Avatar n tn Blood transfusions are safe these days, you're stuck on the fear of a transfusion based on incidents where people acquired HIV early on in the epidemic. The blood supply is safe, your daughter has no HIV concerns. You need to listen to your daughter's doctor and seek some professional help for yourself to help you move on. It sounds like she has a stomach flu, which is in NO way related to HIV.

You're unfortunately going to have to deal with it for your life time. It's basically considered to be an 'allergic' state. You need to find out what substances are triggering the response and avoid them.
Avatar n tn Hello, Diarrhea and vomitings can be provoked either by an intestinal infection or by illness somewhere else in the body. When they begin suddenly, the problem is usually gastroenteritis (or stomach flu), most often caused by a virus and sometimes by bacteria and parasites. Gastroenteritis is an irritation and infection of the digestive tract. It can often cause sudden and sometimes violent upsets and may be confused with spastic colitis.

Avatar f tn Oh boy, that stinks. I've had gastroenteritis. I went on the BRAT diet (bananas, rice, apple sauce and toast). What about broth like chicken noodle soup, you eat the broth? Smoothie? If you are recovering, start back on food slowly. Most important thing is hydration. Drink a lot of fluids. Food can come back slowly and we are fine. But we have to stay hydrated. Go with bland.

Now my poop floats, is yellow, and when I flush the toilet the strikes of poop stick to the sides. I don't know what I might have. Thank you for taking you're time to read my summary.

I went to the doctor and he said it could be tendentious of the hip. a day after the pain began traveling to my left waist my bottom left stomach. All on the left side. Today and last night the pain Is on my right side and waist too. I'm not sure what's going on. The pain ranges from a 3 to a 7 out of 10 and keeps me up. Advil doesn't help. any ideas of what this could be?
Avatar n tn If you are passing stools a lot and have stomach pain then in all probability you have either food poisoning or gastroenteritis. Take an OTC lactobacillus preparation and yoghurt with your meals. Drink plenty of fluids. Eat light, do not stay hungry but eat simple things like toast, porridge, cereals, crackers etc. Take ORS. Take over the counter antacid and antiemetic (this SOS for vomiting). Watch out for a day or two with this treatment.
