Avatar n tn i am 24 about to be 25 and i was diagnosed with high risk hpv in november. but nothing was done after the pap. now every time i have sex i bleed. its not a little bit like yours mine is a period for 3 days bleeding all together for a week. i just don't have insureance to go and get checked out and my husband makes to much for me to qualify for medicade.
Avatar f tn I even had an outbreak while with her (it was a long distance relationship) where I had an outbreak about five days after we had sex, and then we resumed having unprotected sex again about a week to ten days after I had them removed. As far as the chances that you will contract his strand of HPV, I do not know about that. I'd say it ranges in the area of likely to moderately likely but I have no way of knowing whether that's true or not.
Avatar f tn Long story short, I was dating this guy recently for about 6 months. We were both tested for STD's and came up clean however my pap revealed I have HPV. We first used condoms, but after we were both tested we stopped using them. During our whole relationship my ex would get these little red bumps on his shaft, pubic area and sometimes his belly. He went to the doctor and the Dr. said it seems to be a fungal infection of some sort?
Avatar n tn My question is how long after being affected with HIV would cause HPV or a rectal fungal infection to pop up? Does HIV work that fast? After 5 weeks of being negative how reassured should I feel?? Thanks Doc.
Avatar n tn First she thoroughly washed my entire body with soap and water then she proceded to give me protected oral sex for appx 4 minutes. After this we had protected vaginal sex for roughly 6-10 minutes. During this time I believe that some of her vaginal fluids may have gotten on the base of my penis where the condom does not cover. After the sex was completed she proceded to clean my penis with a warm wet towel. One hour later when I arrived home I washed with soap and water.
Avatar m tn s true that HPV is common STD and having condom protected sex will not fully protect from HPV. However, most of the time HPV infection will not cause any symptoms and will not harm your health. And, most of the time HPV will be eradicated from your body in few months of time. My advice is to get a doctor's evaluation your white bumps.
Avatar m tn Welcome to the STD forum. There is little or no risk for HPV from oral sex. Most sexually active people, including sex workers, do not have oral infections with the genital HPV types. It can happen and may account for a small minority of genital HPV infections, but rarely. However, there are no known statistics on which to judge the numerical risk. HSV-1 is always a potential risk from oral sex.
Avatar m tn just the chances of her having oral HPV are low so when you combind that with unprotected oral the risk is even lower of you getting HPV since she most likely didn't have it orally.
Avatar n tn WTF? Why are you having sex with active warts? Even oral sex isn't safe for your partners. Is it possible for her to get oral HPV from performing oral sex on you? Yes! Is it then possible for her kisses to spread it to your mouth? Yes but a much lower risk. Please cease from all sex until a few months of no warts occurs. This is also to prevent you from getting more warts besides infecting others.
Avatar n tn If you have been having sex all along, there is a good chance that you already share the virus.
Avatar f tn I don’t have any signs of an STD. We’ve been having sex over a year from now. Haven’t had sex since Jan 1. They scheduled me for a follow up appointment to swab my cervix. They didn’t test me for HPV because I’m under 25. So I don’t know if I have it. They simply said “if it were urgent then we’d have you in here tomorrow but since it’s not we’re scheduling a month out to swab your cervix and take a closer look. Most cases it clears up on its own.
Avatar n tn The hpv vaccine only protects against low risk hpv 6 and 11 and high risk 16 and 18. There are many others out there. Also, if you were sexually active ,oral, anal, hands touching etc., before you got the vaccine, you could have contracted 6.11,16, or 18. If by a positive Pap you mean abnormal, then you should be having this investigated. Write down your questions and don't be embarressed aabout asking ?s It is a Very confusing subject-hpv and pap tests.
Avatar f tn This bump appeared 5-6 years after we began seeing each other and having frequent unprotected sex.). I am recently divorced and am thinking about getting involved sexually with someone. I have told him that I have hpv. What are the risks (after 28 years) of infecting him with hpv? Thank you. (We both have been tested for all other stds and we both have tested positive for hsv2. Other than that and 'my' hpv we both are clean).
Avatar n tn HPV shouldn't present serious challenges, but you should discuss this with her doctor to be certain about your course of action.
Avatar n tn How big of a risk am I of contracting HPV? I read thats its rare but I also read it was 5%. Ive read that its not a big deal but I feel that it would be in my situation. Im only worried because my wife and I gave our virginity to each other, so if she gets HPV then my mistake is out in the open. I would also like to thank you Doctors for this forum and the wealth of information it provides.
Avatar m tn Thank you. I know it's annoying and repetitive, but I'm really worried and now i've re thought my question. Does having sex with someone else who isn't infected after an exposure counts as an exposure if i didn't get it from the first one? and if i did, would having sex with someone who is healthy would delay in any way my results?
Avatar n tn if you performed oral sex on someone who has an active HPV infection then it's possible that you could've contracted it...consequences are that you could have hpv orally.
Avatar m tn Am thinking whether it may spread to my wife while having sex. Sometimes back we were thinking of having our second child. But after I had a look at it recently am worried about further sex and planning for our next child. One of the doctors said that it wont spread to my wife. But the things i read in internet threaten me a lot. Please anyone who has wartz on the male genitals has worried so. IS my worry correct and how can i proceed?? Please advise. Thanks.
Avatar f tn I'm 21 and lately ive been having a bloody mucus discharge after intercourse. It only happens during "deep" sex. I have high risk HPV and mild dysplasia. I had a colposcapy done but a biopsy was not needed. I also have had the mirena for 2 1/2 years. Could either of these be causing the bloody discharge?
Avatar m tn d at least be common courtesy to mention the possibility of infection to me and to stop having unprotected sex while it was being checked out? Or is it not obvious or so 'not a big deal', that the general recommendation is not tell the partner until it is confirmed? 3. My worry is lowered. Can you clarify your #2 response? Should I assume that I KNOW I have HPV and tell future partners? or only assume i've merely been exposed to it until some other fact says otherwise?
Avatar f tn Furthermore, HPV is not transmitted as easily through oral sex. Remember that most people get HPV, and most people have oral sex, yet oral cancer rates are low among non-smokers. 3) HPV infections usually persist for 6-24 months. If you start getting normal results, you can be confident that you have cleared the virus.
Avatar n tn Is it possible to have a normal sex life living with HPV? and since its just comming popular to the light now is it possible that more have been infected for years?
Avatar m tn Hello, I'm a 26 year old female - today I was told I returned positive on an HPV test, but my pap came back normal. This is the first time I've been positive with HPV. As a precautionary measure, I was started on the vaccine today as well. It's not clear which strains I have, and though I have some clues as to who I got it from, I'm more curious about the piece of advice my doctor gave me.
