Avatar n tn My daughter is 14 months old and she has has watery diarrhea and vomitting. When she was born she was perfectly healthy, but once I had to return to work I began to give her formula and that's when she began to have these complications. She began to have watery diarrhea and vomit. I took her to the doctor and they said she had gastroenteritis, but it's been a while now and she is still the same? Does anyone know what could possibly be wrong? Thank you.
Avatar n tn Hello! I seem to have unfortunately caught gastroenteritis. I was given Ondansentron and it helped immensely. However, I can't sleep. I'm so wired and my stomach still hurts but luckily, no side effects. Is this normal? Is it the gastroenteritis or the drug?
Avatar n tn Well certain viral infections can cause hemolyzed blood in urine. Check again in a day or two. If this persists then go back to your doctor. UTI and stone are the commonest cause. Cancers of urinary system or some drugs too cause blood in urine. Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
Avatar m tn I was wondering if anyone out there was also diagnosed with this at any point in their life? I recently went to the ER because I became violently ill, and didn't put the pieces together until now. When I was around 8 I was diagnosed with this, usually I was vomiting or had diarrhea almost every day for a long time. It seemed to stop, but I always still had diarrhea where most people would have regular bowel movements. It worries me that this condition could be coming back in force.
1872406 tn?1320890391 We rescued a little kitten approx 6 weeks old who has been diagnosed with viral gastroenteritis. The prognosis by the vet is poor and I'm wondering if there is anything else we can do other than keep her hydrated and treat/prevent secondary infections. Please help- really appreciate any advice or past experience that you may have... Thanks in advance...
Avatar n tn Is this a long term condition? If it is you could have Crohn's Disease or one of the Irritable Bowel / Gastroenteritis conditions. Night sweats, Nausea, Abdominal Pain are also associated with these conditions.
693811 tn?1245871706 t show gallbladder issues, like gallstones, that contrary to what people may have told you, you can have IBS pain and symptoms in the same region of the colon where your gall bladder is located. The symptoms are not always just in the descending colon on the lefthand side. You can also be gluten-intolerant and still have a negative test for the Sprue that is used to confirm Celiac, which is what happened to me. Yet, that may be because I had already removed gluten from my diet.
Avatar f tn I'm 14 I know I'm not old enough to be on here but my parents would get furious if I asked them if they could take me to the hospital and get checked out. My parents took me to the hospital 1 week ago because of gastroenteritis, and if I asked them too take me to the hospital they would get angry. So I'll just ask you guys here. Today my right hand pinky started twitching and still is. I saw a lot of scary things saying that it can be an underlying serious problem.
Avatar n tn Gastroenteritis can be produced from viral, bacterial and parasitic infections, contaminated food or water or change in bacteria that normally live in the intestinal tract.Chest pain that you are having is due to radiation of pain. Take adequate fluids throughout the day. The BRAT diet (ie, bananas, rice, applesauce, toast) or soft easily digestible semisolid diet can also be taken. You also need a course of antibiotics like ciprofloxacin or metronidazole. Hope it helps.

Avatar f tn On day 7 of a severe case of gastroenteritis. Everything seems to have calmed down, but once I try and eat anything stomach cramps start, which are unbearable. Sometimes followed by diarrhoea. Is this normal after a severe case of gastroenteritis or do I need to see my G.P again?
Avatar n tn I'm a 35 year old male with no history of health problems. My stool has been liquid to semi solid accompanied by a headache that feels like a cold. Also excessive mucous in the saliva. This has recurred over the past months, then died down only to return. What could the problem be and how do I address it? Thanks.

Avatar n tn ve been told by many people including people on this forum there was no risk but I have a question. My daughter had 4 units transfused on September 6 of last year. I had her tested 3 weeks after the transfusion and the test was negative. Then she woke up one day with Gastroenteritis which lasted about 2-3 days and was gone. I got her tested again January 8th which is 4 months post transfusion, the test was negative.

Avatar n tn My doctor said I have gastroenteritis. However, these symptoms have been persistent now for 10 days. Gastroenteritis usually lasts about 3-7 days. Avatar m tn Hey everyone, so I'll start by saying that I was told when I was a child that I had IBS. I always had stomach aches and bathroom problems as a child, but I'm 29 years old now and havent had issues since late high school. I've also had anxiety for the longest time. Back in September I went on a "Testosterone Diet", eating T-Boosting foods like cabbage, broccoli, kale, nuts, onions, meat, bananas, kefir, spinach, rice daily....
Avatar n tn In March I suddenly found myself with a range of new diagnoses after being completely healthy 45 year old male with no medical history. In March 2009 I was diagnosed with Eosinophilia (40%), Hypogammaglobulinemia low IgG (407) after going to the doctor with stomach pain and alcohol intolerance (0.5 ounce of wine or whiskey would trigger a violent attack within minutes, while grape juice does not cause an attack).
Avatar n tn mucus is a normal part of the intestinal lining including other parts of the body. Blood in the stool can be associated with constipation or hemorroids. Blood in the stool and associated with a thinning of the fecal matter is a something a physician should advise you about. He may order fecal occult test, blood test or colonoscopy. In any event, when there is a change and something is differerent or abnormal, communicate your concerns with a physician immediately. Take care!
