Gums swollen around wisdom tooth

Common Questions and Answers about Gums swollen around wisdom tooth

swollen

Avatar n tn My wisdom tooth is the one in front of the white patch. My wisdom tooth is pulled to the front from my braces after losing a tooth from a previous accident. Thank you for your help. Btw I just went to the dentist for a clean literally two days ago and dentist said my teeth are fine. Swollen gums started today. http://tinypic.
Avatar f tn It sounds like you have what we call pericornitis which is an infection of the gums around your wisdom tooth. A cleaning may remedy the situation temporarily but you may be prone to getting another infection in the future.

Avatar m tn he suggest if i extract the tooth beside the wisdom tooth (which is like only half expose from the gum), that might give the wisdom tooth space to grow, thus relieving the pain...so i did... After a week or so, the wound is ok and the gum starts to grow back... just when it seems like everything is going fine....i felt pain again... the pain was not from the wound area..it seems to come from the 2-3 teeths beside the extracted tooth... the pain was like inside the gum...
Avatar n tn I suggest that you go to the dentist to check it out and more than likely he/she will also want to extract the tooth. Most people like myself once the wisdom teeth start breaking through the gums we get them extratced because they cause nothing but problems and get pulled out anyway. So please see the dentist because if you have an infection and it is not taken care of properly you can cause alot of probelms and especially with your sinuses.
Avatar f tn why do I have my gums swollen on the lower right where the last wisdom tooth is at ? I also fill a lump in the curve where my gums end and cheek start. Its been three days now and is not going away.
Avatar n tn I had my permanent crown placed 10 days ago. . This was a tooth that had deep decay beneath an old filling. She said it was close to the root, but didn't do a root canal at this time. I went to have the bite adjusted twice since it was too high, and now the bite seems okay... it's slightly painful if I bite down hard though. But for the past few days the inside of my mouth - cheeks, lips, back of throat - have felt puffy and irritated. Certain foods even burn the back of my throat.
Avatar f tn One day my left eye swelled and has been watery ever since then I notice a few weeks later like 2 that I was getting terrible pain in the back of my mouth. My gums felt swollen and I think they bled alittle. They are my wisdom teeth I went to a dentist but ever since I feel feverish. I have a low grade fever a lot. My teeth are killing me all the time well the wisdom teeth. Does this sound like from my wisdom teeth coming through?
Avatar n tn My question is that ever since I have quit smoking and had my wisdom tooth taken out, I've noticed soreness in my upper back area, and on the lower mollars there is blackening around my crowns. My mouth has a bad taste and odor to it as well. I've been using an electric tooth brush, and floss alone with listerine. Do I need to make another dentist apt. or is there something I can do to get rid of the blackness and odor?
Avatar f tn Hi - I was at the doctor two weeks ago because I had an infection around my wisdom tooth (periodontist I believe it's called). I had this a few years ago so I knew what it was immediately. The doctor put me on amoxicillian and it feels all better. However, about a week ago I started getting a few small sores around the gums on the other side of my mouth. I thought maybe I was just getting canker sores (had these before too).
Avatar f tn They would try to break through my gums, leaving me with swollen, aching gums. I would chew gum all the time just to give myself something to do - plus, for some reason, it would take the 'edge' off the pain. I went through that for several months until I had them all out at once. I was 17 and quite relieved. As long as that tooth stays where it is, there is the chance that it will apply pressure to the teeth nearby and cause shifting.
Avatar n tn Well I had my wisdom tooth pulled on Monday. It had to be the worst experience. After 2 1/2 hrs of grinding, pulling, pushing and cutting, the doctor gave up and had to send me to someone else.My appt was at 9:00 and I left at 12:30.The next dentist couldn't get me in until 3:00.By the time I got to that appt all the numbing shots wore off and they had to numb me all over again. That dentist took another 1 1/2 hours to get it out.
Avatar f tn Me right here !!
Avatar n tn Now, I have suddenly popped an unknown blister on my gums, right where my gums meet my tongue, under my wisdom tooth. The open blister is on the gums, I cannot see it, and it does not hurt, even when I drink or touch it. Could be oral herpes? I see nothing around the area, nothing is swollen, and only the side of the opening (which is all I can see) is red. There are no other blisters.
Avatar m tn Thank you for the reply! For the sake of money, I hope it's all in his head but I hope he doesn't have to suffer with these symptoms for long. I looked at his gums yesterday around the tooth and they're not red, inflamed, or swollen so it doesn't appear to be infected to me. He made a follow up appointment with the endodontist for tomorrow. The endodontist did mention when he was there last week that it may have been a wisdom tooth that was causing his pain.
Avatar f tn My wisdom tooth came in a week ago and my gums were very swollen and I couldn’t open my mouth all the way. Now the swelling is down, I’m able to eat again, and the pain is gone. But I am still not able to open my mouth all the way. What can I do to fix this?
Avatar f tn On the bottom left of my mouth behind the last tooth the gums hurt really bad, even if I eat just a banana. Could it be my wisdom tooth? How do I tell? Or do I just have to wait it out?
Avatar f tn However, my cheek (on my jawline) is still swollen and puffy (not hard, just puffy), as are the gums around the extraction site and the tooth adjacent to the extraction site. When I brush around the wound, the wound itself does not bleed, but the gums beside it do bleed (minimally) and I'm scared. I had my tooth pulled at a dental school and because the tooth was "hooked", it took 2 students and 1 OS resident over 2 hours to get the tooth out.
Avatar m tn I have the feel it is my wisdom tooth trying to force its way in and moving the teeth on the right side. If i poke around the back on the areas i think i can actually feel the tooth under the gums. I am guessing that isnt good. Is that scenario possible?
Avatar n tn I have an area of my gums, upper left side, right beside a crown, where it swelled up. It's been swelled up for about two weeks now. There's no pain in or around the crown or the swollen gums, little discomfort, just a little swollen area about the size of a small pea, that's covering about half of the tooth with the crown. As far as I know it wasn't brought on by eating hot food.
Avatar n tn I have been having problems with a wisdom tooth for about a year. It will pop through, and then go back down. I have always been able to handle the pain, but this time it's much worse. My face and neck are swollen, and all around the tooth my gums feel like they're filled with fluid.I also have a bit of pain in my ear. Is this typical of a tooth coming in, or should I see a dentist?
Avatar f tn the objective is not to let food particles accumulate around the affected tooth. For permanent solution...get the tooth extracted since it is a wisdom tooth or get the coronal flap removed.
Avatar n tn ve had labs done, saw an ent, had a scope done, saw a dentist, saw my pcp..no answers. I have swollen gums where my wisdom tooth would be on the lower right side, my neck hurts on that side, I feel like I have something in my throat, and my ear hurts when I swallow. It's worse when I'm stuffed up. My jaw hurts sometimes too.
Avatar n tn I have a swollen like bump on my gum on the bottom row in the front.... it is very tender and sore... this morning when i woke up it was leaking pus what can it be?? it feels like my wisdom teeth are pushing everything forward and the two teeth are crammed.... could it be a cold sore??
Avatar n tn Im currently on the waiting list to have all 4 removed) Yesterday the gums around the tooth became very sore and I woke up last night to discover that the gum had swollen and there was alot of pain which is effecting all the gum up to the tonsil on the left side of my mouth. So I was just wondering if anyone could let me know if HIV ARS can effect already existing mouth problems? Is it possible for things already happening in the mouth to become worse as HIV ARS is starting to take effect?
