Dear doctor, How far the so called blood glucose monitoring meters are reliable for the diabetic patients. I know that the laboratory test where the plasma blood is drawn is very reliable when compared to glucometer tests, since the whole blood is drawn in this.

Hello, Your blood sugar results to OGTT seem to be totally normal. In normal people blood glucose will be in the 70 - 90s range regardless of what you eat or drink. Why was an OGTT performed? Did your doctor test insulin at the same time that they tested blood glucose?

2 hrs after breakfast result gives mid 80’s. If I test my blood sugar 6 hrs after any heavy meal the result would be 85 mg/dl. As you see the only reading that concerns me in the one right after waking up in the morning. Should I be concerned??

My blood sugar has always come back normal, but now that I have this am I going to have to test daily or is this something that depends on your results? Sorry if this is a dumb question, but this is all new to me. So I have some learning to do.

Please get a blood glucose fasting and after food. Thyroid is normal. Random glucose level is normal but on lower side. I think you should discuss these possibilities with your doctor and the cause for high cholesterol. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted.

My aunt is in the hospital, as I type this, fighting to stay alive. After speaking with the doctors about her condition, I've discovered that they have absolutely no idea why she's dying. After several ct scans, two cystoscopies, and endless blood test the reason of the gross hematuria is still unknown. Everyone is required to do it now. They just draw blood from your arm, like normal blood work. Mine came back negative, so my little boobear is ok:D and in a couple of weeks you'll get blood drawn again for glucose test...takes about an hr...lame. and then a few weeks after that, they do blood work again...but i forgot why this last time lol cow brains... haha or maybe this lastime was just me because im anemic and my platlets are very very low. 2 weeks ago I failed my 1hr glucose test. My doctor referred me to a specialist right away. He recommended doing a 2 hour test (which I had this morning) and will go from there. Anyone fail the 1 hour but pass the 2 hour?
