I finally got this 3 hr sugar test done. My poor little vein has had it. So this maybe dumb but I didn't know they had to stick u every hour on the hour and once before.
Had blood test done a week ago we have yet to hear anything from the doctor.

-DO YOU MEAN THAT IF THEY (HOME ACCESS) HAD ANY PROBLEM WITH MY BLOOD SAMPLE THAT THEY COULD NOT TEST IT AND I WOULD HAVE TO BE TOLD THAT THEY COULD NOT TEST IT BECAUSE OF THE TAPE OR WHATEVER CONTAMINATED IT ? I USE HOME ACCESS BECAUSE IT IS CLEARED BY THE FDA, JUST TO BE ON THE SAFE SIDE. ALSO, BECAUSE I GOT WORD BACK FROM MY DOCTOR THAT I NOW HAVE DIABETES, HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE, HIGH CHOLESTROL AND A PROBLEM WITH MY LIVER, COULD ANY OF THAT EFFECT MY RESULTS ? I LOOK FOWARD TO YOUR ANSWER.
I had my glucose test done today. when I left the dr i read my script for the ultra sound it said size not consistent with dates. All she used in the office was a measuring tape. And said she wanted to send me for an ultra sound to see how he looks but why on my script did they write this and when I called to ask of course they turned their phones off for the weekend and I'm freaking out!! What could this mean?
I went for my 34 wk appointment (I'm 33+6) and midwife used measuring tape to measure my belly. Im 1cm smaller than supposed to be. Is there a reason to be worried? I've been scheduled for a scan before 36wks to measure baby and hope it all goes well. I've also been diagnosed with GD but wouldn't that make me at risk of having a larger baby? A few blood tests will also be done and they said if my blood glucose isn't stable, baby might need to be delivered earlier.
In Jan 2000 I was diagnosed with type two diabetes. My A1C was 9.1 and fasting glucose was 375. I was sedantary, very over weight and had very poor dietary habits. My diabetes doctor told me that there were three factors that I needed to consider in controlling my glucose levels.
1. Intake--food and fluids
2. Exercise
3. Medicines--oral or injected as the situation warrants
I have been on oral medications for over 8 years.
Because if your glucose is too on the screening test you will need to take the full glucose tolerance test (diagnostic test). Which is a pain.
I failed my 1 hour test (1 point too high) so had to do the full three hour test. For this you do have to fast for at least 8-10 hours before the test. You have to drink twice as much sugar water (100 gm). And you have to wait there while they take multiple blood samples in that ttime.
So I have my glucose test in the morning. I'm sure I was told I'm not allowed to eat or drink anything from now until the test in the morning, does anyone know if this includes water?
