875426 tn?1325528416 And the second time, with a cut back in sugar intake was at 5.6 (reference range, less than 6) . At the same time that second HgA1c was taken, a random blood sugar came out low at 67. (Reference range they gave of 74-106 I think was actually for fasting, though not my parent was not fasting- it was four something in the afternoon.
Avatar n tn ok i have recently taken a urine test because i had some kind of uti they said there was a very high abnormal range of glucose in my urine but when i came back the next day they gave me a blood suger test which was normal does anyone know what may have caused the high glucose in my urine?
Avatar n tn It can take some time for you to feel OK as your body adjusts to new glucose levels as being normal again. So if you test and find that your glucose numbers are in the ideal range (70-126) before meals but still feel crummy, you may just have to wait for your body to adjust to being normal again.
Avatar n tn Hello! I'm not a medical professional, just the parent of a kid with diabetes. The normal blood glucose ranges for anyone, child or not are between 80 and 120. Some doctors will say 70-110, but it's all in the same range. Now, that's the target, but depending on what is eaten for example, a healthy person's blood glucose can rise temporarily up close to 200. As long as the values return to normal after a couple hours, all is well.
Avatar f tn Does a persons age play a factor for their "normal" fasting glucose range? During my last visit to my 82 yo mother, I happened to see her test results that showed her fasting glucose range topping out at 180 mg. I, on the other hand, being 60 yo & under immunosuppressant meds have a range from 50 - 150 mg, yet I constantly hear the normal range is 70 - 120. Both of our blood samples are tested at the same lab too. So what is the "normal" fasting glucose range?
Avatar f tn This often times happens when Metformin is combined with other diabetes medications, and is more common in elderly folks or folks with internal organ issues. Low glucose also can happen when fasting before surgery or a blood test/s and after lengthy exercise. You should notify your doctor of your low glucose experiences ASAP. Ask your doctor how to adjust your Metformin dose if needed. Do not change your medication dose or schedule without your doctor's advice.
Avatar f tn HI I am 30 weeks pregnant and i got my tsh and gct blodd test with 50 gm glucose done. my TSH-10.55( NORMAL RANGE IS .27-5.5) AND MY GCT-170MG/DL( RANGE IS 80-140) I AM REALLY WORRIED. I have a history of hypothyroid and have been taking 125 mg eltroxin since my first trimester. i am really worried please guide me and help me.
Avatar n tn I have read that after meals, glucose levels can go up to about 146 before a person is considered in the diabetic range. So your glucose readings thus far sound like they would be considered in the normal range of values except for the on at 61. As a diabetic, I know that I can actually start to feel bad when glucose is in the lower 70's even though 70 is considered the lowest level of normal.
Avatar f tn Hello, Children under five years old have a normal blood glucose range of 80 to 200 mg/dL. Five to eleven year old children have a range between 70 and 180 mg/dL. Children who are 12 years and older have a blood sugar range of 70 to 150 mg/dL. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps.
9884089 tn?1406756206 I failed my one hour test. The lady said I was 142 and the normal range is 136 or something like that. Is it bad or low enough that I shouldn't worry? I have the 3 hour test Wednesday I really hope I don't have gd.
Avatar n tn I took my daughter in for a physical last week and the dr. told me her glucose level in her urine was 3+ and blood stick was 288. He was VERY concerned and told me to take her in to her dr. the next morning. Her regular dr. told her fasting glucose was 0 and blood stick was 127. She told me the dr.'s machines were wrong the night before (it was an Urgent Care Center) and she's fine ... asked me to bring her back in a year.
Avatar f tn d try to push her FT3 and FT4 up too high in the range or to push them up too quickly. I guess you have to weigh the POSSIBILITY of higher levels causing a heart attack (which I would think is rare) against the FACT of feeling cr@ppy all the time due to hypothyroidism. I don't deal well with the theoretical, so I'll almost always go for the sure thing. Just keep in mind that baby steps in increases goes double for someone her age. If you like your endo, get your mom to see him.
Avatar m tn Hi. So, the exact number for everyone as to fasting glucose level and what they'd see after 3 hours after eating is unique. There is a 'range' of normal. Normal for fasting glucose level range is around 72 to 99 and up to 140 two hours after eating. https://www.medicinenet.com/normal_blood_sugar_levels_in_adults_with_diabetes/article.htm You sound within normal to me. Have you been concerned for any reason? Did you recently get this lab work done? Tell us more!
Avatar f tn My glucose level was 103 in February 2011 without fasting which was within the range of 85-120. May 30 2011 I ended up in the ER due to a gallbladder attack. My glucose level was 115 which was high since the range used was 65-99. A week later the surgeon repeated the tests to prepare me for surgery. The glucose level was 86 which was normal since the range used was 65-99. Three days ago my blood was drawn an hour or less after eating.
Avatar n tn My Glucose result was 60 (low - expected range 70-109 mg/dL) but my Fructosamine level came back as 1.83 (high - expected range 1.20-1.69 mmol/L). The results guide that came with the lab said that a high level is indicative of diabetes and that kinda freaks me out. What should I make of this test? I had just eaten breakfast not long before the blood test, so I'm not sure if that changes anything. Thanks.
Avatar f tn She had 3 significant falls in the last 3 months and 3 within a 8hr time frame(all blood sugar related) She had been in Ketoacidosis twice in the last year. Her Blood glucose levels were in the high 20s. She ended up passing away this morning. It was so interesting watching her HR go from 70s to142 within hours and then back down. You are 100%, it’s amazing what the body can actually do. She lasted 56 hours with NPO and being completely unresponsive.
