Hard lump after wisdom teeth removal

Common Questions and Answers about Hard lump after wisdom teeth removal

lump

Avatar n tn I'm not sure what my topic is .... I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth pulled a week ago. The dentist who pulled them had me awake with local pain killers. The right two were the hardest to get out and they spent an hour extracting them. I knew when they were doing it that they were pulling fairly hard on my jaw and possibly unhinging it as I go to a chiropractor often to get my jaw aligned.
Avatar n tn I have had a small hard lump behind my right ear for about 2 years now, it doesnt hurt or itch, Iv'e noticed it since my wisdom teeth started growing out 2 years ago. It never really bother me, and some times it just goes away for a few days and then comes back.
Avatar n tn Post-op discomfort after wisdom teeth removal may last weeks. Wisdom teeth are frequent occlusal interference. It's common patients feel the jaw position or bite is different after wisdom teeth removal. This is probably what you described " misaligned". If you do'nt have temporomandibular disorder, the bite will be realigned after a couple of weeks. If you do have tmd problems, seeing a tmj specialist is advised.
Avatar n tn after wisdom teeth extraction 3 days ago my grandson has a hard knot under the hardest one they had to pull.....its painful even into his neck plus he has a hard time opening his mouth but just a little.....
Avatar m tn I have but mine is with any thing that is salt! i had mine taken out in 08' and they left chipped peices of tooth still in there. right afterwards well the doc said it was the stiches. well two days later i had to dig the chipped peices out! and what not!
Avatar f tn what ever happened with your jaw alignment problem?? because 2 months after my bottom wisdom tooth removals my jaw looks very uneven and still i have pain and numbness around the area of the removal. i have yet to get an x ray of my jaw but had x rays of the area where the removal took place. im just confused and dont know what to do.
Avatar n tn sory to be so indefinite, but it may be a sign of TMJ and it may or may not be related to the Wisdom teeth removal----- remember when those teeth are removed, your jaw is manipulated and stetched in unnatural ways to get them out. The muscles can easily go into spasm right after or a short time later.... It's odd that you were fine and then it started acting up after you are pretty much healed, but i guess it is possible.
Avatar n tn Hi, I wonder if anyone can help me I had my Upper left Wisdom Tooth out almost 3 Weeks ago, just by normal extraction & I am still suffering with pain. I get earache in my left ear & pain behind my left eye, and when the pain comes on my teeth feel weird like I need to bite down, it's a bit hard to explain!
Avatar m tn I have a hard lump (teeth hard) growing out of my bottom jaw. It's located on the outer side of my lower right side jaw below and between my two back molar teeth. It's pea sized and grew from barely noticeable to full size in 2 days. It doesn't move around freely and feels like it's attached to my jaw bone. I had my wisdom tooth removed from that location about a year ago because it impacted my other tooth.
Avatar m tn First off, I have been having swelling on the left side of my neck for some time now. I have suspected that it was my wisdom teeth causing this because I have needed them pulled for some time now. My top wisdom teeth are decayed and falling apart(They are so hard to take care of!) and do occassionally have pain in them when I bite down on them. but the bottom ones are coming in really crooked and dont have any pain from them.
Avatar n tn I have a hard knot/lump on my lower right jaw bone behind my wisdom tooth which is still there. I noticed it yesterday and it makes it hard to close my mouth or eat on that side and it's painful. I just wanted to know if anyone might know what it could be. I have jaw pain from time to time which makes my wisdom tooth ache because I have TMJ, so my doctor told me last year. If anyone has any ideas let me know.
Avatar m tn If there is not enough room for the tooth to easily come in, get it extracted. Wisdom teeth are really not necessary and if they become impacted, they can make all the rest of your teeth shift position. Hope this helps.
Avatar n tn I should also note that it does not hurt to touch unless i press hard but that is like all my wisdom teeth extraction sites.
Avatar n tn Hi!With a problem of toothache on my upper left wisdom teeth, I went to see the Dentist. He told me that my wisdom teeth was slight broken and infected as well and suggested me to go to Dental Surgeon to remove it. As i have to travel and have to writeup my thesis, I would like to have any alternatives that can remove it at least for 3 months; for which he replied that RCT is the only option but will not remove the infection completely; may help for fewdays-months.
1847035 tn?1327274923 okay, so question. I need my wisdom teeth removed badly. I think my ortho should have let me remove them before I got my braces. well now no braces but bad hurting wisdom teeth. :( my question is what should I do?
Avatar n tn The oral surgeon admitted that this is a freak complication of having my wisdom teeth out. I have had a hard time finding out any information on the internet about other cases similar to mine. Could this be negligence on his part? I am not a litigous person and am not looking to sue him; however, if I have to have my jaw wired shut, I will have to go on disability and will face a large loss of income for the time off.
Avatar f tn Any wisdom teeth experiences or words of advice would help. Also if anyone has taken halcion for wisdom teeth removal let me know.
Avatar f tn This isn't so much a question but a follow-up of previous posts from 3 years ago regarding post wisdom tooth removal paresthesia (altered sensation) of my chin/bottom lip/bottom gums. I'm now 4 years post wisdom tooth removal and still have the paresthesia, although I believe it has diminished somewhat. Or maybe since it's been 4 years, I've just become used to it. I typically have absolutely no hope at regaining feeling at this point.
