. I have also had a ct scan of bowel and several other tests which again have been ok. I am now feeling sick but my GP will not send me for any more tests. I have a fear of cancer after being diagnosed with ovarian cancer ten years ago which turned out to be a complete mistake.
