Avatar n tn I went up there and took her to the doctor and she was basically told is was a stomach virus (gastroenteritis) drink plenty of fluids and it should go away in a couple of days but when I look up Gastroenteritis it says that it's common in people with weaken immune system caused by HIV. She took her 3 month birth control shot the morning before but I'm sure that didn't cause Gastroenteritis. My question is should I be concerned about HIV at this point.

Avatar f tn Hello, Without examination it is very difficult to confirm a diagnosis, but some of the possibilities for your symptoms are gastroenteritis and dehydration. Drink plenty of water as dehydration can lead to electrolyte imbalance which in turn can lead to low BP and hence dizziness. Hypoglycemia, anemia, infections, endocrine disorders like thyroid, adrenal glands, and pituitary gland disorders can also lead to dizziness and nausea. What about your last menstrual periods.
Avatar n tn My daughter is 14 months old and she has has watery diarrhea and vomitting. When she was born she was perfectly healthy, but once I had to return to work I began to give her formula and that's when she began to have these complications. She began to have watery diarrhea and vomit. I took her to the doctor and they said she had gastroenteritis, but it's been a while now and she is still the same? Does anyone know what could possibly be wrong? Thank you.
873325 tn?1295461896 If vomiting prevents this, the child should be taken to the local emergency department for a few hours of intravenous saline and dextrose. This treatment is often expedited by supplying the parents with a letter describing the condition and recommended treatment. [edit] Natural history Children "outgrow" ketotic hypoglycemia, presumably because fasting tolerance improves as body mass increases.

475300 tn?1312423126 All my extensive blood work came back either normal or clear. Took Diflucan for 9 days for thrush on my tongue and down my esophogas. Didn't work, thrush is back and am going to an ENT doc on Friday. One thing I can say is the awful BO I had since TX is gone so maybe it was yeast related? Blood pressure has been high, never had that problem. Oh yea, even after all the tests that came up basically negative / normal except for the yeast & gastroenteritis........

Avatar m tn But maybe you can invite him for dinner with a trusted member of his treatment team. Or you can take your family to him and offer to cook him dinner wherever he is staying. I wouldn't give him free reign to make the rules as it sends him a mixed message that he is ok to make those decisions despite being ill. Which is not the message he needs to hear.
