It says metformin (Glucophage EQ) XR on the bottle, but the other said the same thing. The pills are different shape & size, but they put a sticky on the bt. that says it is the same, but I'm calling tomorrow to ask if it is the same brand. Yuck...no-no....DOUBLE YUCK! ;o) A friend of mines takes them for diabetes & hers are round (#397).

Avatar n tn Since I started seeing my family doctor (an MD) it has been determined that I may have polycystic ovarian syndrome based on my symptoms even though the pelvic ultrasound showed no cystic ovaries and even though my menstrual cycle is regular. They had started treatment with glucophage XR and obviously I could not be treated with BCP because of my history of pulmonary emboli.

Avatar n tn Hello, How are you ? I hope this finds you well. My name is Shelley and I am a mom and have a 19 year old son. I'll first tell you what he was on for the last year. Adderall XR 25 milligrams , dextrostat 10 milligrams for afternoon, and effexor (75)for mild depression, mind you. ( I think the adderall was causing the havoc made him tired all the time and rollercoaster mood swings. ) So, got recruited to college for golf but couldn't function for 18 holes.
Avatar n tn A year ago, my doctor gave me Lescol/Fluvastatin to take because I am a high risk for heart disease due to genetics and diabetes. At that time my Lipids were within normal range. After a month, ALT/AST results were very elevated. and medication was discontinued. Since then, I've gone through ultrasound, HiDa Scan and finally diagnose of fatty liver. The Gastroenterologist recommended Liver Biopsy to check for liver damage.

Avatar m tn I pray this is the one to get me back on track. She started me out on 75mg for 3 days and then 150 mgs for the next 3 days and then leveling out at 3 75mg pills at once. I know some of you can tell me some things about EFFEXOR XR. Thanks in advance for the information.

The manufacturer name will be on your Rx bottle. You need to start taking them again ASAP to avoid feeling even worse. Effexor of all meds is a tough one to come off as it is. Please call your doctor. Update us when you can!

Avatar n tn give you some samples until you can get signed up for prescription asssitance? When I lost my job, I actually got mine directly form the manufacturer, and now get it through a mail order pharmacy for $30 for 3/mo supply. Do you have a free clinic that could help you out? There are a lot of prescription assistance programs, like PPA, NeedyMeds, etc, but until you can get signed up for one, I sure hope that your Dr. can help you with samples. I know my Dr.
Avatar m tn t go back that far or its in his archives! Anyway, recently, he decided to add Wellbutrin to my regimen of Effexor XR to see of that would help with my depression. I take Klonopin for anxiety (used to take Xanax XR for years, but felt it became ineffective). I'd like to keep decreasing Effexor XR -- I'm down from 375 mg to 300 mg per day. The maximum dosage the manufacturer recommends is 225 mg, and with the addition of the Wellbutrin, I don't want all of that Effexor XR.
Avatar f tn My daughter is taking 225 mg of effexor xr for the last 8 months. Before that, she was taking 150 mg for 5 years. She is 24. She tried to quit a year ago, when taking 150 mg, but the side effects terrified her and she is now in denial and would rather succumb to taking this horrid drug for the rest of her life. She has given up. This is a tragedy, and one that the drug company needs to address. A class action law suit is fine, but that does not solve the problem of getting off of this drug.
1500096 tn?1292945593 I used birth control pills for a year of which i had a regular cycle. I stopped using the pills after i got married and my cycle became very irregular. 173732 tn?1226758694 According to the manufacturer of Effexor, there are no available reports on the use of Effexor during human pregnancy. Effexor should be used in pregnancy only where the benefit to the mother clearly outweighs any potential risk to the fetus. Alternative agents should/may be considered. If the doctor and patient decide to continue venlafaxine during pregnancy, discontinuation symptoms should be considered in the newborn at birth.
1546050 tn?1293688410 She then decided that I must be insulin resistant and put me on Glucophage 1 in the evening without even doing any tests or telling me anything about an eating plan etc. I am now following a low GI eating plan I got on the internet. My question is - should I be on Glucophage if I was not properly tested for insulin resistance and if my sugar test came out within normal range?
Avatar n tn She said that I still not a type 2 diabetic but just to be safe she told me to start taking glucophage once a day for 1 week and increase to 2x a day after that. Then I will repeat my tests in January. Should I start taking the meds as she prescribe. I am not overweight and no one in my family is diabetic.
