Common Questions and Answers about Hair dye without ammonia and peroxide

ammonia

1391695 tn?1298143389 My daughter is a stylist and does my hair and she could notice the thinning but no one at work seemed to notice. She uses only professional products which contained ammonia and peroxide and my hair didn't fall out any faster or become dry and brittle. In my opinion, having my hair done proffesionally kept my hair healthy because we colored only the roots and didn't overlap the color and expose already colored hair to the chemicals.
Avatar f tn Wash hair, shoulder and scalp thoroughly with a mild shampoo and 2% hydrogen peroxide solution. Compress the hair, shoulder and scalp with potassium permanganate in a 1:5000 dilution, to completely oxidize the PPD. A wet dressing of olive oil and lime may be used. Corticosteroid cream can also be applied. Also consult your doctor immediately regarding this. Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
Avatar f tn Is it safe to dye your hair? Im 27 weeks an 6days aaan im dying to dye my hair I cant stand the color I want it blinde what do you think?
496771 tn?1209698358 I used a product from Clairol Beautiful Collection, no ammonia, no peroxide, advanced solution for grey hair. Knowing I am allergic to hair dye, started to wash my hair to get all the residue out of my hair. Two hours later my whole head was on fire and itchy. Started putting ice and taking anti histamine, it gave me a little relief. Then I noticed my head is swollen. Four am in the morning, went to the ER.
2203249 tn?1338994046 I am not sure what the answer is to that, but I can guess. I would think that it would exacerbate the "hair loss" and "dry and brittle hair" symptoms, and also, that such harsh chemicals, could cause or make our rashes worse. Most of us get a rash, and mine makes the skin on my scalp very itchy! Others on this Forum have gotten eczema on their scalps, with the rash, and, and flaky skin on the scalp.
1396982 tn?1285326833 If you do dye your hair at home make sure you do it in a well ventilated area, so you don't breath it into much! and it is best to with an ammonia free hair dye. also be aware that when you cye your hair while pregnant there is always the chance that not all of it will color the same way because of the hormones. I dyed my hair at home with 2 out of 4 pregnancies and it came out just fine! Good luck and hope it gives you a boost.
Avatar n tn I AM 21 WEEKS AND I HAVE REAL BAD GRAY HAIR AND ASKED MY OB LIKE WHEN I WAS 14 WEEKS IF I COULD DYE MY HAIR AND SHE SAID THERE WAS NO PROBLEM THAT WHEN I DID DO IT FOR ME TO HAVE IT DONE IN A WELL VENTILATED AREA. I DID MINE AT HOME OUTSIDE ON MY BACK PORCH. AND SO FAR EVERYTHING SEEMS TO BE FINE. BUT THAT IS JUST ME AND WELL I GUESS IT FINALLY COMES DOWN TO WHAT YOU ARE COMFORTABLE WITH.GOOD LUCK AND GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR LITTLE ANGEL.
Avatar f tn have appt for allergy testing in a couple of weeks) I was excited to find the Act Naturals (from Advanced Technologies) line of hair dye, purchased it online, and had my hair colored last week. Within 24 hours, my symptoms returned: swelling, soreness, redness, itchiness of my scalp, ears, face and neck. Is it possible that the coloring process "reactivated" PPD that is likely still in my hair from hair coloring with a product containing PPD 6 weeks ago?
Avatar m tn Does not really matter if Im right or not, GIVE YOURSELF A GOOD HAIR COLORING ALSO BODY AND PUBIC AREA, AND LEAVE COLORING MORE TIME THAN IT SAYS. It has ammonia and peroxide and hair coloring (I looked it up) actually penetrates the hair. OUR HAIR IS INFECTED. That is where PATM lives and releases from. Please all need to get a $20 USB scope and see what I mean, but for now, this will do it. PLEASE POST BACK.
