Avatar f tn Elaine Moore tends to believe that immunotherapy (allergy shots) makes Graves Disease worse, and can possibly bring on the Graves Eye Disease. She recommends that allergies be treated with the cortisone-type nose sprays and antihistimines instead, because of the nature of an autoimmune disease. I was about to start shots, but now I am reconsidering. Does anyone have information on this subject? Thanks!
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with graves disease and had the radioactive treatment to destroy it a few years back. I have had a few times where I did not have my meds for a week at a time. Is it normal to feel so tired and cranky? Also I took Zirtec for my allergies and I felt like I was cloudy and just wanted to sleep and tightness in my chest..... I am currently on 137 mcg of Levothyroxine.
Avatar n tn fatigue, eye problems (swelling, pain, extreme sensitivity to light, and redness) arm numbness and tingly, burning pain off and on in my right thigh, frequent urination at night, I get really hot and start to sweat and I have noticed muscle weakness. I just feel like sometimes people think you make these kind of things up. I just want to feel like myself again. Any advice on what kind of doctor I should be seeing or what my symptoms sound like would be of great help. I appreciate your time.
Avatar n tn Had some blood work done within these two weeks, followed by more bloodwork, was sent to a specialist and was told that I have Graves disease along with Hep C. Needless to say I am surprised and overwhelmed. In the past three days I have started on Tapazole, 5mg a day, and I am still getting hives this whole time, along with increased fatigue. In the past 6 years I have developed allergies (hives) from many antibiotics, where before the only allergies I used to experience were seasonal.

I've been to the er about 6 times over this and they say I'm fine.

Avatar f tn she gave 100mg of methymazole, after a month i started having this ugly muscle pain and in my blood results show problems with liver and kidneys and nobody listen to me , so i had to change specialist, then he run some test. When i went back to get my results he told me to get the radiation that it's my only option because i have severe hyperthyroidism.I went to get like a scan of my thyroid and a reading on my thyroid.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism & Graves disease 5 years ago, but am currently not treated for it. I had a large nodule biopsied 3 years ago (it had been growing) and it came back normal. My levels have not been terrible for the past few years, so there was no reason to treat. I am now having a medical issue that started 5/1/2012 with a very sudden onset, but my endocrinologist does not think it's related.
