Yes, there were instances of polygamy, but that was because of man going out of God's design. Adam and Eve in the Garden. Christ and the church (as a collective noun, an individual, not each individual viewed separately). The first is a picture of God's design. The second is what marriage is a symbol of.

You even stated you want to be married before having a baby as well. Having a baby before marriage with a man who is constantly changing when you all should get married.......that isn't a good sign. Plus, it won't be easy to get through school/finish pregnant and then having the baby. I would recommend you are COMPLETELY done with school and have found a job or established your career AT LEAST prior to contemplating pregnancy or marriage.
