Avatar m tn Hi i received oral sex from a sex worker who i later found out to be hiv positive and during my encounter i noticed that my penis had blood on it. my wound must have been open during the oral sex and bled. so i then decided to have an hiv test 12 weeks after the incident which then came back negative so i was wondering whether i should go for another one at 6 months(which it said on CDC website).

Avatar m tn Not an HIV concern. Oral sex is not a risk of HIV transmission.
Avatar f tn The only way you can get HIV is from an HIV positive person so your fear that the advice would change if she was positive is overthinking and you need to re-examine that thinking because it doesn't make sense - likely you are over-stressed and not focusing on the straightforward nature of your situation making it impossible for you to have HIV under any circumstances.

Fabled “microscopic” or “tiny” holes in condoms aren’t a cause of HIV transmission. If a condom breaks, you will know – it will be hard to remove. A condom that slips, but still covers the head of your penis, prevents HIV. 2) Having penetrative sex with a CSW with a condom. This is surprisingly safe. CSWs are tested much more regularly than most people.
Avatar n tn Aids is transmitted through the placenta and you baby could be born HIV positive. If he has warts or genital herpes, it can be passed to your baby as well. Some drugs can be found in the production of sperm and semen, im not sure how that can affect a baby but I could only imagine what it could do. There is a whirlwind of things that could happen not only to you but your baby aswell.
Avatar f tn Only a test can tell, but it isn't spread to someone every time an HIV person has sex and you don't even know if she has HIV anyway, so try to relax until you test. Nothing is pointing toward HIV, so try to relax while waiting to test.
Avatar m tn If you are a heterosexual who has had unprotected sex outside of a mutually monogamous relationship and do not have symptoms, all you need is an annual health screen that includes testing for HIV and common STDs (chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis)- you are far more likely to contract these during unprotected sex than HIV. HIV/STD testing is also advised if you are about to start a long-term sexual relationship with someone, so that you both know your status going into the relationship.
Avatar m tn I had unprotected receptive oral sex while having small warts on my penis. Am I at risk with HIV? I understand that receptive oral sex is extremely low to zero risk. In my case, does it become higher risk or still no risk. I'm very worried. Thanks.
Avatar m tn did u mean that if person have unprotected anal sex its result in false positive ....unprotected anal sex is most highest risk in transmitted ... if the hiv test kits result false positive its time for u to get test at clinic to be sure about the things ...best of luck..
3191940 tn?1447268717 The most effective way to prevent HIV is to abstain from sex altogether. This means not having vaginal or anal sex with anyone. * Condoms: Condoms are very effective at preventing the transmission of HIV. When used correctly every time you have sex, condoms can reduce your risk of getting HIV by 99%. Occasionally, despite using a condom correctly, it can break. If the condom does not VISIBLY break during vaginal or anal intercourse, there is no risk for HIV.
Avatar n tn The only risks for HIV are having unprotected vaginal or anal sex or sharing IV drug needles to inject drugs. Canker sores under lip will not lead to hiv transmission. Air and saliva inactivate the virus.
Avatar n tn I kissed her and she gave me blow job but not full just on the tip of my penis. While having sex my condom malfunctioned and I replaced it within seconds. After 10 days of exposure I had sore throat and I fear of HIV. I get tested of western bloat test after 12 days of exposure. The test result came out negative. I was completely fit but again I got sore throat after 112 days and again I went for Western bloat but out of bad luck it came positive for HIV 1 and 2.
Avatar m tn Hi, I had sex with a male partner of unknown HIV status, probably positive, we had oral sex with no condoms, and he penetrated me with a condom. He finished oustiide of me and later i reviewed the condom and it was in good shape One week later I developed high fever and a sore throat together with joint pains and sweating that lasted 3 days. Have I been infected?
Avatar f tn yes she needs to use protection and she shouldnt be having unprotected sex anyways. risk of pregnancy and stds. your friend is young and thats even more troubling that shes having sex and its doubtful it will be with one guy for the rest of her life. she needs to be more concerned with stds. its not likely to get pregnant on your period but if your cycle gets messed up or anything (and at a young age your periods never regular) then shes likely to get pregnant.
Avatar f tn I am 16 yrs old and i had protected sex 2 days ago...but while having it my condom nipple burst....I had washed my genital part but cant remember throughly or not.......I have fear that can i get Hiv?? She(prostitute) is saying she is not infected but happening of all this is making me go crazy!!! Avatar m tn This means that you have oral herpes type 1, most likely. You can get genital hsv1, but if you don't have any genital symptoms, this is an oral infection. Billions of people globally have hsv1 orally. This is the virus that causes cold sores, though 90% of those who have it never get any symptoms. There is no way to reduce the IgG level - once you have herpes, you always have it. You could have had it for a really long time. Herpes is only a concern for HIV if you have it genitally.
Avatar m tn though most of the literature i can find states that the risk of transmission to someone having insertive oral sex is negligable as they are only exposed to saliva, there is a 'theoretical' risk if blood were present in the mouth. In my case i know there was blood - noticeabley so and enough to coat my penis. Can blood enter the Urethra? If he was HIV+ what are the risks to me? As an advocate for and practitioner of safe sex I can't quite believe the situation has happened to me.
Avatar m tn As a recovering sexual addict to another get help man! Ive avoided having any form of penetrative sex. With or without a condom for a while now. But Im telling you get help.

Avatar m tn I am circumcised but I had balanitis while having unprotected sex that lasted approximately 15 minutes. Will balanitis increase the chance that I get infected with HIV? The skin on my penis head was complete but there was one tiny ulcer that was not bleeding. 2. How long after the exposure should I go for a STD and HIV test? Thank you!
Avatar f tn Hello I received deep unprotected oral sex from my hiv positive friend. He also was jerking himself off while performing oral on me. What if he got precum on his hands and then used the same hand to touch my penis? He says he was undetectable and on his meds. What if he wasn't, was this a risk?
Avatar n tn She said she wasn’t wet and we stopped having sex after 3-5 minutes. 2) Are muscle and joint pains a sign of HIV? Note: my muscle and joint pains are sharp and last for a few seconds, go away and come back. They are not consistent. 3) Does a positive Lyme disease test mean I might have HIV? 4) I also had a CBC complete blood count test, which can back “no diff” (I think that means normal).
Avatar m tn 5) While we have not engaged in penetrative anal sex, is proper condom usage effective in preventing HIV or does a chance exists that HIV can be spread even through correct condom usage? While we have not done that, this is a concern since sex is an aspect of any relationship. He has been understanding of my concerns and fears, which is why we are taking it one step at a time because we are being as responsible as we can be, but his HIV status is a concern nonetheless.
