I have dark skin patches on my forehead and around my lips and they are really dark. And when I say dark I mean they are really dark. You see, I am a South Indian with dark skin but the dark patches are very noticeable. Im not pregnant so I do not think it might be Melasma as they said if you have that you must be having hormonal changes to have that.

Im a 17 year old asian male with dark lips. I was born with lighter lips but i have neglected them when i was younger. I have always peeled and ate the skin of my lips (I know disgusting lol) when i was younger and they were chapped. Everytime i went to the dentists, when i'd have my teeth pulled and they used anesthesia i'd take very hot water and test on my lips to see how i can not feel the pain. I never really cared about my lips from about 5 years old to 13.
I had a cold sore breakout on the top left of my lip two years ago. a couple of weeks (?) after the core sore healed, i noticed the area turned dark, almost like black. Although I had cold sores many time before this is the first time that it left me with a black scar. Since then I have had cold sores every few months in the same area. the dark scar has never improved. I tried using Vitamin E cream as suggested by a healthfood store however it didn't seem to help.
