I was diagnosed with PCOS in 2005. I really want to lose weight and I know I gotta take the Metformin but it makes me very nauseous. The diarrhea I can handle but not the nausea, so I haven't been taking it. I see an endocrinologist Wednesday. I have been on my period for almost a year and I hope it regulates me. I am ready!!! I have noticed I really have no appitite, it's hard to eat with it because when I eat I get icky feeling:) it's okay maybe it will cause me to lose weight too.

I find that now that I have been weaned off the Prednisone, approximately fifteen days now, my blood sugar readings have not returned to the normal range as prior to taking the Prednisone. I am within an acceptable weight range and exercise 45 minutes every day. I am distressed over this turn of events and am perplexed as to whether I will ever regain the good readings I previously had or now have to do something more drastic.

It made me really sick to my stomach and gave me bad diarrhea even in the middle of the night! I tried to start it on the weekend in case of these side effects and I had to stop taking it on Sunday cause i knew i wouldnt be able to work like that. I used both, and found that side effects are similar; tiredness, weight gain, and a slow pulse. Side effects are more pronounced as the dosage is increased. I had dosages from 25mg to 200mg. daily. Other reported effects are loss of libido, tightness in the chest, itching, irregular breathing, and irregular heartbeat. HI, There is no specific vitamin as a treatment for PCOS. However if you are trying for a natural pregnancy then folic acid can be taken. Weight loss gives dramatic results in women who are obese. Consult a gynaecologist for an evaluation. Hope this helps.

Now with that being said I myself am considering bariatric aka weight loss surgery but as a tool to help me loose the weight that I have been unable to loose on my own but this is not even a cure not by a long shot However, it is something to consider. Mine did, and now I can only feel it a tiny bit if my feet are in the same position for a long time (i.e. computer chair rail). It definitely has a side effect of weight loss. In fact, some doctors prescribe it specifically for that reason. (In people who are overweight, and don't suffer from migraine.) I lost weight almost immediately.

I took birth-control pills so that I can have a normal period but then my Doctor prescribed me to take Glucophage 500 mg twice a day after food but it has side effects like dizziness, nausea, low blood pressure and diarrehea... I went to pharmacies and asked about the medicine ( Glocophage), they say its good but it is not making me feel good. The last pharmacy I went to suggested that I should take Glucophage XR. I still didnt take it, Im still using Glucophage.

I also have pco and have been metformin 1000 mg a day but it made me feel very sick all the time so I am now on the metformin extened release pills and they are 10 times better and do not have all the side effects of the regular metformin so you may want to talk to your doctor and see if he can give you those.

what is amaigrissante? how dose it help weight loss and what are its side effects?

I myself am taking wellbutrin sr and have been experiencing the same side effects along with feeling like i am in a elevator not sure if these are normal side effects or not... but the plus side of it i have been losing weight with it..

PCOS can also make it tougher to loss weight once you have gained it plus you tend to gain weight faster or something like that. I never took glucophage to help treat PCOS. The medical community is basically divided on if it works or not. My friend took it and within 3 months she was pg and she lost weight in the process without really trying but another friend took it and the side effects were just aweful, so she stopped. I went through 3 rounds of IUI.
