Avatar n tn Hey, i hope you are doing well now, the probiotics can help reduce flatulence as there are many reasons for excessive gas(gastoenteritis), it takes time to find the root cause, you should consult your doctor, meanwhile, you can also take the Fart pills, what I have heard and seen in youtube videos, these tablets works and can reduce the smelly flatulence and bloating. You can search for flatuscents on google.
1788584 tn?1315106518 This usually clears up within a few days and its like havin a flu virus or stomach bug. Another thing to remember is to drink pleanty of fluids especially water to stay hydrated through this ordeal. If you are suffering from a temperature then parecetomol will take the fever symptoms away.If you get any worse or feel weak ectr then contact your G.P who should perscibe you some anti biotics to get rid of the bacteria in you tum .
Avatar f tn Extremely normal. Gastroenteritis (stomach virus) is inflammation. It can cause mild to extreme pains anywhere in your abdomen, though most feel it epigastrically. (The hollow right under your ribs, in your upper stomach) Other symptoms include nausea, vomiting, fever, malaise and general aches and pains. For most people symptoms subside within 1-3 days but you're contagious much longer.
1788584 tn?1315106518 As for acid reflux, this is a symptom of your tummy producing too much acid, and since you were able to eat you do not have a stricture in your esophogus, and I just think if you imagine you ate something a little off or imagine a temporary virus, you'll realize that's all it is. As I said, if you're not feeling a lot better by mid-week, do go to a clinic to get labwork done for any bacteria you picked up from food.
Avatar f tn Viral gastroenteritis symptoms may appear 1-3 days after you are infected and can range from mild to severe. Symptoms usually last just a day or two, but occasionally they may persist as long as 10 days. Because the symptoms are similar, it is easy to confuse diarrhea caused by viruses with diarrhea caused by bacteria (e.g., Clostridium difficile, salmonella, and E. coli) or parasites (e.g., giardia). If your symptoms persist, see your doctor for further workup and management.
535089 tn?1400673519 Hi to all. I was recently Hospitalized with Gastroenteritis/Colitis and was wondering if anyone could give me some options for a good food regiment (liquid diet) that would help calm the intestines. I have had a recent infection including Colitis, Gastroenteritis (sp). I would also like to know what the best OTC antacid might be to calm the tummy. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Avatar f tn Elevated lipase can be associated with gastroenteritis which you may have had based on nausea you describe. If your stomach lining is irritated, you can have elevated lipase. https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/322201.php You could also have your symptoms and pancreatitis and have elevated lipase. Sometimes a bland diet will help such as the brat diet. This is banana, rice, applesauce, and toast.

Avatar n tn My daughter is 14 months old and she has has watery diarrhea and vomitting. When she was born she was perfectly healthy, but once I had to return to work I began to give her formula and that's when she began to have these complications. She began to have watery diarrhea and vomit. I took her to the doctor and they said she had gastroenteritis, but it's been a while now and she is still the same? Does anyone know what could possibly be wrong? Thank you.
Avatar f tn but i have never been as ill as this in my life - i have back pain ( top and lower ) the worst gas and indegestion ever and nausea causing me to retch but not actally be sick. my stomach and abdomen are so bloated i cant even lie on my side . i have put on 3 lb in a few days. the symptoms do worsen when i eat , even though i usualy eat like a horse i am only eating a little as it hurts and i always feel full!!
Avatar n tn Blood transfusions are safe these days, you're stuck on the fear of a transfusion based on incidents where people acquired HIV early on in the epidemic. The blood supply is safe, your daughter has no HIV concerns. You need to listen to your daughter's doctor and seek some professional help for yourself to help you move on. It sounds like she has a stomach flu, which is in NO way related to HIV.
591925 tn?1218982710 I did a little searching on "Gastritis" and found some symptoms that were close to mine. But it did say if there was also diarrhea involved (which I have) that "Gastroenteritis" might be the right diagnosis. And my symptoms also were close to that of "Giardiasis" so I'm a little confused as to what to expect to hear from the doctor, but I'm going to make an appointment Monday morning since these all can be caused by infections/virus/bacteria, etc.
Avatar n tn Gastrointestinal infection most likely (stomach and intestines) drink plenty of fluids any kind besides liquor if you can get it down take some vitamin C it will help kill the bugger by rasing the acidity of your tract but be warned it tastes horrible a second time and it is mean to wind burn if you know what I mean. Ps you are probably dehydrated that is why you are light headed.

Avatar f tn Every day since I went to the hospital to get checked out I was found out with gastroenteritis and 1 week later taking pills it went away. Now ever since then I've been going to the bathroom and what I've. Noticed is that my poop is yellow and floats. I think I may have malabsorption but I'm not to sure. I'd go to the doctor but my parents wouldn't wanna take me as I had gone to the doctor 4 weeks ago. I'm 14 and I'm overweight for my age. I'm 210 Pounds.
Avatar n tn Hello! I seem to have unfortunately caught gastroenteritis. I was given Ondansentron and it helped immensely. However, I can't sleep. I'm so wired and my stomach still hurts but luckily, no side effects. Is this normal? Is it the gastroenteritis or the drug?
Avatar n tn I would recommend talking to your doctor and telling them that the meds aren't working anymore. They can help you figure out what to do.
Avatar m tn Hello, doctors. I'm a young, sexually active gay male. From time to time I meet a man from the Internet and engage in safer sex practices like fellatio (mostly with me performing it) and mutual masturbation. I never engage in anal sex with these men, and I always, always ask about HIV status. My last test was two months ago and the result was negative. So, normally, I'm not very worried about HIV. However, I have a concern that I hope you can address.
Avatar m tn t eat it all as I came over very hot and feeling very ill, since then I have barely been able to eat, I started with cold like symptoms, sickness and diarrhoea. Once the illness part of it past I felt absolutely fine, yet, I still can't eat much food at all, the smell of food makes me nauseous, I am getting heart burn all the time. I am drinking pleanty of water but eating no more than an egg cup full of food a day if I am lucky.
Avatar m tn I am having problems keeping my food in my stomach long enough so I can pass it out normally, instead, after I eat, I have to run to the toilet and it passes through me within 10 minutes and i am in really bad pain. when i was 13, i was diagnosed with Gastroenteritis, had the course of medication, nothing got better or worse, at ages 15, saw a different doctor, and was diagnosed with IBS, it took me 14 months to get a doctors appointment as the NHS where i live is extremely shoddy.
Avatar m tn Also if someone could help with the fact that he burps and it smells so bad and I know what it is from and that he can't help it. But is there anything he can do to help the smell? He gets embarrassed when we go out to eat and he is making the place smell around him. Any help would help out so much!
