Avatar n tn It would help to know the make/model of your glucose meter. This way we could search the availability and low cost pricing of these unknown test strips. You can start by writing to the mfg to see if they offer free or reduced cost supplies. You also can search for and inquire at free clinics in your area. Use Google search for free clinics XXX, ZZ, where XXX is your city and ZZ the state. Another source which provides links to "free" diabetic supplies is http://tinyurl.
Avatar n tn No Rx required for test strips. Try wherever you purchased the glucose test meter, or online at Amazon or web sites like americandiabeteswholesale.
282955 tn?1394730951 They don't show a pic of the pee strips, so I'm not sure which one they are selling. I have bought many from ebay and they have all been fine. The ones that look like the inside of a $tree one can be iffy(false pos). I also buy a lot from saveontests dot com. They sell the strips and the sticks. The strips are economical, but I really like the cheapo sticks from there better. They run about .
Avatar f tn I have not found any glucose test strip company that offers discounts for the uninsured, but you will find many brands of test strips on eBay for 50% (or greater) off the normal price. Just be sure to buy unopened boxes only and always check the expiration dates. I've had good experiences buying my son's strips this way since he turned 21 and no longer qualified for Medicaid. He uses the One Touch Ultra, which normally sell for $1 per strip, but I can usually buy them for about .
Avatar f tn Where can I get a bunch of test strips for ovulating for cheep. I am trying and trying to conceive but I haven't had any sucess at it. So I have been very down for a long time. I don't know if I will ever conceive at times I give up and at others I just keep pressing in and it gets hard daily.
212350 tn?1376428115 Hmm, ur in USA im guessing. Im in the UK, but for me personally, i buy the test strips of both OPK and HPT, one for cost and two because u can literally afford to POAS anytime u like without breaking the bank. Only downfall is u have to determine yourself if either are a + or - unlike the smiley face Ovulations tests u can buy. Ebay are always a good place to buy, i get all mine from Ebay. But the UK one. Ive just had a look around Ebay for u.
Avatar m tn Also many people report buying strips on eBay for greatly reduced prices. I would talk to your doctor or a local clinic, though, because sometime there are special offerings for free diabetes supplies through pharmaceutical companies, etc. I also notice right on this site ads for free supplies through dlifedotcom. They are a reputable organization.
Avatar f tn If repeated testing is required, buying the test strips in bulk may be beneficial. Some stores may offer strips at a reduced rate. You could discuss with a pharmacist as to what would be the most suitable option. Hope this is helpful. Take care!
Avatar m tn I did something really dumb today and now I'm scared. I was unclogging a toilet when some of the water splashed my hands. I have open wounds on my hands. When I looked down into the toilet I saw some used blood glucose test strips. I didn't see any blood. I immediately washed my hands with plenty of soap. About 1-3 minutes later I washed my hands again 3 times. About 10 minutes after that I washed my hands twice more and disinfected them with alcohol.
Avatar f tn Ive been using these ovulation test strips and never seem to get a clear positive result. Has anyone else had this or are they just a waste of money?
1813627 tn?1337722375 Hi there! I'm not sure if you're talking about the CVS brand or just kits from there in general but for several months now I've been using the "answer" brand strips. I think there's like 18 in a box, something like that and I really like them alot. I always test around 10 or 11a.m and they've always been accurate. There were several times I'd chart my BBT as well just to confirm and after having positive matches I just stick with the strips from now on.
Avatar f tn I haven't used the First response kit, but I can tell you that I don't reccomend Answer Ovulation Kit. The test strips were hard to read and in the pack of 20 about 7 of the strips were defective. Good luck.
866901 tn?1505506236 In googling "blood glucose test strips", I found several websites which offered test strips and glucometers at varying prices (ie.http://www.diabetesnet.com/test_strips.php). Since your cat is going to need lifelong care, it will pay for you to shop around.
Avatar f tn i currently use one touch monitor and strips. The strips come in packs of 25. Script is for 50 a month. Barely enough to test for one month- 2x a day. I am paying 18.00 for 50 even with good insurance. Any way to bring this down? Any other meters and strips that are less expensive?
Avatar n tn Thanks to both of you. As far as I know, the meter is OK and the test strips are well within expiration. The doctor is very, very hesitant to write a prescription for test strips, so I buy them. It's absurb because with my insurance I could test four times a day free. As it is now, I really hoard the test strips. Yes, I try to watch the carbs and sugars, though I fell off the wagon during the Christmas days and that's probably why I'm showing the higher numbers.
Avatar n tn is this necessary? do i need the glucose test if my blood sugar test came back just fine??? thanks for the help !
Avatar f tn He said I could have breakfast like two eggs and so i did maybe that made my test high.....Now I have to make an appt. for the 3hour glucose test.....I hope I don't have gestational diabetes that scares me....I have never had that with my other pregnancies....I'm scared! What happenes when you do have diabetes? Does it go away after birth? What should I do before taking this other test? Can someone advise? Thanks!
866901 tn?1505506236 Just two days ago I bought a ReliOn Micro glucose meter at Walmart for $12.00. A box of ReliOn Micro test strips (50) only cost $21.94. I don't know if this will help. I haven't learned how to use it yet. It's a very small meter and needs no coding. My Vet didn't mention buying a meter, but I went ahead any way. So far I have taken her in once for a glucose test and will be taking her again the end of the week.
Avatar f tn Buying ovulation strips from ebay in bulk helps alot most come with pregnancy strips as well. Good luck. Ive been through multiple miscarriages...u can try again whenever ur ready and feel comfortable.
Tbd The start up kit also came with a discount card than lowered the test strips to about $15 per 50 test strips. I only test once a day in the morning unless I have any issues, so the test strips last a little longer than one that needs to test 3+ times per day.
Avatar f tn Second, does your home meter require calibration to test strips? Do the test strips have an expiration date? Can you see a doctor and get tested properly? Ask for an A1c which will average your past 2-3 months glucose levels. The results are presented in percentile [%] which when converted to eAG [estimated Average Glucose] tells you what your daily glucose was. This will tell you your status - normal, prediabetes, or diabetic.
Avatar f tn I've recently been diagnosed with Type II Diabetes and started testing my blood glucose at home with the One Touch Ultra 2 monitor. The test strips that I've been given are pre-coded, so I do not have to do anything to my monitor prior to testing, other than insert the strip.
689528 tn?1364135841 I'm sick of spending so much on HPT's and would like to get some cheapies. I was buying some at the dollar store but they stopped selling them. early-pregnancy-tests.com..anyone buy them from there? Any other website have anything good? Any Canadian websites?
