Common Questions and Answers about Glucose and photosynthesis

glucose

91034 tn?1401416303 I almost had to stop due to a skin reaction I randomly had for 2 days but it was a photosynthesis reaction from Simeprevir and the Sun exposure. Now Doc is making me wear 100 proof sunblock and 50 proof chapstick. It was a close call though! I was so upset for those 2 days because doc said we might have to stop treatment but it went away. Yay! Fingers crossed it doesn't happen again or any other weird stuff.
Avatar f tn t produce enough of the Thyroid hormone. And I also know that when I had the Glucose test my thyroid levels may have been off because my doctor just adjusted my medication. So should I just no worry as much as retest Glucose after I get Thyroid under control or should I start cutting back on certain foods. I probably should cut back anyway since I am overweight but with Thyroid levels being off I probably won't loose weight anyway.
Avatar n tn s main ingredient is prednisolone, which is a corticosteroid [not be confused with Anabolic steroids], and it may/does raise glucose levels? Did you discuss the length of usage with the eye surgeon and also inform him/her you are diabetic? Depending on length your elevated morning glucose may be short lived. You might consider discussing with your Pharmacist an alternative eye drop that doesn't affect your glucose levels, then call your physician.
Avatar n tn It may seem counterintuitive but hunger and glucose levels are two separate processes. Hunger is what your body craves vs excess sugar circulating in your blood stream. Make sense?
Avatar m tn Is there any relationship between blood glucose and sweat? And are there articles that will support the relationship of this two? Thank you very much.
Avatar n tn Would jogging and running (at 80-84% mhr) 60 minutes a day six times a week increase the sugar level(in person who has normal fasting <105 glucose) and is there a risk of 46 year old male developing diabetes in the future as result of exercising very hard at the above FIT level?Should person exercise at lower intensity(even though he can exercise at higher intensity) for prevention of developing diabetes in the future?
Avatar f tn In short, new red blood cells live on average 3 months. Excess glucose binds to these new red cells until they die off. The A1c captures this and your results are presented in % [percentile]. Some labs say <7% while others have <6% [< = less than] being normal. Here's a link explaining the test http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/003640.
Avatar m tn Researchers isolated a number of active phytosterol compounds from the gel that were found to reduce blood glucose and glycosylated hemoglobin levels. But what study? The study isn''t named. And what researchers? Uncle Bob and Auntie May next door? I dislike reports that do not provide specific names or proof of documentation to back up the test findings. I take these reports as Internet rumors. Who knows if the research was performed on lab rats or humans.
592256 tn?1353249474 Hi, every time I see the doctor or nurse they keep on at me to lose weight, I do all the right things but I cannot lose any, so I decided to stop my insulin 2 months ago and I have lost 20 pounds, thats great and I feel much better but now my blood glucose ranges from 13mmol(234mg/dl) in the morning to 25.5mmol(459mg/dl) at bed time. I dont feel ill or anything in fact I feel better, just thirsty. I dont know which is more serious to be over weight or have these high glucose levels.
Avatar f tn My last blood work before this was in May and all was fine with glucose. They did a stress test and an ECHO and all were ok except for some mild mitral valve regurgitation and calcification. EKG in sinus rhythm was fine. Is there a reason the glucose was up due to the AFib? I have a lot of anxiety and to me this is worrisome. The nurse did not seem concerned at all and the doctors did not mention it. I am now on Coumadin 4 mg. since this is my 2nd incident. This glucose has me worried.
Avatar n tn My 16 year old daughter has been experiencing dizzy spells, zoning out, and forgetting things from just yesterday. She has already had a MRI, EEG and blood work. All fine. Dr wants her to fast, draw blood, give her a special sugar drink, than recheck her blood. Seems Dr is at a loss, do you think they are looking for diabetes? she doesn't show any of those symptoms of diabetes. Any ideas?
Avatar m tn Could it be that doing a low carb diet, made your body get the energy from the proteins and fats, and since the body didn´t get the energy from glucose, the little carbs you ate, kept on circulating in your blood? and released through urine?
Avatar f tn I went back to the doctor who found my numbers had not improved but worsened after a year and told me I had impaired glucose tolerance and that I had to keep on taking 500mg metformin. She didn´t understand why my numbers didn´t improve, since I had lost 40lbs and didn´t have family history of diabetes. Another important thing to mention, is that I have been weaning from the cymbalta (antidepressant).
Avatar f tn I took my glucose test at around noon, I hadn't had anything to eat since 9 PM last night, but for some reason even without food and without drinks my glucose level was 136. I can't imagine that that's actually normal, is it?
Avatar f tn And did you have any after affects of the sweet syrup nasty crap?? Like I feel nauseated, and burping a LOT and occasionally I get really really hot and feel like I'll pass out... Has anyone experienced this at all?? I also just found out that I have chlamydia o.o my ob has prescribed me a one time dose of medication that I'll be picking up and taking tomorrow.
Avatar m tn Illness not only affects your eating, sleeping, and exercise, it may cause the liver to make and release glucose into the bloodstream. This increase in glucose provides extra energy to combat the stress of an illness, but in people with diabetes it can cause blood glucose to rise too high, whether or not you are eating.
Avatar n tn it just never occurred to me to set my schedule to test once before breakfast, 2-3 hours after breakfast, once before lunch, 2-3 hours AFTER lunch, before dinner, and 2-3 hours after dinner, etc. Glucose levels can then be seen dropping or rising and she can adjust her insulin or drink some juice accordingly, BEFORE something severe happens to her. She might want to start always carrying 2 small 6-oz.
Avatar n tn I compensate by testing a couple of hours after my first sip of coffee and compensating with a tiny bit of insulin if glucose levels are rising. I believe that in my case, my body starts producing adrenalin when the caffeine kicks in. And adrenalin can make sugars rise. So I suspect that this effect is different for different people. Just check often while drinking coffee so you can catch it and compensate if glucose levels rise.
Avatar n tn I've had my blood sugar checked several times over the past 12 months in relation to my frequent lightheadedness / imbalance. My fasting bloodsugar seems to be around 120-130 usually. I had a glucose tolerance test and it came back "normal". A new doctor just ran an a1c test on me and it came back as 6. I am over weight (not losing weight as I often read about when looking up diabetes). Does above normal blood sugar always mean diabetes?
Avatar f tn An A1c of 6.6% indicates your estimated average glucose is 146.72 mg/dl, not "but normal the rest of the day at 100 or less." We can't speak for your doctor as to why he/she made the decision on Metformin. Call your doctor for that answer.
Avatar m tn I have been home monitoring since Oct 3 daily alternating fpg and ppg. My average reading is 7.6 mmol. Using the formula 1.583 x a1c -2.52 = eAG and solving for a1c, my indicated a1c is <6.5%. Can I assume my last lab test will yield close to 6.5%? I will get the result this Friday. Just need a little confidence booster.
