glucose test empty stomach

Okay so i had my glucose test this past friday and is it normal to throw up after its over? I sat the two hours and everything then when i got home it was like all of a sudden i was really sick. But ive been fine ever since.

Aww...I'm sorry hope u feel better! I took mine just this morning. I thought it was gonna be horrible from what most people said...but surprisingling it wasn't for me! I had the orange flavor and I did it first thin in the morning so all I had before was a sip of water ( I'm not a big drinker so I has to save space). I drank it down bit by bit on an empty stomach...then slept until the hour was over :) I'm alive and well with the exception or burping orange every few mins!!!!

I'm gagging the whole time, but I finish and I'm so proud of myself lol. You know how you have to wait an hour? I'm like 10 mins from being called when I start feeling horrible and I run to the bathroom and vomit it all up. Thank god! The nurse said I was still okay because it was in my system long enough.

m supposed to go with an empty stomach so I called the clinic today and asked if I could switch the time But the stupid nurse said no because I also have an appointment with the doctor to check the heartbeat . and she sad I could Eat something if I want ! I'm confused , people are telling me I'm supposed to go empty stomach and the appointment supposed to be early in the morning -_- so does that mean I'm going to fail the test since ima have to eat ?????

Stay away from anything sugary before you get the test done as it can affect results. Some people do better on an empty stomach and some don't. If you pass no further testing gets done. If you fail, you will have to go back for the 3 hour test.

You have to go on an empty stomach other than water. I made that same mistake not knowing I had to fast and ate a banana. Make sure you bring a good book. It's a boring test, but worth it.

Yeah I feel the same way. The first time I did it, I did the same thing. But went over the time limit and she was mad but I told her it was making me sick and I didn't want to redo it. I feel like maybe if I could eat something or have water with it then I would be ok it's just so sugary for early in the morning on an empty stomach....good luck on your test!

I am 26 weeks and done glucose challenge test. I went for test after breakfast and 75 gm glucose pp sugar. I think i did wrong result is 125.

t as bad as you would think. Mine tasted exactly like an orange hi-c drink. I went on an empty stomach so my results wouldn't be off any and my results came back normal.

The worst is the nasty sugar drink. Eeewww especially when that's what you get on a empty stomach.

Your suppose to take that test on an empty stomach...just drink and and not think about it...drink plenty of water before and after.

I just drank the orange drink for the glucose test now I'm waiting for the hour to have blood drawn. Honestly, from what I've seen on here and how some girls got sick off of it etc I thought it was gonna be horrible. But the drink wasn't that bad! I chugged it though since my nurse poured it over ice. But it honestly wasn't as horrible as some people make it out to be. It just made my girls really hyper lol.

You aren't allowed to eat before you're glucose test...I had to take the three hour test and they told me I couldn't eat 9 hours prior to my appointment..

I wasn't even told in advance that I would be taking my glucose test. Eating before matters more with a typical glucose test, but the pregnancy glucose test it isn't as big of a deal. They can account for you having eaten be for the test so mommies to be can still eat.

I was checked for low and high blood sugar and both times were special tests, one was a 3 hour test and the other was a 5 hour test. Empty stomach and I drank this flat coke tasting stuff (I forget how often) then they would take blood.

For best results, you must be on an empty stomach. If the 1 hr glucose test comes bk abnormal then you will have to do the 3 hr test. Trust me, there's alot more sugar in that drink and alot more blood draws.

For those that have to fast before their test (mine is 2 hours beforehand) I would suggest keeping some crackers handy for after the test is over because last time all the sugar on an empty stomach made me a little woozy. I hope everyone's tests go well and we get good news from all!

When i was going for test i did not keep my stomach empty i had nuts at 12 coz i was out of house wiv family n i had to had something... I was 100% i m gna fail also coz of polycystic ovaries... But i passed... Lol i did not eat vegetables at all thru out pregnancy and starting week 21 i was not evn eating fruits... I just started eating bit healthy at 27wks lol...

Usually they only draw it ^ that many times if you fail the first one! I failed my first one because my dr didn't tell me I was goin to have a glucose test that day and I ate a McDonald's breakfast with an orange juice and sugar straws lol I failed horribly and had to come back for the three hour test! I have a great dr now and she told me in advance so getting to the normal experience!
