Avatar f tn The other thing to do is feel comfortable with who you are now, and focus on the fact that you are trying to lose weight. Good self esteem is good in life. Also, if you cheat, don't beat yourself up over it, start dieting again immediately and don't do what I've done before in the past which is think, well, I've had a donut, so I've ruined it for the day so I might as well eat whatever else I want to eat the rest of the day now.
1663460 tn?1327503811 I know water is the best to drink, but is like no calorie drinks bad or good for you? Like diet soda, zero cal flavored water or gatorade, stuff like that. I just would like to know please!
526889 tn?1212540641 For your age you need 1500 calories daily to safely lose weight. I would recommend a Heart Healthy diet which is a moderate fat diet. Moderate fat diet means = use polyunsaturated (omega 3, corn oil, nuts, etc) fats and monounsaturated (olive oil, canola oil, peanut oil, etc) fats, no saturated fats (high fat snack foods, butter, fat spreads) and no trans fats.
Avatar f tn I have decided to change my dogs diet to the Canine Cancer Diet... low carb, high fat, high protein, homecooked. I have already added fish oil supplement (human grade) I squeeze it out of the liquid capsule and the same for Vitamin E. First... I have read conflicting information about the types of Omegas some say you need 3 & 6, while others say not to Omega 6 because it can cause cancer to grow. Omega 3&6 OR Omega 3???

1008841 tn?1293598960 I really can’t envision anything else that might be of more importance to you; you’re full compliance could be critical to your survival. Good luck; Duke has an excellent GI and transplant facility; if you can get back to them, you’ll be in very good hands.

Avatar m tn Now I have tried everything to get it down and nothing works so it looks like I need to take these statins. What are your thoughts? Should I continue to try to watch my diet ( I like too many sweet things) and not begin the statins or begin taking them? If I do take them will they be of benefit for the HBV as I seem to be clearing it? Thank you to all the great posters here for helping and guiding us with your great knowledge of the virus and ways to help.
Avatar n tn Can anyone give me tips on a good diet plan or food to eat to lose fat and weight?
Avatar f tn No alcohol and just eat healthy, as much organic as possible, whole/raw foods, whole grains, lots of fruit and veggies, green/white tea, as little processed food as possible. Try to use unscented stuff, filtered water, natural cleaning products. Discuss any supplements with your Dr for sure, but B complex with higher B12 and vitamin D3 are good starters. None of this will stop liver damage, but at least you won't be contributing.
Avatar m tn I MUST stress that you can not overcome hypothyroidism in the sense of just doing as he advises (diet, herbal remedies etc) You CAN use these to help you but you will NOT cure it! Pleased be warned. Anti-bodies will not be cured by diet. Even when the thyroid is removed many people still have high anti-bodies. ( I am one of them and I saw a Naturopath and changed my diet etc, feel slightly better but was not to lower my anti-bodies when I saw him!) Anti-bodies are in at a cellular level.
Avatar m tn But TOTALLY doable to get off of them and live a normal life. Good luck to you! And congrats for wanting to quit. Feel free to message me if you want any suggestions for getting through those early days - I'm happy to share.
3060903 tn?1398565123 Good fat lowers triglycerides. It is recommended you consume a moderate fat diet to lower cholesterol and triglycerides. A moderate fat diet means using polyunsaturated (omega 3, corn oil, nuts, etc) fats and monounsaturated (olive oil, canola oil, peanut oil, etc) fats, no saturated fats (high fat snack foods, butter, fat spreads) and no trans fats.
Avatar f tn Meth during pregnancy can be very detrimental to the baby. It can cause a baby to be very small at birth or to be born very premature. It can also cause multiple various birth defects. But because of the few times you used and so early in pregnancy, there is a good chance that your baby will be OK.
Avatar n tn Gee, my other posts just showed up -- and the forum seems to have suddenly shifted back to the old format. Boy it's getting time consuming to use this website, ain't it?
Avatar f tn Okay I have struggled with my weight all my life and I desperately need to lose. I have PCOS and high blood pressure. I am currently taking metformin and lebetalol. I have been watching what I eat and exercising, I recently joined the gym, that helped before, but I have never been an appropriate weight. I have lost 20 pounds and it has stopped. It doesn't seem to matter what I do the scale won't budge. I am trying to find some type of diet that I can live with the rest of my life.
Avatar m tn Starvation diet will tend to put your body into preservation mode in which it realizes there isn't enough food coming in and metabolism will slow down. If you do lose weight, it will only be water weight, not fat and whatever you lose, will be regained as soon as you start eating... Definitely not healthy and would be considered an eating disorder for which you need medical attention.
706214 tn?1244523049 It sounds like you might just need to ask whomever does your cooking to try not to use a lot of fat for food preparation and add lots of fresh fruits and veggies, plus watch your portion sizes, along with staying active.
