1448936 tn?1363206346 The test for lactose intolerance is a hydrogen breath test but there is no reason to do that, all you need to do is to eliminate 100% of all lactose from your diet for 2 weeks and if that helps then you have lactose intolerance and if that doesn't help then you don't have lactose intolerace. It is normal to test for parasites.

Avatar m tn Yomike, I strongly suggest you to consider "low-FODMAP diet" (search online). Basically it means avoiding sugars like glucose, sucrose, fructose and lactose ..one or more of these often cause bloating and diarrhea in people diagnosed with IBS.
1418633 tn?1314546745 My platelets have dropped from 2.45 lac/cumm to 1.63 lac/cumm after one week of pegasys and riba. I had my 2nd shot of Pegasys today.I do understand the loss of Platelets is significant but is it something to worry about. Is there anyway i can maintain my Platelets count ?
Avatar m tn hi, i strongly recommend you have these tests- fructose malabsorption, lactose, glucose and gluten intolerances, cheers.
Avatar m tn t make the difference when talking about sugars because even if it is fructose, lactose or sucrose or glucose and even if it's from a candy or a vegetable, in the end they will all end up being glucose in your body. What does make a point tho is that complex carbohydrates take longer time to break down in your body to that means the blood glucose remains more stable. Complex carbohydrates are startchy food like patatoes, rice and pastas.

Avatar m tn I have just recently been diagnosed as a borderline diabetic (12 hour fast 114 and A1C 6.1%). For the last 4 years I have been lifting weights and trying to following a low carb diet plan. My day starts out at 0400 when I hit the gym for my workout. At this time in the morning my BGL is usually 103-113. After my workout my BGL is about 15-20 points higher. Is this normal??
Avatar m tn When intestinal bacteria eat simple sugars glucose - from sweets, fructose - from fruits, lactose - from milk, and maltose from beer, they break them down and produce gas.So, if after this trial, your symptoms will improve, it's possible, you have intestinal bacteria overgrowth. This is tested with a breath test and treated with antibiotics.
Avatar n tn I have a glucose hydrogen breath test scheduled for June 15th. Were they able to test you for glucose, lactose and bacteria all during the same day?
501740 tn?1266691293 my spinal tap was negative for anything and my MRI had lesions that were atypical for a demyelating disease so they do not think they are related. I have had my fasting blood glucose level checked and it has been ok but would there be a different test for diabetes? Thank you for all of your input!
Avatar n tn As to moisturizer, two I recommend are lac-hidren and an Aveeno product for eczema that is a thick balm. You can get either at a cvs drug store or whatever drug store is near you.
Avatar n tn If none of these are true for you, then you must insist on a blood glucose examination and maybe a glucose challenge test. It could be either diabetes or high insulin that is causing problems. Another possibility is thyroid problems. Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
Avatar f tn I am on Syntroid, 0.100mg. I have also developed an intolerance to lactose and gluten these past two years. I have eliminated all lactose and gluten from my diet. Lactose intake makes my lymph nodes swell. My question is: Syntroid does contain lactose, and it seems that just that little amount prevents me from stopping the swelling, and feeling better. Could I switch to another thyroid medication? Should I continue on Syntroid, and take some digestive enzymes for lactose at the same time?
20851055 tn?1536806732 In a LAC for ECU subluxation, and have already asked my dr a ton of email questions, and dont want to annoy him any more. I know I have to just rest everything from the elbow down to the wrist and let it waste away to nothing, but would flexing the bicep inside the cast so it gets at least a little exercise affect anything?
