Avatar f tn I work at the top laser hair removal company in the uk and we don't treat anybody who is pregnant, it's not worth the risk, it can also cause pigmentation because of the hormones x rubbish I know because I was due to get mine but iv just found out in 5 weeks =)
Avatar n tn What is the best thing to do for a reaction to lip hair removal cream. Site is red and burning.
Avatar n tn Rockoff, I am an older primary care physician who has been exclusively practicing primary skin care for five years. I do laser hair removal, photofacial rejuvenation, Acne care, and a number of other primary skin care services. I have a good relationship with the areas Dermatologists and create many referrals for them. At present I am using the Clearlight from Lumenis to treat Acne. My experience with the light suggests it has been oversold and hyped by the company.
Avatar m tn I had a stent for 1 week after my 1st stone was removed. Since the removal of the stent, I have had waves of severe back pain similar to the initial pain I had when I discovered the stone. I heard the ureter can spasm as it heals and this blocks the urine flow in the kidney causing the pain. How long should this last? What is the best way of managing the pain?
Avatar n tn I am a bit worried that i could have some sort of disease or somthing wrong inside my body? I have read that laser hair removal could help, it's soo expensive, and I have so many areas to treat. I wish that someone would do some reasearch and find out whats going on, im just glad im not alone though. Lastly if anyone has a sucsses storey, please tell.
162948 tn?1205256292 I had the mirena in for about 13 months & had it removed end of august to try to get pregnant. I had thought it was more immediate. I found out it can take 3-6 months for your cycle to return. my husband and I are pretty bummed because we would have removed it earlier (or never had it put in). Anyway, I bled a few days after removal (probably due to the removal) & then nothing until a couple days of brown spotting at the beginning of this month.
Avatar n tn If these become intolerably frequent, you might consider either surgical removal of the underlying cyst (if there is one), or permanent removal of the overlying hair (blond hair is generally unsuitable for laser removal, but electroysis is, believe it or not, a thinkable option.) Good luck. Dr. R Disclaimer: The information provided in this forum is presented for general educational purposes only.
Avatar f tn The methods of hair removal in hirsutism are shaving, chemical depilation by using depilatory creams, temporary epilation by plucking, tweezing, waxing and permanent epilation by electrolysis, thermolysis and laser hair removal. Apart from these there are some medicines available for treating hirsutism in PCOS.
694164 tn?1333149588 Margypops, The worst possible thing you can do is to shave-this blunting the edge of hair growth causing the feeling thicker courser hair. Hence why men get stubble! Ok you have 2 options-Laser which effectively burns from the hair follicle(the root) As long as there is growth this can be performed. This is done correctly will work for you although you have to keep with it.
363243 tn?1331037450 Hi coco727272, I was recently diagnosed with PCOS. I am not African American, I am of Sicilian decent. I also have had problems with hursutism. I had something called laser hair removal on my face to remove upper lip hair, chin, neck and "sideburn" hair. It is really very effective and permanently removes hair as the laser kills the hair's root. You'll probably always have some hairs because you can grow new ones at any time in your life but it kills the hairs that are there.
Avatar n tn ) I know I appreciate it, and hopefully your partner does too ;) As far as laser hair removal goes, I don't see why you wouldn't be able to get that down, unless there are certain risks that go with the area. Your best bet would be to call in and find out.
Avatar f tn I still have to shave my upper lip and forearms daily and pluck chin hairs because I can't afford laser removal. A few years ago I had a total hysterectomy due to numerous fibroid tumors and a large cyst on the remaining ovary. I wish I had my medical records from '86 so I could say exactly what I had, but I just don't know. But it's nice to know I'm not alone.
948349 tn?1294383837 I also believe that home laser hair removal kits will help you with your acne if your acne is causes by ingrown hairs. I'm going to be purchasing one within a month which is a bit steep in price at 500 dollars, but I think it's well worth it. I have ingrown hairs on my neck, and sometimes I also get acne on my neck. For men and shaving... avoid a close shave and shave in the direction of the hair follicles growth rather than against it.
Avatar n tn Now I have dry scaly skin all around neck, patches on cheek and all over ears, Slow hair growth where it is and discolouration so looks horrible. When I wake up all areas are covered in white powdery skin, when wash it off the skin is red and scaly, afew hours later dry and flaky again, extremely uncomfortable. Throughout used E45 which is a common cream for dry skin in the UK, teried numerous other but woukd sting and not do much so went back to e45.
