I have done some research and it appears that clomid can dry up cervical mucus in some people.But if you take robitussin that contains the ingredient (guaifenesin) only and take 1 teaspoon morning and night its supposed to help.But you only take it after your period ends and stop when you ovulate.Drinking a daily glass of grapefruit juice also helps as does eating sweet potato or yams.I am using conceive plus also which is a lubricant similar to preseed.

My 1 year old, Olde English Bulldog weights around 60 lbs jumped on counter about 3 hours ago and ate 2 Mucinex-d from packaging. There was 3 pills left in package and 2 are missing, The third pill looked chewed on but was left on the ground packaging is all chewed up. Mucinex D active ingredients are 600 mg guaifenesin and 60 mg pseudoephedrine. Please help do i need to take to emergency vet or will he be ok? he has been acting ok and he has eaten his food and drink water since.

Hi i can confirm that the cough syrup is robitussin chesty cough medicine that contains (guaifenesin) only.Its in a red and black box.I have never noticed my cervical mucus ever before and this was my first month on clomid.I took robitussin every morning and evening (5ml dose).You only take it after AF has ended and stop when you ovulate.I drank a glass of grapefruit juice every morning as its supposed to help CM too.

This helps calm the effects of allergy drainage, which can upset the stomach and cause a sore throat. The other thing I do is take 1200 mg. guaifenesin (Mucinex or generic), once in the morning and again at bedtime. This thins mucus so that it *will* drain, also allowing the throat more moisture. t have guaifenesin in it while is suppose to help thin out your cervical mucus so I saw that I had Mucinex D left over so I was going to try and see if that works this month. Also if you do not do well with elixirs you may want to take Mucinex instead. It is Guaifenesin as well in an oral tablet form. You are supposed to use this before you ovulate and not after because Guaifenesin is thought to cross the placental barrier which means your fetus would be exposed to it. I have no clue what affect it has on the fetus. My body has always produced alot of EWCM, but I noticed when I used Guaifenesin, it increased my cervical mucus even more. I hope this helps friend.

Guaifenesin, how much is an Overdose? My daughter 11 years old 100 lbs (big for her age), took (the correct dose) 5mL cough and cold medicine that had the following in that dose. Guaifenesin, USP 100 mg, Dextromethorpan HBr, USP 10 mL. Phenylephedrine HCI, USB 5mg. But then she also took (the correct dose) 10 mg of a prescription medicine Guaifenesin-Codeine syrup (generic for Robitussin AC syrup). It doesn't state on the label the quantity of Guaifenesin mg in the 5mL dose.

hey I need to know this answer also! I do know you only need the plain kind, nothing else should be in it just guaifenesin. If you get the one with that is mixed it can have the opposite reaction. Also you need to drink plenty of water!! YOu have to do this in order for it to work. I just started taking clomid and i read to start the guaifenesin on day 10 till ovulation. On a website for fertility i read that you need to take 200mg three times a day!

The alternative is guaifenesin, which you can buy over-the-counter. Mucinex contains guaifenesin, but I would get the plain guaifenesin. It works very well.

yes, well sort of. It's Guaifenesin an ingredient found in cough meds. You can usually find a store brand of robitussin that has only Guaifenesin in it. The ingredient is made to break up mucus, but if taken while you ovulate it can make your CM more compatible with sperm.

I got a cold last Halloween and then conceived in November. Unfortunately I MC in Jan. Then I got a real bad flu in March and now am 31 weeks pregnant. Robitussin/Robitussin dm is what I ob said is safe, but for some reason it didn't work for me, also don't use Nyquil is bad and has alcohol in it. I would call your local pharmacy, they can tell you what you can use. I also use lemon cough drops, which my ob said was safe to use, mucinex, or hot lemon water works good too.

Both EPO and guaifenesis can help with CM, just make sure you use cough medicine where guaifenesin is the only ingredient (like plain Robitussin), as some of the other ones contain ingredients that could be harmful in early pregnancy. You would take it for a few days leading up to ovulation. Good luck this month!

Hiya the health shop i use maybe a bit far away for you.i live in the uk.but im sure you would be able to purchase it at any health store,if not try ebay.guaifensin is available at any chemist or supermarket,its a medicine for chesty coughs.you dont need a prescription.as long as the label just say guaifenesin with no letters before it then its fine,ask in your chemist.i found all these thing helped me,im now playing the waiting game.good luck to you.
