Avatar n tn why after almost two years do I still have graves symptoms.
Avatar f tn I been hyperthyroid numerous times but one time I was hyperthyroid for a couple of months from a condition called hashitoxicosis. I do have hashimoto's thyroiditis but for those two months I also had Graves antibodies causing hyperthyroid symptoms.
Avatar f tn I know how you feel about all the feelings you are having now..I have just been diagnosed with hyperthyroid and possibly having Hashi's but i'm having a symptoms of Graves or hyperthyroid, my blood work is elevated not too high though,,,experience with my symptoms sometimes, i cried for no reason at all, or maybe just being depressed about having this disease......you should find yourself another doctor who will listen to you and give you result....
Avatar f tn Is drinking alchol really dangerous with Graves Disease? Would I ever be able to drink?
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with Hyperthyroidism and they did an antibody test to confirm Graves. The antibodies were positive therefore they have said it is Graves Disease ie not caused by a nodule but autoimmune. Does this test definitely rule out a nodule? I ask because I have MS and B12 deficiency which are autoimmune conditions. Would I not have tested positive for antibodies anyway because I have MS and B12? Im just worried they have missed something as they have not done a scan.
10771583 tn?1412675389 It should be pointed out that, especially in the US literature, the term ‘hashitoxicosis’ is sometimes used to describe an autoimmune thyroid disease overlap syndrome of Graves’ and Hashimoto’s disease. In this article the term is strictly limited to the ‘leakage’ symptoms of active Hashimoto’s disease.
Avatar f tn I have seen endocrinologist. He advises symptoms are not Graves disease as my levels are now in normal range. I am fortunate that I have a caring family doctor that is persistent. I have seen a neurologist and next having ultrasound and seeing a internist. Couple of facts. Initially in July when diagnosed I had slight tremors once on thyroid med/tapolzole the shaking got worst and I ended up in the hospital. The endocrinologist said it was Graves/my symptoms.
Avatar f tn I am a 25 y/o female diagnosed with hyperthyroidism at 16 and later with Graves Disease and Goiter. I have been on Tapazol along with Atenelol (for the Tachacardia) off and on for the past 9 years with no results. Every doc I see wants to discuss nothing but RAI or surgery. My husband and I have been trying to conceive for a few years with no success. I finally found out that I was pregnant the beginning of last year and made it to 4 months and suffered a miscarriage for no apparent reason.
Avatar n tn Scary thought... I have had all the symptoms of graves Disease, Hyperthyroid since I was 13 or 14... including the hand and head tremors. A large lump on my throat that as I approached forty was very visible. Always thin unti, about two years prior to my thyroid going wild. I thought I was dying, instead of my hands and head shaking like a person with parkinsons, my entire body shook. My heart was racing at 160 to 170 a minute at times but most always around 140.
Avatar n tn My interenist suspected Graves, ergo the reason for the tests. My concern is that I have some of the classic symptoms of Graves, but my test results show me to be in the normal range. I'm wondering if others have had their values fall in the normal range but second level testing (e.g., radioactive iodine test) revealed a problem.
542445 tn?1215132963 I had a lot of symptoms of Graves without the hyperthyroid, but over the last 18 months some symptoms started getting worse and 3+ wks ago the hyperthyroid kicked in with a vengeance. It was right before a surgery I was really nervous and stressed about I noticed the hyperthyroid symptoms starting. I never had the antibody test done, one because I didn't know about it and two because with the "normal" test results doctors didn't move forward with any other testing.
110220 tn?1309306861 The other 20% are caused by a few other issues with the Thyroid such as nodules. I was hoping that I had a hyperthyroid period. Graves disease sounds depressing and deadly. I know that it isn't deadly and people live normal lives once under control.
Avatar n tn Can long term hyperthyroid turn into hypothyroid, seems like that may have happened to me. Also wondering if being on prednisone for many years (mostly low dose, maybe 2x high a year) can cause thyroid prob, I have ra (arthritis) which also wonder if caused hyperthyroid then burned out into hypo? I am home bound and trying to find out what I need, are family has been exposed to radiation iodine 131 from nuk plant from hanford,wa. all help is needed thank you.
522070 tn?1233756919 The number I have seen is that less than 5% of those with Graves/hyperthyroid develop the eye disease associated with the thyroid disease. The eye disease is actually caused by different antibodies than those that cause the thyroid disease. Sometimes people have the eye problems and never have thyroid problems. Treatment of hyperthyroidism does not treat Graves Eye Disease.
Avatar m tn I have been dealing with symptoms of hyper thyroid for almost two months now and am very frustrated. My hair is falling out, I sweat at the drop of a hat, lose my temper over the tiniest thing and my eyes have swelling and irritation. I finally saw an endo last week and she thinks I have Graves but my test results today show free T3 and T4 within the normal range even though TSH is suppressed.
Avatar f tn I have early stages of graves disease. I have only a high t3 according to normal levels, but all the symptoms...full blown. How do I get someone to treat me based on symptoms, not numbers? My levels in June were tsh 3.7 t4 7.0 freet4 2.6 this week they are tsh 2.68 t4 10.4 t3 40 freet4 4.2 how bad do they have to be to get atm meds? help! They put me on clonazepam too, doesn't that cause hyperthyroid to worsen?
Avatar n tn If you don't mind. I see you posts starts out as Graves Disease and you are looking for a surgeon? While I would have to do some checking around on this can you post the reason for the removal? - Is it for Graves disease?