Avatar f tn It is NOT folliculitis, which I have also had--I have very light, sensitive skin and very dark, dense hair, which made shaving my legs an absolute nightmare and resulted in constant infections. I have since had laser hair removal to remedy that problem. I'm 42 and female, and the rash has been happening since I was 20, and it only happens when I take an antibiotic (never with pain meds, nasal sprays, decongestants, or antihistimines).
948349 tn?1294383837 This is what I am looking into next... I also believe that home laser hair removal kits will help you with your acne if your acne is causes by ingrown hairs. 626901 tn?1261876405 tanning (sometimes in the tanning bed) salt water baby powder cotton clothing I am trying to find out now if laser hair removal would be effective in treating this condition. Since they say it is often an issue w/ hair follicles, you would think that this would help. Let me know if you hear anything new! :) Thanks!

Avatar n tn Regarding the hair loss, when I started going through menopause at age 47 I would find a hair ball in the shower. Lasted for a while and then stopped. I've read that hair loss can be attributed to a lack of estrogen. So not sure if you're at that age or not. Hair loss is also a symptom that some people with lupus deal with. I've had some estrogen issues just recently and have noticed my skin is a lot drier than usual, probably a result of the lowering estrogen.
Avatar f tn they did a biopsy shortly after i did this post, and nothing specific came back. i've had it treated w/ medication (pills and topical) and also laser and it'll seem to look a little better for a few days but then i'm almost to square 1. it just will not seem to heal. just today they decided to do a second biopsy, because they also find it odd and worrisome. they did diagnose me with rosacea b/c in general i am very pink with capillaries close to the skin.
1006035 tn?1485579497 There is supposed to be a new surgical method that is supposed to be less painful for recovery but it is very costly as it is a laser surgery. That being said we have two cats and they both are *not* declawed. However I'm not opposed to getting it done if they were to turn those claws on my children. I'm all for providing a loving, caring home for my pets but they my CHILDREN come first.
Avatar m tn Hi I had the Symfony lens procedure for my left eye at the beginning of December ( in the UK). Unfortunately the lens displaced itself, tilting forward slightly so two weeks later the surgeon redid the op to reposition the lens. Apparently the astigmatism I had has been corrected (toric lens) but I am now slightly shortsighted (I had hoped for good vision overall). It has been suggested I could have laser surgery to correct this.
Avatar m tn It even states that taxidermists use them sometimes to get the hair off of animals. I can get my hair soft only briefly with olive oil or lavender lotion and lots of rubbing but then it is not more than an hour before starting from those bumps the hair gets all stiff and crunchy again. I am so scared. I already went through breast cancer and just want to be healthy. I am moving and hope things will be better but fear this infestation is on me!
Avatar f tn The good news is that he said it is not and will not become a tumor or cancer--the shin is just inflamed in response to the pigment. The doctor basically gave me the options of laser treatment to remove the tattoo or to cut the tattoo out which will leave a big scar. But I know this Dermatologist to be very conventional and mainstream his thinking so I am researching other options.
Avatar n tn It's an at home laser hair removal machine. It costs like $600 but I bought it since it would be cheaper than laser hair removal at the doctor. I hate to sound like an ad, but it seems to be working very well. About a little less than half of the hair is gone from my arms and armpits but I don't use it that much on my legs because of the itching after shaving. About a fourth of my leg hair is gone right now.
Avatar f tn I found a book online called The Atlas of Craniomaxillofacial Osteosynthesis Its a medical book for sale and you can only see a couple pages, but from the index there was a whole chapter on plate removal due to immunologic response. Also.... Allergic reactions to metal implants: Influence of wear debris Properties of implant materials and particles.
Avatar n tn The procedure I would like to learn about is for skin tag removal although my doctor said to just leave it and live with it since the pain is so excruciating that he would not want me to go through it. I just want to know from people who had this done and to learn just how extreme the pain is to remove a post hemorrhoid skin tag. I believe I'll be getting the banding done in 6 months upon my return visit appointment with the doctor.
Avatar n tn Shaving does not help it at all and i have been told its better to usr hair removal cream but not to sure if it helps! Dont be embarassed to get them checked out you would be surprised at how common these lumps are! I used to be to scared to get them looked at but i am glad i get them sorted out now its a lot less pain to deal with and with treatment i dont get as many!
