Avatar f tn He did more blood work and saw my IgG levels were high, my white blood count was high and I tested positive for ANA. I was then sent to a dermatologist who did a biopsy and more blood work. The biopsy showed Urticaria Vasculities and blood showed my SPEP levels were off and he suggested a hemotologist...I am at loss for words and at the end of the rope.
Avatar f tn What they do is give you a value which comes from a analyzer that gives the white blood cell count and red blood cell count, platelet count etc. and if this is abnormal they do a manual count which is under the microscope and they read the number of cells. The normal range for lab tests can vary depending on their control values and type of instruments they use.
Avatar m tn To determine the relevance of your monocyte count if your white blood cell count is abnormal you would have to first determine if your white blood cell count is too high or too low. Then you would determine which of your white blood cells subtypes is most abnormal. This would give you a medical name for your condition which could be used to find possible conditions that you may have. When you look at your CBC though you really need to look at the results as a whole picture.
Avatar f tn I feel the need to add information in case someone with MS did an internet search for this information. Having a low WBC does not indicate that you do not have MS. People diagnosed with MS take disease modifying drugs among a combination of other drugs. Many of these drugs tend to lower the patients white blood cell count.
Avatar m tn Well if all of his other blood results came back normal and only his white blood cell count was high it would be pointing to an infection. A very high white blood cell count would indicate a serious infection. You may want to see another specialist or doctor.
Avatar m tn Hi my question is can you have a lowered white blood cell count from 1 binge night of drinking. I am not a person who drinks regularly but when I do drink I don't stop. This past Sat I have no idea how much i had to drink. I was very hung over the next day then the next day and still sick on the 3rd day by day 4 I decided to go into the ER. They found the following: Neutrophil 1.5, lemphocyte 1.1 leukocyte 3.0 monocyte0.1. So most of my white blood cells were low.
Avatar n tn But I do know for a fact that elevated white blood cell count in blood means an infection could be present in your body. White bloods increase to fight off infection.
744962 tn?1270942038 So can hashi's raise the white blood cell count? I've never been tested for it. But the last CBC I had my white blood cell count was on the verge of high. It was like 9.5 out of 11. I didn't have any infection that I was aware of.
Avatar n tn I don't think I've ever heard of Fibro effecting the blood cell count either; usually something that lowers your white blood cell count is more serious; I don't want to scare you, but I'd have it looked into in greater depth if I were you, or your wife. I know that Fibro, and it's bigger, uglier brother, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, can create all kinds of symptoms in one's body depending on how the syndrome effects their individual body chemistry.
Avatar m tn The most common cause of increase white blood cell count is infection. High white blood cell count is an increase in disease-fighting cells (leukocytes) circulating in your blood. High white blood cell count is also called leukocytosis. It is flu/cold season. Nothing to do with hepatitis C. Cheers!
Avatar f tn The number of white blood cells (WBCs) in the blood. The WBC is usually measured as part of the CBC (complete blood count). White blood cells are the infection-fighting cells in the blood. There are different types of white blood cells, including neutrophils (polymorphonuclear leukocytes; PMNs), band cells (slightly immature neutrophils), T-type lymphocytes (T cells), B-type lymphocytes (B cells), monocytes, eosinophils, and basophils.
Avatar f tn I have a white blood cell count of 30,000 and was told by the doctor that I have a IBS and that having such a high white blood cell count is normal for people with Irritable Bowel Syndrome. I recently had x-rays, and upper GI and colonscopy completed and nothing was found. So they said it is IBS and gave me a precription for Benetyl. Only problem is I still am sick, dizzy, my stomach is swollen and hurts and I keep getting like vertigo episodes. Like I am going to pass out.
Avatar f tn I asked the specialist if the white cell count was due to the sulfa drug, but she indicated that she had blood work back for awhile before the medication and my white cell count has been low for a long time so it is not the drug. she has referred me back to my doctor who will then need to refer me on to someone else. Since getting the last reading I have developed another infection and now have a thin white foam on my tongue with a terrible taste in my mouth which will not go away.
Avatar m tn 35 T3 and T4 normal, my anti thyroidal peroxidase antibody was high at 70U/L He also said that my white cell count was high, not sure if that is mentioned in the figures I just mentioned.he did an anxiety test it did come in a littler high but nothing serious, he gave my some anti- anxiety tablets, but told me it could be from my thyroid not being normal.

Avatar m tn It can also be accompanied by an elevated platelet count or white blood cell count (typically neutrophils are the type of white blood cell that are increased). Lymphocytes (percent or absolute) are not generally decreased. If this is the only abnormality, the diagnosis is not likely polycythemia vera. Hope this was helpful. Good luck.
