anxiety

Avatar f tn The two are quite different, and if the stress of your job is more than you can handle and it's not a generalized irrational anxiety problem the only solution is to develop ways to lessen the stress or realize this might not be the right job for you. It's tough, I know, drugs are easier to turn to, but they're not magic pills and they don't alter the reality of your life.
Avatar m tn No I don't have depression just generalized anxiety disorder but since I stopped Wellbutrin I started getting these spasms on my throat and neck but Wellbutrin made my anxiety worse
780665 tn?1239030149 Lastly, some people say they get 'rebound anxiety'-- anxiety which starts as soon as the medication leaves the system. Personally, I've never had that problem. Then again, each person is different. Hope this helps.
Avatar m tn Therapists and doctors have ways to treat social anxiety separate from generalized anxiety and I agree with anxiousnomore that I'd look into therapy. Some people need medication too to feel their best self if it is too debilitating. That's the bottom line=== you want to feel better. Do what is necessary for that goal. You won't instantly turn into a social butterfly but you'll be able to maintain and endure without all of the anxiety symptoms crashing in on you.
Avatar n tn You should go back to student health service and ask them about treatment resources for generalized anxiety, which may be what is happening. It is very treatable.

Avatar n tn Does anyone else have head issues and have been told that it is anxiety? I am about tired of this constant head pressure/pain that I keep getting. Its very weird. I will wake up in the morning and feel ok, then about 1/2 hour later this pressure/pain will start on the left side of my head near the top. It will seem to intensify and then lessen itself throughout the day with no real rhyme or reason to when it is worse or better.
Avatar n tn I've been suffering from generalized anxiety since 1998 and now a clonazepam dependent. Feel better now a days but I am still desperately searching for my real self, I mean, the way I was when anxiety was not yet controlling my mind and body. Don't you feel it too? That the REAL YOU is not there anymore, no where to be found? Don't you always say to yourself, "This is NOT me!" What do you think, guys, will we ever get back to our own world before?
299912 tn?1341626700 And I must admit that I am a slight bit embarrassed about this, but not ashamed. I have had generalized anxiety disorder with panic attacks since I was 22 years old. While it was extremely horrible in the beginning, the symptoms have gotten better, but have not gone away. I rarely have panic episodes anymore, unless I am in a specific situation (more on that in a minute). However, I do have the typical overall anxious feeling for most of the day 2 or 3 days a week.

7251241 tn?1389567812 There are many wonderful resources available to help with anxiety. Good nutrition, drinking plenty of water and avoiding caffeine, exercise, medication, therapy, etc. Many of us have found success with one, or a combo. of the above. I agree with Audrey1122 that therapy is key. I'm sorry you had a bad experience, that stinks. But, it took me 2 tries to find someone that I liked. Talk to someone you trust, look for resources to help you find someone you can connect with.
Avatar n tn Feel like a pin cushion from all the blood work - again all within normal ranges. My psychologist insists anxiety is the culprit. Though I have been under a fair amount of stress with work and family, can these pains linger around for this long just from anxiety? They come and go throughout the day and are very disruptive to my thinking of 'what's going on with me? - which I'm guessing only breeds more anxiety. The only other med I'm on is Lipitor for cholestorol.
480448 tn?1426952138 ONE important thing to remember that I learned, and have never forgotten is that these two effects CANNOT exist without anxiety.....but that anxiety can exist without these sensations. Derealization is basically a change, an alteration in the PERCEPTION or experience of the external world....in other words...everything LOOKS very strange, very "unreal" (movie like, in my experiences). Depersonalization is a subjective experience of unreality of one's self. So the difference is...

Avatar f tn I just read that anxiety is a reaction to feeling like things in life are out of one's control. Though people often feel that is true of tests ('Who knows what they will ask me?' etc.), it is less true in tests than some might assume, because people have control over how much they study and prepare. Your son should also know that (unless a particular instructor is a sadist) a test is simply designed to show what someone knows, or knows how to do.
168348 tn?1379360675 When I was asked to make an appearance here, the initial thrust was that I might be able to impart some ideas about "techniques" to deal with panic, aside from medications. I am totally unqualified to discuss medications. There's a little break in the action just now, so let me tell you a bit about myself and where "my head is" on anxiety and panic. My principle qualification to say anything at all about anxiety is personal experience and recovery.
Avatar n tn Hi, I think your symptoms are more generalized. This suggests that it could be generalized disorder causing your symptoms. I think it could be due to stress and anxiety. Yes, Stress and anxiety can do this. Stress is the condition that results when person-environment transactions lead the individual to perceive a discrepancy, whether real or not, between the demands of a situation and the resources of the person's biological, psychological or social systems.

What is the concern with November 3rd as this is 11 months away from now? Keep me informed. Bye.
Avatar f tn There are antidepressants that have generalized anxiety indications as well as panic. Is this the type you are taking? That is really the best thing to take on a day to day basis. some docs will then prescribe a short term fix for an attack that you would just take occasionally. And I can't say enough about adding talk therapy to this mix. They can help with triggers, coping mechanisms, life style strategies. that is really the tried and true way to conquer anxiety and panic disorder.

Avatar m tn Its possible you got an infection due to you stressing out/anxiety. A lot of stress can cause immune system suppression which can make you more susceptible to infections. I am kind of in the same mindset as you at the moment. I had a no risk/low risk unprotected oral sex, and after freaking out about it, it caused an allergy attack. And a week later infected ears and swollen lymph nodes in the neck. I do not have a fever or swollen lymphs anywhere else though. Thats what stress/anxiety can do.
424549 tn?1308519102 Mine was simple generalized anxiety disorder. I believe that, unfortunately, in your case the anxiety will continue to come as a by-product of the PTSD symptoms; therefore, treating the anxiety alone will not get to the root cause, and the root cause (when it comes to anxiety) is the only thing that can be effectively cured. Are you seeking help/support for the rape that occured? In my opinion, I think focusing on dealing with that specifically will help alleviate the after-effect of stress.
Avatar f tn I have the diagnosis of generalized anxiety and bipolar disorder. The bipolar is mostly treated with medicine, and I also take something for anxiety (non-narcotic), but I find the racing thoughts are the thing I have to be active in working on. The things that helped me at first with them were speaking with a psychiatrist about cognitive behavior therapy. It is something you can do yourself, if you don't have the time or resources to seek a professional's aid. Here are some free ones.
Avatar n tn I was recently perscribed Klonopin for generalized anxiety disorder. I am concerned about using this drug on a regular basis because of horible withdrals experienced in the past with antidepressants and xanax. I do not have depression, but expereince cronic anxiety usually in the morning. My question is, can Klonopin be used on a periodical basis when symptoms come on like a xanax can be used, or does it have to build up in your system like some other solutions I have tried?
