Common Questions and Answers about Glucose in urine negative

glucose

Avatar n tn today on testing my urine about 30 mins after 250ml of coke and 3 sweet biscuits there was NO glucose in the urine. Can anyone explain why the first test was positive?
Avatar f tn From my last 3 appts I've been having sugar in urine, I was sent to do the 3 hr glucose test and came back negative, but why would I keep getting sugar in urine? Anyone else the same?
Avatar f tn I just left my doctors appointment and they said I have a lot of suger in my urine. I passed my three hour glucose test. Could I possibly be getting gestational diabetes now?
Avatar m tn WBC can be caused by many different things including infection. You can have infection that does not show on the standard test of nitrites but with the number of epithelial cells /hpf 5- it is most likely not a clean catch, mid stream urine. I would suggest you redo the urine test and be very careful, it is hard to get a good "sterile" or as sterile as possible urine sample. More importantly then the UA is the symptoms your experiencing that go along with a the WBC.

Avatar f tn The doctor said I had glucose in my urine. She is going to retest me again in 2 weeks. I went in 2 weeks ago for the sugar test and passed with a 131 cutoff is 135. So my question is has this happened to anyone else? Does this mean I am going to develop gestational diabetes?? I am not over weight but I do have a bad ice cream habit...been known to eat a pint of ben and jerrys a nite!!! Any input would be appericated..thanxs!!

Avatar n tn My Dr also told me he has no concerns of me being diabetic since no glucose showed up in my urine samples. Both the dip stick as well as the lab samples. Like I said, i was at the Dr around 1:30pm, and I hadnt eatin since dinner the night before. He mentioned that could have caused the ketones on the dipstick test. Could this, as well as the stress I was under, cause the trace amounts of protein?
Avatar n tn As other causes such as stress ,exercises and a recent meal intake may cause increase levels of glucose in the urine. This may be true in isolated cases. An initial work up may be necessary just to check blood glucose levels. Your BUN and Creatinine levels may also be checked to get a baseline evaluation of renal function.
Avatar n tn There are times when I check my urine for ketones when my blood glucose is particularly high. For example, this morning before I had eaten a bite, my blood sugar was 406. I checked my urine for ketones at that time and it showed moderate to high amounts of ketones in my urine. This afternoon after I ate, my blood sugar was 521 and I checked for ketones again. On the second check, it was negative to a trace. Does anyone have any ideas what could cause this to happen?
Avatar f tn Doctor did a urine test today and I had sugar in my urine, now he is worried about pregnancy diabetes, has anyone else had sugar in their urine without having diabetes be the cause?
Avatar n tn If there are 2 positive signs (++), this indicates the level of ketones present in her urine, which is normally negative. It is important that this is treated also to prevent ketoacidosis. Ketones are substances that are made when the body breaks down fat for energy. Normally, the body gets the energy it needs from carbohydrate from the diet. If the diet does not contain enough carbohydrate to supply the body with glucose or sugar, stored fat is broken down instead and ketones are made.
1305271 tn?1320984748 Protein in the urine in not a sign of pregnancy but can result in pregnant women who expereince a complication called preeclampsia (does not occur until 2nd-3rd trimester). Protein in your urine could indicate a problem with your kidneys. I do hope you have a follow-up with your doctor.
Avatar f tn 0 mg/dL), Glucose-Presnt(0.25 g/dL),Leucocyte Esterase -Postiive , Nitrite-Positive, RBC-Negative, and Pus Cell-2-3 WBC/HPF and rest of thing are normal as required please suggent me now what to do .
978175 tn?1304439383 You're welcome, Crystalann. Sugar comes in different varieties other than refined table sugar, or in your case, coffeemate. Google simple carbs vs complex carbs. Simple carbs are digested easily thus their sugars enter the bloodstream more quickly resulting in your glucose levels being jacked up. White foods are considered simple carbs; white flour, white bread, crackers, potatoes, pasta, and milk. Also, read the ingredient label carefully on packaged foods.
Avatar n tn My real question though is what would cause glucose in my urine? It never showed up on the countless urine tests I had in the past. I've read that it could show 1+ after a high carb meal, but as I said I hadn't eaten in at least 14 hours, and my diet is fairly balanced and healthy, not extremely high in carbs or sugar. None of my doctors have ever suspected diabetes, but about a year and a half ago a random glucose test was normal (85).
Avatar m tn i repeated the test at a different lab my urine PH came 8 btw and esterase/nitrite came negative, my problem is that sometimes i get urge to go without really having that big amount to empty, i know i can hold more for longer!
Avatar m tn She said there were traces of glucose and white blood cells in my urine. She has asked me to go in for a blood test and I think a Prostate psa test. I'm worried it could be something serious?
Avatar f tn Today I went to the doctor because I have been itching like crazy, but my doctor is straight up with me and he told me that I have protein and glucose in my urine. I have had two uti’s in the past 2 months, I have been itching like crazy, I have been very tired, and my blood pressure is higher for a person of my size. I am 16, 5’7 and I weigh 130 lbs.
Avatar f tn So went to the doctors and had my pee checked like usual visits. This time the results came back that I have 250 glucose in urine... I called the doctor as I was concerned and she said she's not very concerned about it. Can't stop thinking about it and wondering if anyone knows if it's really no big deal or if it can be serious? Havent been able to get this off my mind!
