645800 tn?1466860955 At 6PM last night I had checked my glucose and it was 319 so I figured I better wait a while before I had dinner. At 11PM I a6te my dinner and almost immediately after eating I had either a mild heart attack or angina occurring. Since it felt just like the last time when I went to the ER and they claimed it was just MS Hug (which I never really believed as how would the MS HUG effect my left arm) I figured it was angina and so I climbed into a hot shower to get my arteries to open up.
645800 tn?1466860955 ) Once I got through there I checked back with the nurses were I got the infusion therapy to see if I was going to get an RX for my glucose. I was told NO, they were checking with my PCP to see if I needed anything and if I did I would get a call from them. DUH! I've already had one cardiac event due to glucose levels and have consistent reading from 366 to 151 since I started the infusions.
1353681 tn?1387083733 I don't know much about pump infusion sites- but I know that the main complication that people see with them would be infection.
9109315 tn?1408617920 Has anyone heard of passing the glucose test and becoming diabetic or getting gestational diabetes after taking the test? I passed with both pregnancies. It seems like after that test both times I have an issue with sugar until I delivered. I go Monday to the PCP, and find out what's going on. I was just wondering. My ob with my first didn't seem to worried. That's why I never bothered to get it checked. Now that I have a 2yr.
Avatar n tn My wife had been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes a few months earlier and because she had a glucometer I had tested my glucose to find it was normal. I am wondering how I can develop diabetes overnight without any previous symptoms. It seems strange that both of us get diabetets at about the same time but different types of diabetets. Any thoughts?
Avatar f tn I've been anemic since I was a young child. I took and am taking an OTC iron pill. Knowing that I was anemic before I was pregnant I knew I would need to take a suppliment. I'm 36 weeks now and I still have trouble keeping my iron up. I had a friend with her first child was severely anemic and had to have blood infusion. Her daughter is almost 2 now and she is fine. With her second they thought they'd have to do the same things after her 28 week testing.
Avatar f tn I have a Medtronic Minimed Paradigm Insulin Pump for sale. I got it last year and only used it for about 6 months. I just upgraded to another one. One never opened box of 10 quick set infusion - 23 inches 3. One belt clip 3. One insertion device 4.
Avatar n tn I've been offered the oppurtunity to participate in a Dexcom Trial, and I'm rather psyched by the idea (heck, its the closest I've come to using a continuous glucose moniter) but I was looking at pics of the apparatus,(on CWD) and gee, that stuff look lethal. (Especially the inserter)I couldn't find much info (online) about it- would anyone know if the receiver thingie is connected to the sensor pod?

1221035 tn?1301000508 I had my second infusion on Wednesday of last week. During my infusion, I was freezing/chilling. I asked for a blanket and a little later, when I was still so cold, they adjusted the A/C. Nothing was said to me that chills could be a reaction. As soon as I left, I felt nausea, dizziness, off balance, jello legs, I fell against the wall outside of the building on my way out.....and I had this internal tremor/vibration shaking feeling inside.
1251333 tn?1445218215 The first infusion went okay. I'm paranoid about chest heaviness/tightness because I had the anaphylaxis reaction to Tysabri. I had heaviness in the beginning of the infusion and again near the end of the infusion. They gave me an additional 25mg of Benadryl in my iV to help ease the chest heaviness at the end. I think the earlier meds they gave me wore off and that's why I started having the chest heaviness.
Avatar n tn I have reactive hypoglycemia and my pulse rate is very fast an 1 1/2 hours after I eat any kind of carbs. I would normally be in the low 70's and it would increase to the mid 90's without any exercise. I would also develop headaches when my blood sugar would drop. I would usually have them in the morning when I first wake up. If you have some kind of blood sugar imbalance you can develop headaches any time of the day.
Avatar m tn My question was regarding heart rate. I am a 39 year old man. I am 5' 7". I weigh 190 lbs. I have been back in the gym for almost two months now I do anywhere from twenty minutes to an hour of cardio every time I go in including weight training. I have been going 4- 5 days a week. Prior to going back to the gym I was living a very unhealthy lifestyle. Eating very unhealthy foods and drinking to much alcohol. My question is when I get home form working out.
Avatar f tn I read somewhere that you can contact the pharmaceutical company for assistance. It is worth a try!!
Avatar m tn – what from, if I had taken him to an emergency vet hospital when I saw that discolouration could he have been saved, did I push him into hypernatraemia with his last dose, did the excess glucose attribute to his death, what about the ringer lactate, did the antibiotics I unknowingly gave him as an injection instead of an infusion push his liver to fail & cause internal bleeding, is it possible to go from mildly raised enzymes to utter liver failure with lack of clotting factors the space o
1394601 tn?1328032308 I will be having my fourth Tysabri infusion on Monday. I have been keeping a journal ...It is called "Hoping for a Miracle"...lol...At any rate, I had my first infusion a bit too late and landed in the hospital for thirty days. The day I was released I had my second. Now infusion two and three seemed to give me three weeks of great hope.

Avatar m tn Hello Dr., in 1993, at 37 yrs age, I was diagnosed with Diabetes Type II, since then I have been taking the insulin injection (huminsulin), but this week my fasting C-peptide came out 0.1 and my Dr said that it is almost nill, and recommended I should go on insulin pump. I don't know how to take this information? Is it that now my body has started showing signs of deterioration, and I need to watch out for further/additional complications?
Avatar f tn There is no further bleeding, but I have noticed a slight burning/discomfort in my left breast. I am curious whether or not this is a posibility? Infusion is at the rate of 0.50cc/hr. Thank you for your expertise.
1337734 tn?1336234591 Could you call Gilyna and ask them for a list of sites in your area? I know when I had scheduling infusion center difficulties with Tysabri, I just called Biogen and my caseworker "fixed" it.
Avatar n tn Mike, My hats off to you for working out so diligently. I wish I had the discipline. I have a pump also and I see no reason why you can't continue to work your abs. The only thing I would do is to test your blood sugar before you workout and if it is anywhere near normal or low, I would just disconnect the pump or lower your basal rate for that hour. Your doctor can give you better guidelines on how to adjsut your insulin when you exercise.
Tbd The goal for a type 2 diabetic is to maintain their blood glucose within a safe range. Complex carbohydrates are broken down at a slower rate than simple carbohydrates meaning that the glucose is released into the bloodstream at a slower rate allowing more time for the uptake of glucose.
Avatar f tn I have been prescribed iv solu medrol infusion for 3 days, but after my first dose today I noticed severe leg pain (aching), weakness and some swelling. Is this normal? I still have 2 more doses of the treatment. Has anyone else ever gotten the leg pain AFTER starting the medicine? Thank you.
Avatar n tn 1. Non-fasting serum glucose will be elevated and 140 is definitely normal within a couple hours of a meal. To really get a good handle on how well you tolerate glucose, you should have a fasting test performed although I don't think this is necessary in your case. 2. Serum protein is the amount of protein in the blood. It really has no application in your case and I wouldn't put any weight on it.