529981 tn?1212853666 My hair has also started to fall out and at the end of my hair, a white little grain is at the end. Hair will not stop falling out. I have gotten blood tests at a dermatology office and everything was normal. I also have tried about very type of zinc pyrithione shampoo, at the highest concentrations. Also I have tried, salycylic shampoos, tar shampoos, jojoba oil, AND nothing seems to help. Please help me and my hair.
Avatar f tn I've been using a hair colour for years from a company called Herbatint that is made in Italy. It's a vegetable dye with no ammonia and peroxide I buy at the local health food store. I tried it about 4 weeks into tx but found it irritated my scalp which I thought was strange. Your advice has helped me decide to not colour until well after EOT. I just cut off 6 inches to a short bob, as I have lost about 1/4 of my fine thin hair and yesterday I found 2 bald spots.
Avatar f tn i have the same thing every time i dye my hair and this just started my head gets all swolled up and itcy and then this last about a couple days and also my neck get swolled up to and one of my eyes looks like it chinesse and i cant stop doing my hair
Avatar n tn I think everything is over and I clean up. I walk out of the toilet and in about 2 minutes time the stomach cramp and the fainting sensation comes back (I've fainted only once to date from this and was out for about 15-20 minutes). 6. When I get back to the toilet I have a really violent Diarrhoea episode in pure liquid state.
3060903 tn?1398568723 I am doing my teenage daughter’s drain today and she has really long hair. Long hair means she uses lots of shampoo and conditioner. Using lots of shampoo and conditioner causes a build up of gunk in the drain, along with a bunch of hair washing down together, and it’s no wonder that the water can no longer get down the drain! Now comes the gross part. I’m not going to lie, sometimes the hair, soap, and conditioners smell really bad when you pull them out. They’re starting to rot.
Avatar n tn One girl was going to the prom that night and had had her hair done that morn and was so heartbroken that these flies and gnats were landing on and flying all around her head. And shooing them away didn't help either. I do know that there is a lot of spilled food gook all over the park(dried cola syrup, snow cone juice, smoothie spill residue, etc.) and if a person were to touch her body or scratch her head, this might transfer the bacteria to that area.
Avatar m tn The last year I have suffered from scalp redness, tenderness, red spots, red bumps with salt like granules at the end of the hair, black blue looking hairs that are thin then texture gets thicker, tingling like crawling, itching and hair thinning, hair loss, oily flakey and irritated scalp, black dots underneath hair and over all itchy skin. I was diagnosed by a GP and a Derm with Seborrheic Dermatitis and put on a corticosteroid solution and dhs shampoo.
Avatar n tn Some of these medicines are now available without prescription, such as miconazole (Monistat) and clotrimazole (Gyne-Lotrimin or Mycelex-G), and you may use then when you know you have a yeast infection. Also, Trichomonas vaginitis, which is sometimes called "trick," is the third most frequent vaginal infection. Like bacterial vaginosis, this infection often causes an increased amount of discharge, which may be Green, yellow, or gray in color; frothy.
Avatar n tn I will say that yesterday for the first time in a long time I began using the topical cream DUAC prescribed by my Dermatologist for acne. It is 1% clindamycin and 5% benzoyl peroxide, and as I write this it is forefront on my mind that this stuff may be the cause (there has to be an obvious link between my sudden reoccurrance and my recent use of this cream--yesterday). Perhaps some of the ingredients in this stuff are in something you use?
Avatar n tn i went three days without sleep and spent the majority of time on this damned contraption.
Avatar m tn i did it all! thought scabees and took those crazy baths, did the clothes thing, shaved all my hair, my room stunk from the chemicals - i isolated myself after six months of this i was in a constant state of hypertension, and started to experience psychological problems that have stayed with me. i could feel them crawling in my eyebrows and i used a magnifying glass to see them, but they were never there.
Avatar n tn Thanks to Duchess47, Wepst and JDanMan for your comments and suggestions. I will seriously look into all of your suggestions and hope that it's just some seasonal allergy thing. Thanks again.
