Secondly i dont know how i got typhoid.. Anyways i got typhoid positive from two labs. and totaly negative from one.... even i gave my blood the same day before medication to all of them.. The third one which gave negative results, they used elisa for typhoid. please help me in this matter. thanks.

Hello, i have symptoms of fever, headache, body pain and last june 24, after two wks i was diagnose of typhoid fever, after a wk of medication and test its negatve and i start drinking alcohol, then i feel again the symptoms, i was admit to hospital and treated for iv antibiotics, all cbc are normal but i am positive for dengue igg. After 3 days i was discharge and continue oral antibiotic until now but i still suffering headache, low fever every afternoon, and nausea.

Stool culture was negative (as were prior blood cultures), but the antibody test did show a high level to Salmonella O Vi. Dr. diagnosed it as a mild case of Typhoid Fever and I was treated with Bactrim (10-day course) & all symptoms resolved. Unfortunately I then contracted virul gastroenteritis with profuse vomiting & diarrhea for 24 hours. With that, my flank pain returned followed by IBS-type symptoms (urgency, gas/bloating, constipation).

I went up there and took her to the doctor and she was basically told is was a stomach virus (gastroenteritis) drink plenty of fluids and it should go away in a couple of days but when I look up Gastroenteritis it says that it's common in people with weaken immune system caused by HIV. She took her 3 month birth control shot the morning before but I'm sure that didn't cause Gastroenteritis. My question is should I be concerned about HIV at this point.

Hello! I seem to have unfortunately caught gastroenteritis. I was given Ondansentron and it helped immensely. However, I can't sleep. I'm so wired and my stomach still hurts but luckily, no side effects. Is this normal? Is it the gastroenteritis or the drug?

For most people symptoms subside within 1-3 days but you're contagious much longer. You can still pass the virus through your stool for 2 weeks or so and it can survive on surfaces for a long time too. Just take it easy, eat bland foods and rest a lot.

i noticed a lot of hair falling(during the 15 days tenure of typhoid).even though i did not have that much severe typhoid..i shaved off my head and now i find that the density of hair has reduced...at the back of my head i have some patches which are small and are like slots...whenever i apply oil to that portion or something watery falls on it i have mild itching..and this is the same area where i see bald patches..

Typhoid is rare in developed countries...just out of curiosity do you know how you contracted it? People with typhoid Are normally hospitalized...especially pregnant women. I don't mean to sound rude but my goodness what is your doctor thinking?! I also don't know where you live (not everyone on this site is from US). This can be a life threatening illness to both mother AND baby....it can be transferred to baby.

Guys, I'd been having an upset stomach for four or five days until I finally had full-blown diarrhea since yesterday. Today I called my doc and she called me in immediately for a stool sample and a blood test. They both turned out positive for typhoid and I'm 3 weeks along, almost. HI and sorry you are ill. Do you have diarrhea? or constipation, or stomach pain, achy and weak, and headache? The diarrhea is the biggest sign. Usually, you would have these with typhoid which is caused by the bacteria Salmonella typhi. Have you or someone living with your traveled out of the country to a developing country recently? The Widel test is to check for Typhoid but your result is slightly low. A positive usually is 160 or higher for recent infection.

I went took blood test and the result showed I had typhoid and little jaundice. I'm still taking medication for typhoid and jaundice. What should I do?

After a week i was diagnose positive for typhoid fever. After medication from typhoid i was negative but still i have suffering same symptoms. It is possible that it is a HIV?
