1399363 tn?1462342610 Histamine occurs naturally in certain foods and an enzyme called diamine oxidase, which is present in our body breaks down the histamine which we absorb from food. Deficiency of this enzyme can cause histamine intolerance. Among the naturally occurring fruits and vegetables some can be rich in histamines and some promote the release of histamine from mast cells. So, with consumption of food the reactions can vary.
Tbd This is accomplished by measuring the amount of glucose attached to the oxygen carrying protein hemoglobin carried by red blood cells which typically have a lifespan of 90 days. The practitioner will likely recommend lifestyle modifications such as diet and exercise.
Avatar m tn Less pressure means less glucose and oxygen to brain so the brain will get your head a ground level so that it can get the needed glucose and oxygen which is why people faint...........High blood pressure will most likely cause a headache, but then again anything is possible. I keep my pressure low with 400 mg magnesium, 5 grams time release vitamin c, cayenne pepper capsules, walking about 30 minutes daily, and 10 mg Lisinopril.
Avatar f tn I would recommend a OGTT (oral glucose tolerance test). My glucose was normal on fasting but abnormal two hours after drinking glucose. My fasting insulin was high and even higher two hours. (I would recommended insulin to be tested as well). In my case too much sugar in my diet lead to insulin resistance but hyperthyroidism caused impaired glucose tolerance.
748618 tn?1233130901 Red blood cells transport oxygen. The red blood cell picks up oxygen in the lungs and transports it to where it is needed. Carbon monoxide "mimics" oxygen and has a stronger affinity for the red blood cell. When a red blood cell picks up the carbon monoxide it CANNOT transport oxygen. Worse yet, the affinity is so strong, the cell may not be available to transport blood for several days. The combination of low blood pressure and inability to transport oxygen spells trouble.
Avatar n tn Feedback mechanisms, primarily located in the left and right carotid arteries on the neck constantly measure the concentration of oxygen (02) and carbon dioxide (C02). The body produces exactly the right heartrate for the right situation. As air is inhaled and passes through the lungs there is a transfer of gases within the alveoli. Increasing the heart rate increases the surface area per unit time exposed to air.
Avatar m tn I would like to buy some glucometer for continuous glucose monitoring (CGM). Do you have any personal experience with this type of monitoring? Can you recommend me any device? Thanks a lot.
541657 tn?1239208930 Both derive energy from glucose, but the normal cell requires oxygen to combine with the glucose, while cancer cells break down glucose without oxygen, yielding only 1/15 the energy per glucose molecule that a normal cell produces. This is why cancer cells have such a huge appetite for sugar, and also why people who consume excessive quantities of sugar tend to get cancer more often.
Avatar m tn It is due to your body converting the glucose and oxygen to lactate.
Avatar m tn He didnt eat much drank 50 ml water in last 14 hours and nothing after that. Later in the evening his oxygen was down to 70 SpO2. In 1.5 hours he was given oxygen with oxygen machine and the oxygen started to increase in a bit. In an hour heartrate started to fluctuate BP was almost NR. The patient suffered cardiac arrest few minutes later. The patient wasn't a major heart patient.
Avatar f tn U don't have to but it's for ur health and mostly for the health of ur baby I had it with my first daughter and she was born with pulmonary hypertension (baby high blood pressure) due to the gd and they found out while I still could plan to have a sick baby she was in the nicu for 11 days and stayed on oxygen for a month! Avatar m tn Brain requires continuous supply of glucose and oxygen and if any of these is not available, you will not be able to concentrate. If you are otherwise healthy, then you should find out what is distracting you from concentration and try to keep away from the source of distraction. As a general measure, deep breathing exercises, meditation, yoga and taking balanced food should improve your ability to concentrate.

Avatar m tn People already on MOA oxidase inhibitors, with narrow angle glaucoma, cardiac, liver and kidney disorders should not take Savella. If these symptoms are bothering you a lot seek medical help. Get your blood pressure checked. If your blood pressure is normal these effects may dissipate with time. Talk with your doctor before stopping Savella and do not stop suddenly; this can cause withdrawal symptoms .Discuss your concerns with your doctor. Take care!
1029233 tn?1263966032 My right lung was almost completely closed off and my oxygen level was low. They suspected H1N1, started me on Tamiflu, started me on different antibiotics and steroids through the IV. I was hooked up to oxygen and they started monitoring little Addison. Friday night the oncall doctor was making rounds and we discovered Addison was in distress and I was not getting any better. They did an ultrasound and she was breeched.
Avatar f tn When the baby is born they will monitor their glucose because some babies can have a hard time regulating their sugar after birth. They may also give baby oxygen to help with breathing that doesn't mean anything's wrong it just helps baby. My labor and delivery was normal. I'm sure yours will be too!
Avatar f tn I went to the emergencyroom back in march. They did blood tests and my glucose was 104 which they considered high(normal being up to 99) They never said anything to me about this and as far as I know, I have never had this before. I had to go to the emergency room again last month and again, they did blood work. My glucose level was only 88. I am just wondering if I should be looking into this. Could I be diabetic? They never said anything about the high level.
Avatar f tn They tried to do a colonoscopy and had to stop because she had low oxygen levels. What they did see was colitis on the right side. After the procedure she was so so ill. For the rest of the day she was vomiting had diarrhea! She was put on oxygen also! She has never had heart problems! They had to test her lungs and checked her heart. All ok. So worried about her. I think they gave her too much sedative. This made her more sick than when she went in.
