I had very bizzare reactions to Ambien.. Major amnesia. I would "sleep walk", eat, talk on the phone, have sex with my husband. I even drove!! Be VERY cautious sweetie... watch other drugs for a possible similar reaction..

Well I have posted on here befor about my horrid cycles I go through in relation to HEAVY drinking, xanax, ambien and sex . I am recently coming out of one of these cycles and have not had sex in a month, a drink in 5 days and trying to taper off the abuse of the pills. I have been doing pilates for the past 2 days and feel that has really helped me. I have been having problems sleeping mostly waking up and my stomich hurts alot but mentally I feel good.

I have been on and off Adipex and Ambien for 2-3 years. Usually after 8-10 months the weight loss doctor takes me off for like 6 months and then I can get back on. Now I’m starting have some ED issues. Sometimes can’t get fully erect and some times I ejaculate before I get fully erect. I recently started having this issue. My sex drive has been down too. I’m curious if the long term effect of Ambien and adipex is causing this issue?

if you are on an extremely low dose for a week, you will still go through withdrawals that could be worse than the hydro. sub's stay in your system A LOT longer than the hydro and even on them a week, imo you will still go through some withdrawal.

I have generalized anxiety and Insomnia that are usually well controlled, but lately are not. I have not slept hardly at all for 3 days. I've gotten 1-2 total hours on average a night with no REM sleep. My anxiety is terrible, and the longer I don't get adequate sleep the worse its getting. I take ambien and klonopin 1mg twice daily. Has anyone got any suggestions? I would appreciate anyone's comments or further questions.

Hello, I can't find a recent posts on ambien addiction/withdrawal. I haven't had one in 16 days and would like to read current posts from anyone who has struggled with this drug. have done all the online shopping, and sleep eating that I care to. so it is back to not sleeping and really missing the ambien. think I am over the withdrawal for the most part. the headaches have stopped. But really MISS this drug!! it did the trick for me and I loved that sleep!

I felt strong and ready for the rocky road ahead but last night was sooooo bad. I took 5mg ambien and half a 0.5 of ativan and tried to sleep. Let's just say that sleep did not happen I maybe slept 20 minutes early in the morning and then around 5:30 I think I fell asleep until 8. I feel terrible today absolutly atrocious. What can I do? Today has just been rough. I'm not thinking about relapsing or the pills I just feel like crud.

Hi my question is that I have a spouse on Ambien and has been taking it for about three years now and swears there is nothing else that will help them sleep but uses it to cope with life also if something goes wrong they go to bed and take an Ambien and sleep until they feel better about the problem does anyone have any suggestions as to how to handle something like this.

My bad on saying you can stop the ambien cold turkey. I didn't realize it had benzo like qualities. That is why it is always best to get your final advice from your doctor as we give advice from our own experiences. I stopped it without a problem but we are all different. I should have checked with my doctor before stopping!!!!!

I'm 16+2 my dr prescribed me ambien..I'm scared to take it as I've seen what it does to my mom...anyone not have bad side effects like sleep walking, sleep driving or hillucinating?

You might want to see if the Dr will switch you to say lunesta and see if you can use that while getting off ambien or when you tapered low enough to jump and switch. Good luck.

My doctor wanted to put me on it, and I refused. I had a friend that did such crazy things while on it, that she had to quit taking it. A friend told me about Simply Sleep by Tylenol ( it is not habit forming), so I tried it with great results. I sleep well, and wake up feeling good. Walgreens offers the exact same thing under their name and it's a lot cheaper, so I switched to it, same great results. Well worth trying!

ve been taking the 10 mg of ambien as I have issues falling asleep, when I was in the hosital on the steriods they gave me 5 mg, as I had prednisone when I got home we discussed it and upped it to 10 mg, which works well for me.

First of all congrats on 24 days! Very proud of you. As far as having pain, I have 44 days today and I am still occasionally having pain in my arms and legs. I take advil usually. It's very frustrating, I know but we have come this far, it is getting better over time. You can do it, everything will become less and less over time, I promise. Have a fantastic day!!

I was having lots of memory loss and neck and back pain while on the Ambien. I quit (2) days ago and i feel alot better. Can't sleep so good yet ( rebound ). Hope this wont last long.

I was put on trazadon because of my severe insomnia and anxiety due to going through hormone change. After Ambien and Lunesta quit cold on me (due to the hormone change), I have been taking 1 ambien and 150 mg. of Trazadone for 3 nights now. I started with one Ambien and 50 mg. of Trazadone, then second night, I couldn't sleep so my regular doctor said to adjust dosage to 1 Ambien and 100 mg.. Third night I had to use 1 ambien and 150 mg.

Hi! I was put on ambien 10 mg over 2 years ago. When I first started taking it, it worked great, feel asleep within 10 minutes or so. I suffer from severe depression and at night when I lay down for bed my brain goes in a million directions and I can't sleep, hence why my Dr. originally put me on the ambien. It really seemed to help and i didn't actually dread going to bed up until up till about 6 months ago. I have clearly built a tolerance to it as its not working anymore.

Sounds like amnesia from the Ambien to me bt. It can happen. While I was on Ambien, I had it big time and my family would later recount stories of what I'd done or said. I didn't remember squat. I'm glad you are all right. You need to see the prescribing doctor and tell him/her this is happening to you. You also need to stop the med. in my opinion, but you can't really do this cold turkey without a rebound insomnia.

The only sleep aide that I was allowed to take on a long term basis and worked that way and is clinically noted as not having the potential for addiction was Rozerem and unlike Ambien that would not make me tired throughout the day but that is a specific psychiatrist's decision.
