glucose

Tbd Postprandial hyperglycemia is also one of the earliest abnormalities of glucose homeostasis associated with type 2 diabetes" https://care.diabetesjournals.org/content/24/4/775 So test 1-2 hours after a meal. As a pure guess, I'd think that once a month is sufficient - unless you change your diet or activity or other risk factors.
Avatar m tn Literally days later I developed a severe testicular pain and sexual dysfunction that is still present a year later. Doctors have not been able to find the cause of the pain and attribute it to psychological problems. I have also developed a severe sensitivity to glucose. I cannot eat any sugar or carbs or else I get extremely sick. I have read on many medical sites that this drug should not be applied to the groin.
Avatar f tn But then, I manage and control my glucose levels carefully and live a healthy lifestyle. Quoting from an article on mismanaged diabetes, "Researchers believe that up to 50% of people with diabetes will experience some sort of sexual dysfunction at some point. But even if diabetes doesn’t directly cause sexual dysfunction, other diabetes-related health issues can influence your sexual desire and may be a threat to intimacy within a relationship.
Avatar m tn 0, specific gravity 1.025,250 of glucose, which makes no sense with normal serum glucose and negative for ketones, blood, nitrite and leukocyte esterase. Urine hCG was negative as well" I just dont understand. Its looking like i have more than one thing working against me.
Avatar m tn I am still trying to get testing at a center and like Stephanie think that is a good idea for anyone with autonomic dysfunction. Most of us do not live in a community that has experts in autonomic dysfunction so we need to be able to at least access them for consults long distance. Some people have cardiologists or nephrologists or neurologists that help with management in their communities.
Avatar f tn Commonest cause of nausea is acidity. Liver and kidney dysfunction is another cause. Hence kidney and liver function tests should be done. Other causes are diabetes and hypothyroidism. Electrolyte imbalance too can cause nausea. See if all these have been looked into. Hope this helps. Take care!
Avatar f tn The liver plays an important role in coordinating the regulation of iron homeostasis and is involved in regulating the level of iron absorption in the duodenum and iron recycling by the macrophages. Iron homeostasis is disturbed by several metabolic and genetic disorders, including various forms of hereditary hemochromatosis. This review will focus on liver disease and how it is affected by disordered iron homeostasis, as observed in hereditary hemochromatosis and due to HFE mutations.
Avatar f tn As long as it's not homeostasis you'll be fine. Try an oatmeal bath maybe.
1755089 tn?1376053555 I have autonomic dysfunction which causes this to happen to me.
6695047 tn?1383854549 He has reached what my vet is saying is a homeostasis phase which, as has been the case with Riggs, is very odd for an AKD cat. They either get noticeably worse or better, and he is neither. Has anyone else ever had a similar experience, either as a vet or owner, and can tell me what the outcome was? And any advice that helped you through it? He has only just been started on syringe feeding the last day and a half. Did syringe feeding make a difference?
Avatar m tn But my question here is about Masturbation in relationship with glucose levels. What effect does it have on diabetics and any info. concerning this relationship is highly appreciated. Thank you in advance, Tom.
Avatar f tn Is blood glucose reading of 139 ok two hours after eating? I've just begun self-testing and I've had three readings of 88 (afternoon, no food), 89 (morning before eating or drinking), and 139 (two hours after eating). My mother's family has Type I diabetes (8 out of 11 total) and my father developed Type II before he died. I'm concerned because I have very high "highs" and very low "lows" complete with blurred vision, shaking, anxiety, and constant urination.
Avatar f tn Hi my Glucose Fasting is 5.5 My TSH is 5.
Avatar f tn I'm 30 years old. About 3months ago met this new girl, then we had sex( strong erection) then the next day had strong erection and suddenly it became weak and never got hard again, though had stressful day at work that day. The. I got worried when I tried relaxing I get hard and make out but it is now on and off and really getting me worried. I've checked my BP and glucose level all within normal.
Avatar n tn Been taking lots of blood work from different docs and my glucose serum is really high normal. Also had a 2hr. glucose tolerance test. High normal. Docs say I have Rheumatoid arthritis but I may have Lupus. Seeing a new doc this week. I have fibromyalgia. Along with the heat sensation, I get prickling pins/needles all over my body. The pain is so bad from it. I don't know what's going on with me.
Avatar n tn It's called cholestasis (not homeostasis), but the above poster is right about the rest of it. Definitely ask your Dr on Monday though just to be sure!

Avatar n tn However, in the majority of the patients it’s something known as pre-renal dysfunction which means dysfunction of the kidney due to defects before the kidneys and the commonest cause for the same is dehydration. Dehydration leads to poor filtration in the kidneys and thus leading to the accumulation of waste products within the body. It also affects the functioning of the kidneys.
Avatar n tn My primary symptoms are daily fatigue/malaise, intermittent headaches (temple and bridge-of-nose), slight nasal congestion, eustachian tube dysfunction, and lightheadedness. I often feel feverish, but whenever I take my temperature it is normal (98.4). I also occasionally get an itchy throat, burning eyes, dry mouth, increased thirst, and frequent urination. On the other hand, I never sneeze, never have a runny nose, and have very little post nasal drip.
Avatar f tn Hello! It is frustrating isn't it when you can't find a doctor willing to find the root cause of your symptoms. Are your father's symptoms the same as yours? There are a few clinics in the U.S. that dig deeper into the diagnosis of autonomic dysfunction. Have you seen a cardiologist or a neurologist yet for your symptoms? You may have something like Neurocardiogenic Syncope.
704043 tn?1298056844 If you are sure your glucose levels are solid, I guess it could be related to a type of autonomic nervous system (ANS) dysfunction. It would require testing to figure it out. I don;t experience this, but I;m mentioning it because MS and neurologic diseases can effect the ANS. The jittery feeling could be related to simulation of the sympathetic portion of the autonomic nervous system.
Avatar f tn Further to my question regarding pins and needles, although my glucose is a bit high, diabetes has been ruled out with a glucose fasting test. My father has degenerative disc disease. Could pins and needles and numbness in differing parts of the body be associated with this disease. I have no back pain at all and have had little trouble with my back ever?
