A recent study of maternal antiretroviral treatment from gestational week 34 to 6 mo postpartum has measured infant lamivudine concentrations at biologically significant concentrations.
Avatar m tn Was your son also tested for the actual thyroid hormones, Free T3 and Free T4? If not, he should be. TSH levels are, typically, higher in infants; what was the range given on the lab report? When she was born she was perfectly healthy, but once I had to return to work I began to give her formula and that's when she began to have these complications. Does anyone know what could possibly be wrong? Thank you.
Avatar n tn I went up there and took her to the doctor and she was basically told is was a stomach virus (gastroenteritis) drink plenty of fluids and it should go away in a couple of days but when I look up Gastroenteritis it says that it's common in people with weaken immune system caused by HIV. She took her 3 month birth control shot the morning before but I'm sure that didn't cause Gastroenteritis. My question is should I be concerned about HIV at this point.
Avatar n tn Hello! I seem to have unfortunately caught gastroenteritis. I was given Ondansentron and it helped immensely. However, I can't sleep. I'm so wired and my stomach still hurts but luckily, no side effects. Is this normal? Is it the gastroenteritis or the drug?
Avatar n tn If you are passing stools a lot and have stomach pain then in all probability you have either food poisoning or gastroenteritis. Take an OTC lactobacillus preparation and yoghurt with your meals. Drink plenty of fluids. Eat light, do not stay hungry but eat simple things like toast, porridge, cereals, crackers etc. Take ORS. Take over the counter antacid and antiemetic (this SOS for vomiting). Watch out for a day or two with this treatment.
Avatar n tn html Although TSH concentrations in the first few months of life typically are higher, persistent basal TSH concentrations of greater than 10 mU per L after two weeks of age generally are considered abnormal and should be treated. Infants who do not receive treatment should have repeat measurement of FT4 and TSH at two and four weeks, with initiation of treatment if results remain abnormal. It seems, according to this, that treatment is warranted at levels over 10 for infants.
Avatar f tn If you were addicted to it, you should tell the Dr. and be willing to accept out patient treatment for the addiction until the baby is born. Avatar f tn I went to the doc after 5 days. He said its just viral gastroenteritis. I looked up the condition and it says you have vomiting and/or diarrhea, but i have neither. I am worried it is appendicitis, but the appendix is on the right side, not left. I am really in pain but i am taking my meds as described. Does this sound like viral gastroenteritis to you? I am in such severe pain just laying here typing this and barely moving.. Please help. Thank you.
Avatar n tn Hello, Diarrhea and vomitings can be provoked either by an intestinal infection or by illness somewhere else in the body. When they begin suddenly, the problem is usually gastroenteritis (or stomach flu), most often caused by a virus and sometimes by bacteria and parasites. Gastroenteritis is an irritation and infection of the digestive tract. It can often cause sudden and sometimes violent upsets and may be confused with spastic colitis.
Avatar f tn I have used cocanie three times in my pregancy I am in treatment I am 31 weeks along will my baby test postive for this
Avatar f tn It sounds like a bout of Gastroenteritis (stomach flu). I don' t think your FTM HRT has a role in this. Can you post some details, regarding your history of Epilepsy? Treatment, meds and any other details. Not that I believe, it has much to do with your symptoms in your post, but perhaps I can offer you some further insight.

535089 tn?1400673519 Hi to all. I was recently Hospitalized with Gastroenteritis/Colitis and was wondering if anyone could give me some options for a good food regiment (liquid diet) that would help calm the intestines. I have had a recent infection including Colitis, Gastroenteritis (sp). I would also like to know what the best OTC antacid might be to calm the tummy. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Avatar n tn The only treatment I have seen for flathead is a helmet made especially for infants who have this flathead appearance. Years ago, there was no treatment available. I believe that once the plates of the skull close together, there is no treatment. You would have to see an orthopedist to determine if anything can be done. Second choice would be a plastic surgeon. They can do so much nowadays, removing bone and replacing it with other bones from somewhere else on the body.
